My grandfather gave me a laptop of a friend of his, to install an OS.

His friend had a new hard drive installed and apparently they sold him an SSD. He told me that the company that installed it, told him that it was better because it was more expensive.

Of course, an old fellow needs SSD for simple things like YouTube and such.

My friend came to me with a laptop asking if I could do anything because she spilt some water and it wouldn't turn on. Previously she took it to KnowHow and they quoted her £500 for repairs saying that the drive is destroyed and unrecoverable.

10mins later I gave her the laptop back fully operational. Those sly bastards opened the chassis up and unplugged the drive from the system.

These repair shops ain't loyal

don't worry @uziiuzair, worst case scenario, you turn out to have a motherboard problem and they can fix it *thumbs up, salesman smile*
