    I'm waiting for a custom ROM Nougat with CMTE.. because I always root again after staying on stock for while since I can't deal with all those white backgrounds everywhere.

    As an iOS user, I've always wondered how this works. Why does it seem like it takes forever for most devices to get the latest updates? And some just never do?
  • 1
    @ericfledderman The newer the model, the newer the updates you get. Some devices get it earlier.
  • 0
    @GadgetGeek well certainly. But do all devices get updates? I recall the last time I owned an Android (I believe it was an HTC Evo) it was released with an OS that was a few versions behind and I don't believe ever got any update? I realize that that was many years ago, wondering if it's any different now?
  • 1
    @ericfledderman Now, androids probably get 1 big update in its lifetime
  • 1
    @GadgetGeek Gotcha. Well that's one argument I can't use against Androids anymore I guess.

    I have it since March
    Nexus 6P 💕
  • 3
    @ericfledderman Basically Google release a new version or an update, but because other companies, such as Samsung, HTC etc customise their version of Android with their own software, it can take months or even never for it to hit users of those phones. Nexus phones always get the updates as they run the official "stock rom" that is supplied by Google.

    @VenomCLC
    @GadgetGeek

    Google kbd dictionary suggested to use 'Lexus' 😎 And I agreed.
    However, this is the LFA of all devices 😹

    Been using nougat for 2 months now...

    @Mishimoto But what about Lexus 6P?
  • 1
    @VenomCLC
    I saw bend tests of it.
    Definitely not a Lexus IMHO 😉

    @MaccaMc dude... that makes perfect sense. No idea why I never considered the custom roms as part of the equation. Thanks for that tidbit.

    @h3ll same here. Waiting for nougat on my Moto G3. I hope Lenovo won't disappoint Moto G3 users.

    @yako Unofficial builds of AOSP and CM 14 are available for your device on XDA, just flash a custom ROM
