Funniest reason to get rejected in an interview...

"While technically we were okay your level, we were unsure of your exact reason for joining GreedyGame and not some other company."

Now I wonder, what's more pathetic, their grammar or their reason.

Maybe this is the neutral, careless way of them saying "there's another candidate roughly on your level that's however more interested in our company specifically".

Sure, but then again maybe there's someone who's a better fit. Some companies don't even get back to you if it's a "no" (and even if you've asked them to), so there's that at least. Best thing you can do is move on to the next company.

@kamen may be true... But then that's stupid. Momentarily super excited people sometimes have fastest dwindling excitement.

To me this sounds like: There is another candidate who isn't quite as good as you but is prepared to do the job for a lot less money

@ultimaterage seems like... Given that the expected salary I stated was slightly on a higher side. But they didn't try to negotiate either.

I was pretty confident and badly wanted to make this switch badly since their product, tech stack, company culture was attractive and I wanted to relocate to that city badly...
