I don't need to understand the formula, I need to understand the SQL query. I will never ever do any relational algebra in my life, but I will write SQL statements. That I need to understand.
No, I don't need to know the mathematical representations of queries to understand what's happening. Don't teach CS like maths, teach it like language.

It's not about "how do we calc the log of some shit?" Anymore, we found an optimal way to do it and implemented it everywhere. But do we teach about git and memory management and using your tech stack and shit like that or better said "stuff you need to know about software development after 1950"?
