One thing I learned over my few work years is:

1.Never do anything for free.

2.Be irreplaceable however you can.

3.Most managers ain't shit so don't play nice and end up getting stomped.

    2. And that is how you force yourself to work ALL THE TIME. No vacation, no real weekends, you have to be reachable 24/7/365.

    1. When we say "one thing", it does not mean 3 different things.

    @Linux not necessarily, just be good in an area others aren't good at, doesn't really mean selling your soul to the company.
