My hubby saw me using Secure Shell to install some software on a cloud server I'm using through the terminal. After a few minutes of watching, he said, "Oh, the government better watch out for you!"

I've been unable to successfully convince him I'm not some elite super-hacker like he's used to seeing in movies and NCIS.

    @RazorSh4rk I know, it's so awful. But that's the kind of thing my husband thinks we do. It's one of his favorite shows.

    I've heard of people getting kicked out of coffee shops because the employees thought they were hacking their internet. He was just running npm install

    @tytho Yeah, I've heard of that. I try to preemptively let employees know what kind of work I'm doing rather than letting them jump to their own media-fueled conclusions. 😅

    @tytho a buddy of mine was doing some "research" at the local Barresso (he was sniffing WiFi from bypassing people for a project on uni), when one of the batistas came over and gave him a free refill 😅

    Tho to be fair, he has a ThinkPad, so it looked somewhat serious 😅
