To be fair, there is a reason that most chat services have a mute option.
Now I can't really say what exactly happened here but if I didn't answer your question and I have the DO NOT DISTURB sign up; it is exactly because I was busy doing my job.
I've had this happen within my team a lot of times. I get annoying unstructured questions, the answers of which are easy to look up. When I'm feeling nice, I simply ignore these messages. If I'm pissed you'd likely be receiving that call from me. -
I know the problem. I was ignored by superior with quite important question, that was non-technical but his decision. Later down the line we had teleconferency that included his superior. Well, of course I mentioned "Ah, also, [name], Could you please respond me to question I asked on slack that didn't get any awnser - namely [question]"
I think he learned his lesson **shrug**
E: most annoying part was after me someone else asked him other question and he responded immidietely.
I've taken my Dev rant over to Linked in. Fuck you recruiters!

You might just say that you don't know. That is okay.
But we all fucking work from home and I can see you're there. FUCKING ANSWER YOU INCOMPETENT, USELESS, UNPROFESSIONAL SACK OF SHIT.
It is so fucking counterproductive. I fucking hope all the chocolate chips in your life turns out to be raisins.
