afaik2036d@Lensflare You forgot something: what gen is your MAGAbook? my Linux machine is about 15 years old.
-
afaik2036dAnd your MAGABook is proprietary DUH, experiment freedom and an elevated consciousness don't be a tool DUH. OSX is a boring and stupid OS, why it's boring? because it's proprietary just like Windows.
-
Lensflare2131436d@afaik2 ok let‘s address your points :)
Have you deleted the comment where you are saying that mac os is built on linux? I might have hallucinated it, but if I didn’t:
No, it’s built on Unix, not Linux. :)
My mac is from 2023. But if it was old enough, I wouldn’t be able to produce any gen ios apps with it, so that criticism is valid.
I don’t care if the os is boring. I care about if I can work with it and if it doesn’t constantly piss me off like Windows does.
I don’t care about all of the political crap I don’t care if it’s proprietary. It’s my tool and it works well.
You seem to be the one who is using his OS as a political statement and a lifestyle, not me :) -
afaik2036d"No, it’s built on Unix, not Linux. :)"
I know it, Netbsd, Freebsd, real (free of rights) Unix systems.
Politics!!!! why Freebsd was born? because of politics!!! -
12bitfloat1081735d@Lensflare I thought apple had some pretty hard restrictions for which versions you are still allowed to compile apps for, no? -
Lensflare2131435d@12bitfloat compiling for a min ios version is not the same as compiling with a min sdk.
You can go pretty far back with ios support and it can take decades until you‘re not able to use the latest and required tools for apps that are released on the app store with old macs.
What you probably mean is that apple forces you to use an sdk at most 2 years old to make new apps or app updates.
And that is only a problem when your mac is too old to support that sdk. But it has to be really old for that to happen. -
whimsical174335dI'm rolling with three x270's to show off my wealth. Together they have 24gb ram.
They're superspeedii but 8gb of ram is really limiting lately. Even the claude cli app can kill my machine.
Speed also comes from custom self made wm, exclusively using vim and no vs code shit (but still modern, my vim supports Ai autocompletion and refactoring just as good as any other editor, also custom made). Also, I've removed the specter patches. Stupid hoax. Raised cpu with 15% to 30%.
Ive let AI optimize the whole Linux installation based on my specific hardware and crossed my fingers (not to worried about fixing broken shit.. Yolo). -
D-4got10-01280433d@12bitfloat As @Lensflare mentioned, the only requirement is to compile your apps using the SDKs that can't be too old.
It's very similar to Android's targetSdkVersion vs minSdkVersion.
iOS: https://developer.apple.com/news/... .
Android: https://developer.android.com/googl... .
Bookmarking those is kinda advisable. -
D-4got10-01280433d@Lensflare That's true. It's usually apparent only after you've found && read the docs.

I can produce last generation Android Apps on my LeNovo x230 Linux and this comfortably, anyone else?
