I am new at a company and I really like it. After one month I got a job offer from my most wanted company with a higher payment. Told my current boss. He said he is very happy with me and will give me a huge raise starting next year. I already got the details on contract.
What to do? Both jobs will pay me about the same. I love the current company and my colleagues but the new has much more challenging requirements and I feel like my life will get a little bit boring on the long run at my current job.

    If they appreciate you, then you can propose something that is challenging and they will accept

    Throw a coin to have a decission...If you are honestly Happy with what the coin tells you...you know that you choose right. If you are unhappy with the result of the coin...you know which decission to Take by yourself

    Regardless of what you should do, here's what will happen in either case.

    If you stay where you are, and don't mention greener pastures again, you will have a good job with good people, that may or may not give you an aggressive pay increase next year.

    If you leave, you're signaling to everyone-- current company, new company, any future employers --that you're willing to abandon commitments if something flashier comes along. All good faith goes out the window.

    I disagree. Having a personal sense of right and wrong, and a knowledge of how your actions affect others are not things you have to be a Japanese Salaryman to exhibit.

    Sure but that's an offense. The only offense the OP's employer has committed is not being the other company.

    Thx to all the feedback. I took the new job offer. My current boss kind of understands and we will part in good terms. I will work my ass off at the last two weeks just to leave a good impression and deal with my inner guilty feelings.
