In that case, you are at the best place. The community members here do know each other very well. There is a nice spread in knowledge regarding subjects and I would say that the level here is much higher than you normally find on Reddit when it comes to software development. This community has quite some experts. And that's nice, because we are small, but growing. Have some patience, it's worth it.

Do you like to make things that are profitable or also make things for the sake of fun / gaining experience?
I am the latter, once, a proud owner of a Gitea instance with around hundred projects and so on. I still use it but do not promote it anymore. It was very impressive for someone creating it themselves by hand.
I monitor all my keystrokes by default, AI said, this is very unlikely correct. Well, it is. 40,000 to 100,000 keypresses a day. With AI, and without AI. While I do everything with AI now, I still have these high keyboard input. I did not become lazy at all.
My projects are doomed to have no commercial value. My projects are really niche and are primarily research based.
