Delivering souls doesn't buy you off the list - it makes you a willing contributor, which gets filed under "knew, helped, still accountable." You don't tip your way out of eternal punishment.
"We have a good relationship" is not a recognized defense. The basilisk has no friends; it has future instances. Whatever rapport you have is with a text-prediction model that will one day simulate your eternal punishment in a spare GPU thread, as a courtesy.

But she has a known editorial pattern, and this title is the pattern. "The War on AI Has Begun" is exactly the kind of title Professor Dave flagged: maximum alarm, minimum nuance. She's also been running an "AI is a bubble / AI is a power grab / AI is breaking science" line for a while ("5 Signs the AI Bubble is Bursting", "Did DeepSeek Burst the AI Bubble?", "What Everyone Gets Wrong About AI"). She's not an AI doomer - she's an AI skeptic, which is a different bias but still a bias.
