@DucksCanCode I was trying to remove /home/luca/~ (which I accidentally created with some files in it, so the -rf was actually necessary).

zshh38189yI'm so fearful of this scenario that I first thought about making a script that prevents it if I ever accidentally run it.
Then I found something called safe-rm. Some Perl script I think written a long time ago. I tried it and it works so now it's part of my dotfiles setup process. Better safe than sorry.
