I’m Max Hils, one of the maintainers of the mitmproxy project. I’ve started working on mitmproxy in 2013 as a student and have been leading the development of the project (including side projects such as pdoc) for the last few years.
The software we’re building has been used to find countless security vulnerabilities, has helped journalists at the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal uncover privacy violations, and helps thousands of developers save time debugging their network communication every day.
What Your Money Will Achieve
Your sponsorship will help me improve mitmproxy and keep it actively developed.
For now my goal with all sponsorship funds is to cover project-related expenses, support conference travel, and ideally fund an in-person development sprint meeting for the extended mitmproxy team at some point in time.
Barring an unexpected avalanche of money, I do not plan on quitting my job. But a perceivable side-income fueled by gratitude helps to motivate to spend a Saturday morning on other people’s problems.
Feel free to only sponsor me for short times. I will not keep track of who sponsors me and I’m grateful even if you choose to support for only one month.
