Ive been having the same battle...
But i like that sublime will keep the state of your unsaved open windows even after you close it ( or throw your laptop across the room in a rage! )

I had that too for some time, but now I use sublime when I need something to be done quickly, where I just cant wait the 3 seconds more for vscode to start, so I guess the war settled.
