As a Xubuntu and Android user, I feel very discriminated against by this normie-first approach.
Install Steam + Proton. Should get you started nicely. Actually, IIRC Steam on Linux is already packaged w/ it, but I haven't had to make a clean installation in a while to remember if it's actually true.
