My reaction to System76's new distro:

Pop!_OS. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT FORMATTING?

Cudnt agree more... Linux seriously needs some standardization... There is just waaaayyyyyy too much options for its own good... (Qt vs GTK... Pulse audio, alsa... Xorg, wayland...) It just looks tooo... Unmanaged. And everything is so scattered... I love linux but this is one thing linux can definitely improve on. Especially the graphical backend and sound drivers (for all i know)

@apisarenco oh i love the choice in distros... But not so with the backend frameworks... It jst feels like the windows arent uniform looking and resources r being wasted on continuing something which really isnt needed... *Cough* gtk *cough*

@apisarenco yea ur right haha... Personally i'd really like the abolishment (correct word i hope) of xorg and gtk... I think qt and wayland will b good enuf... But alas... Wayland isnt there yet 😭

@apisarenco by isnt there i mean it isnt fully working as its supposed to... It uses xorg as its back end so... Yea

@apisarenco oh i meant wayland uses xorg as backend haha... And yea... I use nvidia in my awesome optimus laptop (sarcasm intended) haha
