I don’t make mistakes either. I do make bugs though, and so does Claude. And ChatGPT too.
There is — and will always be — a barrier in programming that AI can never cross. AI can’t design you a good compiler, or a good OS, or any good algorithm.

I just said that his meme was not able to reproduce on a 14b+ model. Never touch a guy and his meme. Then he starts to say really mean things and even threaten. The bot just stays because I do not accept. I gave that fucker always benefit of the doubt regarding things.

As for the way it works - it meets my expectations for a chat app, which is the thing I use most of the time, even though it supports some other features.

How about thinking about it as OSs - none of them is great. They all have their drawbacks. But you pick the one which helps you do what it is that you want to do the best.

So well vibed, it costed around 5 prompts (2 huge, 3 small) and 5/6 hours or so. It even supports the original devRant bots and uses my own AsyncDataSet library for the database communication. Nothing on this system is chosen by AI itself regarding back-end. It purely executed.

It only uses 3rd party FastAPI and aiosqlite making it future proof and maintainable. Front-end it does not have any libs or framework making it last for years. This is quality that lasts.

This project is not 'vibing' but precision work. There is literally no advantage of doing this yourself. And if you keep on hating it, even after such precision work (original bots run on it!), it's just unreasonable. Be honest, how much time do you really spend on a prompt..

@whimsical several minutes on the first prompt, then hours on trying to fix what the first several prompts got me into with even more prompting.

Also, you answered my question yourself — precision work is not what AI does. And I only do precision work.

That's why i did not went into detail of the making of - you can imagine that all the information that it took to get the api perfect all up front and finished with one vibe, took hours to collect? And no, there was barely fixing. It was 95% prompting. You make assumptions based on your own lazy prompts. I ask you again, how much time do you spend on a prompt? I know the answer, and that's why you have to fix so much shit. You let the AI choose, I don't, i delivery my own AsyncDataSet / API docs / APIClient (the devranta project was part of the source).

I'm done talking, and done with you. Because you- you won't survive the AI era. AI is not something that is about to come, AI is now. But some people know how to use it, and some don't. AI is not for lazy people. Putting effort in it is extremely high rewarded as my beautiful native devRant api compatible devRant site here. 1. The pic I posted is my screenshot that I took yesterday while testing gemma3-4b quantized in llama.cpp.

2. You know nothing about my prompts and my setup. You baselessly assume that I was lazy while prompting, but in reality, even Cursor agent that scans the whole repository and has all the info couldn't make a single useful feature in my work repository that is three years old. I don't know what else I could've given it for it to succeed. Yes, I tried explicitly giving it my helpers file — nothing. None of the tasks I tried to make it do was about connecting some external API whose schema I didn't provide. Far from that.

3. Morgan Stanley says AI is running on investor funds and is vastly unprofitable. The brief era of cheap smart AI will come to an end soon, just like the era of cheap bitcoin mined on GPUs, because corpos won't fund what doesn't produce ROI.

4. Frontend/Node job market is booming despite AI "replacing me".

5. EU regulations won't allow just firing the whole engineering staff because of some AI. In Germany, you have to pay each person you fire six months of their salary upfront.

6. Big companies aren't staffed based on their needs — they're staffed based on a predetermined plan. If they have to have 1000 engineers, they will hire them first and find them what to do later. At worst they will teach them to be prompt engineers. Just imagine the growth that 1000 prompt engineers can give them. That's what investors would love to see, especially if it's "powered by AI".

Have great story about gemma3:4b. Using it in production. For at least one thing, it's the best choice out there.
