I hate searching for things and reading the top articles today. It's either mainstream crap or LLM generated. Some of it might not be LLM generated, but it reads that way because people use these things so much they write like them now!

So I wrote a simple web form that makes it easy to restrict searches by year ranges:

It's pretty amazing, being able to use modern search engines and actually find really interesting articles that would normally be lost to time.

his solution may have been to hide AI-speak white-text in the website just for the search engine to index while still keeping the human-readable website

I think the humans hate AI and want to avoid AI content, but the tech giants don't give a fuck what you want and it ain't like you have a choice, tehe

@jestdotty I must have missed that Rossman .. will look it up. As far as humans, I dunno man. I have friends who love this stuff. They use chatbots over search engines. One refused to read that particular article because of my opening paragraph stating "...too often incorrectly referred to as Artificial Intelligence..."

He's not an unintelligent guy though, but I think he firmly has an AI god.

I think devs fall into camps of not liking them and absolutely loving them and using them for everything. Even the ones who don't like them, still use them, because if you don't, you'll just fall behind at work. But you know those tests are auto-generated and are just a growing pile of technical debt now.

It's an interesting era.

@djsumdog claude listens so well, it's a dream come true. All my frontends are native web components and performant as F. Superwoei. But I'm so worried about the default frontends it normally generates. All the frameworks I would NEVER choose. All bloated shit. It will be the era of laggy software. We all need 16gb ram minimum soon for web browsing. Never let AI choose the tech. Also, when you work on something complex, did you know your llm demotivates you? Also it chooses tech from the big companies. The newbies learn all the wrong shit. Vendor lockin on steroids. Ai is beautiful but their defaults and opinions (yeah, they have them) will fuck us all.
