It is designed to be the most cruel captcha ever made.
Whaha, really? It should`ve been optimized for that. But what bugs do you actually endure? Do not forget it is made to piss people off :P Also, wrong answers are always accepted :P It is to keep ya bussy.
I love how it takes ages to verify 12 + 9 while not having a backend. I also just had five verify buttons with only one that worked. I am testing on mobile too, so far it works. Android btw.
With the exception of the first one, I think all is intentional. I did do deep research on the most horrible captchas that resolved into a long document. And that is implemented.

So, this is on high cruelty: you see that thing at top counting down every second. It keeps counting down while it's contacting the server for a long time. Then, the message appears later: "it takes longer than normal" - this will stress the user completely out.
The buttons don't work the first time, but do the second time.
