My first thought was. Okay. Scam alert. But you know. What if?
So I call up this person. And its a girl who got a pc from her bf, but really she wanted a mac so she is selling it.
This straight up blew my mind. I decided, fuck it. Got 500. Ran to her. Ran a systems check on the laptop. Checked for any attempts at opening it up. Checked the harddrive. Checked the ram. Everything is solid.

A former colleague made an online shopping app. Boss wanted to promote him to Senior Developer when he still working with us.
14 days ago another colleague checked the code and told the boss that it's ready for production. No one asked me because everyone in the company thinks am the stupid developer of them all.
So what happened?
Well the total value of the cart was being over to payment gateway using a hidden field. Well you know the rest of the story.
The client has sued our company for this issue and boss came running to me and asked me to check if it was our fault or something else.
I checked and found the hidden value where the total value of cart was being stored and send over to payment gateway. The following is the conversation between me and the colleague who checked the code:
Me: So you checked the code and everything was okay?
Him: Yes, all good.
Me: Did you see this hidden field where the total value of cart is being passed to the payment gateway?
Him: Yes
Me: Why didn't you fix this?
Him: What's there to fix?
Me: Well someone can temper the value and let it pass to the payment gateway.
Him: No, they can't we are using https
Me: I' am done with you

Once I moved to new flat that had no internet connection yet, so I went to restaurant located under my apartment, that had WiFi secured with password. I asked for it while waiting for the order - it was "A1B2C3D4". After a while I got anoyed that it was so slow, so checked if can acces router admin page and restrict access for their clients. It turned out I can and they used default login and password, so they ended up with only my MAC whitelisted. Seemed they had connected their own business PC ("office PC") via LAN too, so I was curious if they call ISP to check it out. I checked the router settings every day, even after I got my own internet connction and they had it blocked for about 3 weeks. Then they changed WiFi password, so I came again, asked for password (another shitty one), checked router admin page and... still default login and password...9

Stupid HTML checkboxes! It's always annoyed me that you can't just set checked to true or false, but have to remove the property altogether to uncheck a checkbox. Better still would be if you'd only need to set the value to 1 or 0, and the checked or not would sort out automatically. Yes, there are frameworks to handle it, I know. But if checkboxes had been designed right from start, a framework or any sort of special cases would not be needed. You've got love HTML, but things like this make it ugly.6

Two of my team members were trying to make a website responsive for over an hour. They tested everything. They checked the JavaScript, checked their CSS media queries, tried everything but it just wouldn't work on mobile browsers.
So as usual they decided it was "impossible" due to "WordPress constraints" and told me that it would work on the browser but not desktop.
I just added the meta viewport tag. It literally took 10 seconds. It worked.
I hate people who give up easily. Just hate it.2 -
So yesterday i solved 7 tickets on my own for this project while the teammate was "testing".

After further search I realized I was missing commas within the array deceleration...

Yesterday I had the stupid idea to rename an icon file. Checked that XCode was building the application still fine. Ran it over the build server: Failed, complaining about the old missing icon file! Checked again and again, but there was no friggin' reference to the old file in the whole repo.
Log in to the machine clear the build folder and try to build the component again. Bang still same error and the references to no longer existing files reappear.
Turns out XCode was caching those references somewhere in the home directory as "DerivedData" and after deleting those, I could build again... but why on earth are you building a cache if you cannot properly invalidate it? Just to waste our time?

Today, a customer complained about a bug. I checked their account: yup, there was a bug. I checked it on my machine... nothing. It took me about an hour to figure out that they were actually just not using the feature correctly. I'd understand this from a stupid customer, but me?! FML2

Pulled my hair out over one today (and a week ago when I first saw the issue)
Setting up development environment. Created test user and test database and used mysqldump to copy data over.
MySQL was executing a function as the wrong user. Checked my config files, checked my config reader, checked my database connection, checked checked checked. Checked everything twice, I felt like Santa.
Changed the password in the config file to make sure it was logging in right. It threw an error still but not one I had expected so I figured the login still worked (My bias was that I thought the config file was not working or the mysql library was caching authentication. Both were wrong but this blinded my debugging. Foolish, I have forgotten my training)
Logged into the database directly via client. *didn't bother executing the function because I was only testing auth*

So a client came today to me saying his domain that I setup some time ago isn't working on a specific russian internet provider, checked everything and then came across a blogpost stating cloudflare IPs are blocked. Researched further and it came out that those fucking retards from the "Federal Tax Service of the Russian" blocked a ton of cloudflare IPs because russian online casinos used them like a year ago.
Then checked another domain he had a problem with and the godaddy IPs were also banned - even more extreme they were banned for like 14 incidents, what the fuck, had to create a new account to get a new ip/nameservers assigned from cloudflare, jesus fucking christ.1 -

A colleague had a look into it, but he couldn't resolve the problem neither. Instead he accidentally made an undo changes on my code, so now my code is gone again. And the solution still doesn't build. I'm just a *leetle* frustrated right now :(3

I was at school and one of my friends asked me to help with his code. He said that his image wouldn't appear on his website.
I checked his code and it was right, so I checked his images folder.
The image he wanted to put on his HTML document was something like "prev.img". I was a bit confused. A file with a .img extension? He did put his code right, but there was still something wrong. I right clicked the image and went to the properties. The file extension was .jpg.
I eventually corrected his code but I still can't find out how he fooled himself. smh -
sadly, laundry is waiting for me. A good opportunity to think why my project got an error even though i checked it multiple times. hopefully i found a piece of solution in every clothes...

TL:DR; Samsung pc to phone app was shit.
So samsung last time had an app that links music, etc from folder directly which means it doesnt copy but uses those files unlike itunes which was to navigate, but thats another thing altogether

I really cannot see why there still isn't an API in Java where I can get an hashing algorithm without having to catch a checked exception.
Granted, Bouncy castle is a top library. But of you just have a small application with a single method wanting to hash a few values... It's so nuts and unnecessary.
So what do you do in the catch block? Either throw a checked exception (because without that hash your app won't work), or calculate a replacement. But if it were that easy, I wouldn't have needed a hash on the first place.
I really wonder what the java developers had in mind.
Same with IO exception. I'm beginning to like python more and more.

SSH kept defaulting back to port 22 when it wasn't supposed to. So, wrote a cronjob that checked diff between SSH config and backed up SSH config. If different, reload backup. Didn't get locked out again.

Checked it out and it looks really well made. You can build a Cluster in Minutes and mount a phyisical storage to it.

Did git go back to using “master” instead of the new “main” as its default branch name? Because when you create a new repo on GitHub now, they explicitly ask you to rename the branch to “main”. I checked by doing ‘git status’ on a newly initialized repository and it still shows “on branch master”.

Facebook Pages Manager Android app is not working properly. I am not receiving push notifications when people contact me via page inbox. Already tried everything I could think of: disabling battery saving for pages manager app, making sure notifications are all checked in facebook page settings and etc. Any idea how to fix this?

Postgresql fucking sucks.
Checked 17th time the whole. The code was fuckin perfect .
But the postgresql and sequelizer gives error whenever I try to insert anything to the DB.
