I'm about to quit my job this week to start my own software company... I have a meeting this friday with the first potential-client and I feel very anxious about it. I also feel scary because if this doesn't work probably I will stay unemployed with a 30K debt because of my Mac

    30K debt for a Mac? What's that mean?

    Do you have any actual clients or only potential?

    Does your current employment contract let you do any other work - could you possibly do both and see how it goes?

    @spl0 yep, Macbook is not cheap. It is only potential (but by myself I have a current cliente that pays monthly). My current job doesn't allow me to do that.

    To put it into perspective for everyone else:
    30000 Mexican pesos = 1550,09 USD

    @yarwest Makes a lot more sense now. But if $1500 of debt worries you, be careful before going into business on your own. A few lean months will land you with more than that!

    It sounds you got the wrong mac, that price pays for a 'design' computer. You can code on a mini and on an air, take it easy.

    The pc i started coding on is now 7 years old and, to this day, is still good enough to write text xD
