Typically only white girl names for your drives. Not very inclusive. But thanks for the feminism.
Just kidding. Enjoyed the article and forwarded it to a friend. Molodetz could've been something beautiful if I had such writing skills. So much knowledge goes to waste. I have a small context window or something, while it's not a problem at all with large code bases, I can't produce a coherent article. Any tips / tricks for the future me?
Now, the annoying question what everyone asks, wtf do you store? Or did I completely passed that somehow? I mean, 6gb/s and such is nice but what big data do you you have requiring all this? Or is it just about the project itself? What would've been totally my scenario. Projects itself are my end goal, always. But if you would store everything I ever watched including half Netflix (I have a dark past) I wouldn't make it to such amount of data I think. You can prolly store every version of every Linux distro in the world. SO TELL ME. 🤣 -
@whimsical I archive a lot of stuff:

Video project assets, RAW files from my Sony a6000 and Nikon Z5 cameras.
I also pirate a lot of stuff. I have 7.8TB of movies (nearly 900 movies in formats ranging from DVD to 1080p to 2160p in HDR), as well as 6.7TB of TV shows and 2TB of anime. -
i wanna make an extraction action game where you're a fattening hoarder in a hoarder house
wonder if people would be pissed, hehe -
@djsumdog that deleted YouTube video archiving project. Why is there no sumdogtube with only that content? It's a project on its own that data. I expect that you have made your own YouTube ish site for that. Else I'm a bit disappointed.

@whimsical There's already Preserve Tube:

It's pretty expensive to maintain something like that. Youtube is also making it incredibly difficult to use yt-dlp to get videos. You need to buy rotating IP proxies and have multiple Google accounts from what I've heard.
I can't even afford RAM right now.
