I actually talked to my duck. He solved my Server 500 error which said "java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: logger". I had to purge the build .class files and recompile the application and low and behold it runs.

Why is my duck a better debugger than most actual debuggers? He didn't even go to college!

@D--M I think it's the IDE which is at fault.

@groot It was my IDE actually. It's rare for IntelliJ to be the cause of the issue (way more when I used Visual Studio).

And I like Java thankyouverymuch. What better alternatives are there for the backend? PHP? :P

I know this feeling.
I started studying CS this year, I turn 31 next month.
My younger brother, 27 began his PhD a month ago.
I'm really proud of him and if I think about it, I have a good life despite some regrets. I know I will 'survive' in one or another way, but it makes me happy to know that my siblings are in safe haven. :3
