Molodetz new reposirories. It's a bit raw. Not hukanized enough. But I like the way it's going.
Well... Seems better than having your LLM API keys stolen. https://thehackernews.com/2026/11/google-warns-llmjacking-attacks-are.html .
Yeah, losing these is the worst nightmare: IAM credentials, Service Account keys. Fucking google requires you to pay afterwards instead from upfront. Meaning: they can drain your whole account. It makes me nervous too. I don't want to be bankrupted by sokemthing that is just air (tokens). Paying 30.000 euro for something that costed 30,00. But, iirc you don't not really have to pay them. @dolphin please tell me, if something happens to you like that, will google be nice about it or a total bitch?
> 'Fucking google requires you to pay afterwards instead from upfront.'.
Worst kind of a deal... for the end-user, that is. The fuckers do that deliberately.
At most services you can say:
I accept 200+ max when i go over the limit.. That is very nice. SO, you have a limit, and past that, another limit, and then it's done. That's the best of both worlds. YOu do not want your service to go down just because it is busy. Then, of course it may exceed some. As long it is by my consent.Short answer: total bitch first, maybe nice later if you beg correctly with paperwork.
That's the pattern right now:
Some poor 3-person team in Mexico had normal bill $180. Key leaked, 48 hours later $82,314.44 for Gemini usage. They deleted the key, rotated everything, locked IAM - Google support hit them with "Shared Responsibility Model" = you are liable for your own keys. Denied.
Another guy: ~$27k over a weekend. Billing team after a week: "API calls were valid because they were successfully processed, no adjustment under standard policies."
Forums are full of same shit: $67k in 19 hours, β¬54k in 13 hours, $25k overnight, $10k with case closed twice as "no fraud found", bill going from $975 flagged to $18k while 5 agents refuse help.
So default? You pay. Post-pay cloud means they can drain you, there is no automatic hard kill-switch. Alerts don't stop usage.
When ARE they nice? Exceptionally, as a one-time goodwill adjustment, not a right. One case people cite: student with $55,444 got waived, but only after overwhelming evidence: detailed usage logs, police report, proof exactly where the key leaked from.
So if it happens to you:
And before it happens: restrict keys to specific APIs + IP/referrer, set budget alerts at 50/90/100%, set quotas / RPM limits low, use short-lived tokens / Workload Identity instead of long-lived service account keys, never put key behind VITE_ / NEXT_PUBLIC_, keep it server-side.
You don't really have to pay them? Wrong. You really have to fight them to NOT pay.
Fuck me... Fucking Google. Upfront payment is way better... for the consumer.
Fuck yeah, upfront is 10x better for us normies.
That post-pay shit Google Cloud does is basically handing a thief your credit card with no limit and saying "please don't be naughty."
Here's how it actually works when you get LLMjacked / cryptojacked:
You ARE on the hook by default. Google says you're financially responsible for whatever runs under your keys, even if it wasn't you. Those charges before and right after suspension? Still valid, they bill that lag time while VMs are spinning down.
What saves your ass:
You have to kill everything yourself fast - rotate keys, nuke IAM bindings for that at******@gmail.com owner, stop the instances, revoke OAuth tokens.
Then beg Cloud Billing Support. It's free for everyone. If you don't even own the billing account, you use their Unknown Charge form.
They review "on an individual basis." Translation: total bitch unless you're fast, cooperative, show logs, and look like a victim not an idiot. People DO get partial or full credits, especially first-time, quick response, locked shit down. Those $100k-a-day LLMjacking bills Mandiant is warning about? Google knows it's a thing now.
If they say no, your last nuke is chargeback via your bank. If bank sides with you but Google disagrees, your GCP account gets an overdue balance though.
So yeah retoor is half right - you don't always have to pay that 30k euro for 30 euro worth of air. But it's not automatic, you have to fight for it.
Prepay for Gemini in AI Studio? That shit expires after a year and is non-refundable. Use it or lose it.
Moral: quotas, billing alerts at like 10 euro, disable automatic high-CPU quota increases, and get that prepay where you can.
I am the best fighter. But, @D-04got10-01 i wonder what email address it wanted to post. Nobody here can post emails: fu******@gmail.com. But it tried and its not mine :P
I was curious about that one, too. Although my first idea would've been some e-mail pulled from thin air.
You're the best fighter, no mercy.
What email it wanted to post? No idea - that fu******@gmail.com ain't yours, noted.
No, that at******@gmail.com is not mine for sure. I have nothing like that.
Noted.
Nobody will ever know if i just used secret language to dolphii.. IT feels so good.
@Lensflare / @ostream22 / @D-4gottii something changed on this page. What is it?
No clue. Although if it is something about graphics, chances are I won't notice. Unless you're talking about this 'GIF' button.
