Must have walked away from it to be that burned.

(I'm surprised the battery didn't blow up. Might be a fire hazard still though.)

I think is dangerous to ask: what the hell heppened here? 🤐 😅
  • 11
@bahua they just wanted the data off it. The hard drive was a little crispy, so I told them chances are slim. I'm still gonna try though

@nin0x03 yeah, we definitely are conscious of that

    Jesus flipping christ
Did they put it on a stovetop???
  • 4
I have the same Toshiba, this is either an A505 or an A665 Satelite. Good little work horse. I have them in a digital picture frame and as a Plex server respectively.

I wonder what the stove looks like with all that melted plastic.

Most importantly, what kind of person thinks a stove is a good place to put things other than cookware?

How to use a laptop lesson 1...
"Do not cover fan and ventilation spaces as this will have negative effect on the overall system performance."

    Should have installed Linux.

Is that an HP G60? I recognize the bottom from years of using mine.
  • 2
Well, it would still work if it would be a thinkpad though.

Beside that it was the best turn in comment I've heard so far. I'd gave them a high five right away before putting a patch on it.
  • 4
Restarting the laptop usually fixes whatever is wrong with it. Did you try restarting it? How many times? 3?
  • 2
@netikras and make sure it is actually plugged in. Just in case the battery took damage!
  • 3
Have you tried to turn off and then turn on the computer after 5 minutes? Maybe it works!!
  • 5
I thought it was just a normal Samsung product at first...
