F*CKING DESIGNERS.
Stop sending me your freaking PNG. Don't even dare to FREAKIN' make me use Chrome DevTools to get your FREAKIN' color our of your FREAKIN' PNG.
Give me all your colors in FREAKIN' hex, rgba, or whatever you want.
Give me all the fonts you used.
Give me all the sizes, is it percentage-based? Pixels based? Donuts-based?
I don't give a damn that you think you went responsive-first. Show me the damn responsive mockups. Not just the desktop sized with a note: "Don't worry mate, I made so that it all goes well when responsive".
Oh god. Oh god.
I'm not an artist, I give zero shit about how great it looks.
I'm a programming poet, I want to write code without having to open (or download it first through torrent) the damn photoshop, sketch, or whatever you use.
They take freakin' months to dump a mockup and we have days to make it happen. The pain.
The pain is strong with those damn designers.
Fuck.46 -
preface: I'm fucking exhausted and angry.
Why does everyone assume I know how to do frontend?
Why am I always the design girl?
Why?
You hire me to do backend. STOP GIVING ME FRONTEND DESIGN CRAP. I HATE IT.
AND STOP GODDAMN YELLING AT ME FOR NOT MAKING SOMETHING RESPONSIVE.
I DON'T KNOW HOW.
yes i can learn, but I CAN'T FUCKING PICK UP A SKILL LIKE THAT IN A DAY. Also, I fucking hate it.
STICK IT UP YOUR (min-width: 1400px) ASS.
But seriously, I've spent 13 hours today figuring out completely new things (webpack, susy, express.js, cloudinary, responsive best practices, more webpack) because the boss is in panic-mode (his preferred state) and wants this project released last monday.
guess what? it isn't done.
because i still don't know how to do everything. and ofc there's nobody to ask because there never fucking is.
Seriously, boss-man. hire a fucking designer, and stop being an illiterate sales goon while you're at it. ffs.53 -
A client called
Client: Hello Mr. Can you come to our office today?
Me: Yes sure
In fews hours I was there
Client: Check this email we are getting every day
It was email from spammers who asking to redesigning their website because it was not responsive
Me: 🧐Thinking ‘valid point !’
Me: So what you need me to do for you then?
Client: We need you to redesign the site
Lol - thanks spammers for bringing in new client12 -
My recent failure to build a responsive website according to a template tells me I should have worked with CSS a bit more.
The thing is, I write the type of CSS that passes the CSS validation with flying colors, but doesn't work as it should. Am I a minority(I hate that word), in that?
Now I have to redo the website or I'm not passing the exam. Lovely.5 -

// devRant unofficial UWP update (v2.0.0-beta)
//
After several concepts, about 11 months of development (keep in mind that I released 20 updates for v1 in the meantime, so it wasn't a continous 11 months long development process) and a short closed beta phase, v2 is now available for everyone (as public beta)! :)
I tried to improve the app in every aspect, from finally responsive and good looking UI on Desktop version to backend performance improvements, which means that I almost coded it from scratch.
There are also of course a few new features (like "go to bottom" in rants), and more to come.
It's a very huge update, and unfortunately to move forward, improve the UI (add Fluent Design) and make it at the same level of new UWP apps, I was forced to drop the supported for these old Windows 10 builds:
- Threshold 1 (10240)
- Threshold 2 (10586)
Too many incompatiblity issues with the new UI, and for 1 person with a lot of other commitments outside this project (made for free, just for passion), it's impossible to work at 3 parallel versions of the same app.
I already done something like that during these 11 months (every single of the 20 updates for v1 needed to be implemented a second time for v2).
During the closed beta tests, thanks to the awesome testers who helped me way too much than I ever wished, I found out that there are already incompatiblity issues with Anniversary Update, which means that I will support two versions:
1) One for Creators Update and newer builds.
2) One for Anniversary Update (same features, but missing Fluent Design since it doesn't work on that OS version, and almost completly rewritten XAML styles).
For this reason v2 public beta is out now for Creators Update (and newer) as regular update, and will be out in a near future (can't say when) also for the Anniversary Update.
The users with older OS versions (problem which on PC could be solved in 1-2 days, just download updates) can download only the v1.5.9 (which probably won't be supported with new updates anymore, except for particular critcal bug fixes).
So if you have Windows 10 on PC and want to use v2 today, just be sure you have Creators Update or Fall Creators Update.
If you have Windows 10 PC with Anniversary Update, update it, or if you don't want to do that, wait a few weeks/months for the update with support for your build.
If you have an older version on PC, update it, or enjoy v1.5.9.
If you have Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update, update it (if it's possible for your device), or just wait a few weeks/months for the update with support for your build.
If you have Windows 10 Mobile, and because of Microsoft stupid policy, you can't update to Anniversary Update, enjoy v1.5.9, or try the "unofficial" method (registry hack) to update to a newer build.
I hope it's enough clear why not everyone can receive the update today, or at all. :P
Now I would like to thank a few people who made this possible.
As always, @dfox who is always available for help me with API implementations.
@thmnmlist, who helped me a lot during this period with really great UI suggestions (just check out his twitter, it's a really good person, friend, designer and artist: https://twitter.com/thmnmlist).
And of course everyone of the closed beta testers, that reported bugs and precious suggestions (some of them already implemented, others will arrive soon).
The order is random:
@Raamakrishnan
@Telescuffle
@Qaldim
@thmnmlist
@nikola1402
@aayusharyan
@cozyplanes
@Vivaed
@Byte
@RTRMS
@tylerleonhardt
@Seshpengiun
@MEGADROID
@nottoobright
Changelog of v2.0.0-beta:

This is the first FUCKING time i succesfully made a responsive site without any frameworks on my own, and i couldnt be more proud.
I mean the design sucks ass but thats not the point.26 -
I go to unlock my car, but the button I usually use is gone. Instead now it unlocks by long-pressing the car handle.
Ok, got it.
Then my ignition isn't there? Oh, it's in the middle of the steering wheel now? Ok.. but it doesn't work? Oh I have to sign in with Google or Facebook, alright...
Wait, where's my odometer? Oh this is "card" view, and I guess I want "compact" view, huh. Is there a dark theme? Guess not.
Why can't I shift? Oh the stick is a hamburger button now, weird. Um, and reverse is in a sub-menu? That's going to get annoying.
Alright just need to look in the mirror to see if.. wtf? You call this "responsive" or something? I can't see out that tiny window.
I'm very disappointed in all this, I wonder if I can roll back. Oh WHERE ARE THE BRAKES OH GOD

When I was looking for an internship...
- Hello, I noticed your cv and you have a great portfolio! Are you familiar with responsive design?
- I have a basic knowledge on that, i am not an expert.
- Ok, can you come for an interview on Monday?
-Sure
Monday morning....
Interview with CEO...
- What's your experience with responsive design?
- I have a basic knowledge on that, i am not an expert.
- Sorry I need someone expert
- But the job is for junior dev and it's an internship
- Yes but man hours of someone to training you will be a cost for me.
- Ok, thank you
(Step before closing the door)Btw you should had check my portfolio, 4/8 websites are responsive.4 -
I have been a mobile developer working with Android for about 6 years now. In that time, I have endured countless annoyances in the Android development space. I will endure them no more.
My complaints are:
1. Ridiculous build times. In what universe is it acceptable for us to wait 30 seconds for a build to complete. Yes, I've done all the optimisations mentioned on this page and then some. Don't even mention hot reload as it doesn't work fast enough or just does not work at all. Also, buying better hardware should not be a requirement to build a simple Android app, Xcode builds in 2 seconds with a 8GB Macbook Air. A Macbook Air!
2. IDE. Android Studio is a memory hog even if you throw 32GB of RAM at it. The visual editors are janky as hell. If you use Eclipse, you may as well just chop off your fingers right now because you will have no use for them after you try and build an app from afresh. I mean, just look at some of the posts in this subreddit where the common response is to invalidate caches and restart. That should only be used as a last resort, but it's thrown about like as if it solves everything. Truth be told, it's Gradle's fault. Gradle is so annoying I've dedicated the next point to it.
3. Gradle. I am convinced that Gradle causes 50% of an Android developer's pain. From the build times to the integration into various IDEs to its insane package management system. Why do I need to manually exclude dependencies from other dependencies, the build tool should just handle it for me. C'mon it's 2019. Gradle is so bad that it requires approx 54GB of RAM to work out that I have removed a dependency from the list of dependencies. Also I cannot work out what properties I need to put in what block.
4. API. Android API is over-bloated and hellish. How do I schedule a recurring notification? Oh use an AlarmManager. Yes you heard right, an AlarmManager... Not a NotificationManager because that would be too easy. Also has anyone ever tried running a long running task? Or done an asynchronous task? Or dealt with closing/opening a keyboard? Or handling clicks from a RecyclerView? Yes, I know Android Jetpack aims to solve these issues but over the years I have become so jaded by things that have meant to solve other broken things, that there isn't much hope for Jetpack in my mind 😤
5. API 2. A non-insignificant number of Android users are still on Jelly Bean or KitKat! That means we, as developers, have to support some of your shitty API decisions (Fragments, Activities, ListView) from all the way back then!
6. Not reactive enough. Android has support for Databinding recently but this kind of stuff should have been introduced from the very start. Look at React or Flutter as to how easy it is to make shit happen without any effort.
7. Layouts. What the actual hell is going on here. MDPI, XHDPI, XXHDPI, mipmap, drawable. Fuck it, just chuck it all in the drawable folder. Seriously, Android should handle this for me. If I am designing for a larger screen then it should be responsive. I don't want to deal with 50 different layouts spread over 6 different folders.
8. Permission system. Why was this not included from the very start? Rogue apps have abused this and abused your user's privacy and security. Yet you ban us and not them from the Play Store. What's going on? We need answers.
9. In Android, building an app took me 3 months and I had a lot of work left to do but I got so sick of Android dev I dropped it in favour of Flutter. I built the same app in Flutter and it took me around a month and I completed it all.
10. XML.
If you're a new dev, for the love of all that is good in this world, do NOT get into Android development. Start with Flutter or even iOS. On Flutter and build times are insanely fast and the hot reload is under 500ms constantly. It's a breath of fresh air and will save you a lot of headaches AND it builds for iOS flawlessly.
To the people who build Android, advocate it and work on it, sorry to swear, but fuck you! You have created a mess that we have to work with on a day-to-day basis only for us to get banned from the app store! You have sold us a lie that Android development is amazing with all the sweet treat names and conferences that look bubbly and fun. You have allowed to get it so bad that we can't target an API higher than 18 because some Android users are still using devices that support that!
End this misery. End our pain. End our suffering. Throw this abomination away like you do with some of your other projects and migrate your efforts over to Flutter. Please!

Just got a reply from a client complaining that the site I did for him is "too responsive".
Never got this kind of complain.
Normally I might get some complains about the site not being fully responsive but never was I expecting to receive a "site is too responsive" complain.15 -
I'm 20, and I consider myself to be as junior as they come. I only started programming seriously in June 2016,and since then, I've been doing mainly Android Work, and making my own servers and backends(using AWS/Firebase nd stuff).
For the first time in life, I was approached by a recruiter for a company on linkedIn. They "stumbled upon" my Github profile and wanted to see if I was interested in an internship opportunity. This company is an early stage start up, by that I mean a dude with an idea calling himself the CEO and a guy who "runs a tech blog" and only knows college level C programming (explaination follows).
So they want me to make the app for their startup. and for that, I ws first asked to solve a couple problems to prove my competence and a "technical interview" followed.
They gave me 3 questions, all textbook, GCD of 2 numbers, binary search and Adding an element to the linked List, code to be written on a piece of paper. As the position was that of an Android Developer, I assumed that Java should be the language of choice. Assumed because when I asked, the 'tech blogger' said, yeah whatever.
But wait, that ain't all, as soon as I was done, Mr. Blogger threw a fit, saying I shouldn't assume and that I must write it in C. I kept my cool (I'm not the most patient person), and wrote the whole thing in C.
He read it, and asked me what I've written and then told me how wrong I was to write 2 extra lines instead of recursion for GCD. I explained that with numbers large enough, we run the risk of getting a stackoverflow and it's best to apply non recursive solution if possible. He just heard stackoverflow and accused me of cheating. I should have left right then, but I don't know why, I apologized and again, in detail explained what was happening to this fucktard. Once this was done, He asked me how, if I had to, I'd use this exact code in my Android App. I told him that Id rather write this in Java/Kotlin since those are the languages native to Android apps. I also said that I'd export these as a Library and use JNI for the task. (I don't actually know how, I figured I can study if I have to).
Here's his reply, "WTF! We don't want to make the app in Java, we will use C (Yeh, not C++, C). and Don't use these fancy TOOLS like JNI or Kotlin in front of me, make a proper application."
By this I was clear that this guy is not fit to be technical lead and that I should leave. I said, "Sir, I don't know how, if even possible, can we make an Android App purely in C. I am sorry, but this job is not for me".
I got up and was about to leave the room, when we said, "Yeah okay, I was just testing you".
Yeah right, the guy's face looked like a howling monkey when I said Library for C, and It has been easier for me to explain code to my 10 year old cousin that this dumbfuck.
He then proceeded to ask me about my availability, and I said that I can at max to 15-20 hours a week since my college schedule is pretty tight. I asked me to get him a prototype in 2 months and also offered me a full time job after I graduate. (That'd be 2 years from now). I said thank you for the offer, but I am still not sure of I am the right person for this job.
He then said, "Oh you will be when I tell you your monthly stipend."
I stopped for a second, because, money.
And then he proceeded to say 2 words which made me walk out without saying a single word.
"One Thousand".
I live in India, 1000 INR translates to roughly $15. I made 25 times that by doing nothing more than add a web view to an activity and render a company's responsive website in it so it looks like an app.
If this wasn't enough, the recruiter later had the audacity to blame me for it and tell me how lucky I am to even get an offer "so good".
Fuck inexperienced assholes trying shit they don't understand and thinking that the other guy is shitsworth.10 -
Creating a personal website:
Step 1: Have 20mins of inspiration.
Step 2: Spend a day writing css and js
Step 3: Realize it sucks because (ugly || bad responsive design || not enough content)
Step 4 Experience no inspiration what so ever for next week
Step 5: Repeat11 -
When did “responsive“ web design become synonymous with “huge f*cking images, big ass captions and needing to scroll vertically forever“?!
Although sites like that may look good on tiny mobile screens, on desktop screens they are just freaking me out. I am not blind, nor am I too stupid a visitor to handle denser paragraphs of text in a more sophisticated kind of layout! Geez...8 -
Let me preface this by saying I'm not a designer.
While I can make individual bits of a site look good, and I'm actually pretty skilled with CSS/Sass, overall design completely escapes me. I can't come up with good designs, nor do I really understand *why* good designs are good. It's just not something I can do, which feels really weird to say. but it's true.
So, when I made the Surfboard site (that's the project's internal name), I hacked everything together and focused on the functionality, and later did a branding and responsive pass. I managed to make the site look quite nice, and made it scale well across sizes/devices despite being completely new to responsiveness. (I'm proud, okay? deal.)
After lots of me asking (in response to people loudly complaining that the UI doesn't have X feature, scale properly on Y device, and doesn't look as good as Z site), the company finally reached out to its UI contractor who does their design work. After a week or two, he sent a few mockups.
The mockups consisted of my existing design with a darker background, much better buttons, several different header bars (a different color) with different logo/text placements, and several restyled steppers. He also removed a couple of drop shadows and made some very minor styling changes (bold text, some copy edits). Oh, he also changed the branding colors. Nothing else changed. It's basically the same exact site but a few things look a little better. and the branding is different.
My intermediary with the designer asked for "any feedback before finalizing the designs" -- which I thought odd because he sent mocks for two out of the ten pages (nine plus a 404 page). (Nevermind most of the mocks showed controls from the wrong page...).
So, I typed up a full page of feedback. Much of it was asking for specifics such as responsive sizing on the new header layout, how the new button layout would work for different button counts, asking for the multitude of missing pages/components, asking why the new colors don't match the rest of our branding, etc. I also added a personal nitpick about flat-looking controls because I fucking hate them. Everything I wrote was very friendly and professional.
... His response was full of gems. Let me share a few.
1. "Everything about the current onboarding site looks like a complete after-thought." (After submitting a design basically identical to mine! gg!)
2. "Yes [the colors match our current branding]." (No. They don't. I checked. The dark grey is different, the medium grey is different, the silver is different, the light blue is different. He even changed the goddamn color of the goddamn LOGO for fuck's sake! How the fuck is that "matching"?!)
3. "Appreciate the feedback [re: overlapping colored boxes, aka 'flat'], design is certainly subjective. However, this is the direction we are going." (yet it differs from the rest of our already-redesigned sites you're basing this off. and it's ugly as shit. gg again :/)
4. "Just looked at the 404 page. It looks pretty bad, and reflects very poorly on the [brand name] brand. Definitely will make a change here!" (Hey! I love that thing. It's a tilted, dotted outline of a missing [brand product] entirely drawn with CSS. It has a light gray "???" underlay and some 404 text inside. Everyone I showed it to, coworkers and otherwise, loved it. "Looks pretty bad". fuck you.)
I know I shouldn't judge someone so quickly, but what the fuck. This guy reminds me of one of those pompous artists/actors who's better than everyone and who can never be wrong, even while they're contradicting themselves.
just.
asfjasfk;ajsg;klsadfhas;kldfjsdl.undefined surfboard another rant about the same project long rant pompous designer apples and asteroids design8 -
Long rant ahead.
Holy shit is this hard.
I'm not a dev, but I'm working really hard to become one. I come home from work every day at 7:00pm and study between 3 and 5 hours of coding, and finally I'm starting to make decent responsive web pages. I got excited, finally the studies are paying off and I guess I got carried away and told a "friend" about it.
"What?, But making web pages its fucking easy anybody can do web pages! I did mine with dreamwiever, is that even considered development"
And there goes my self steem holy shit..I know, I know its not development, Im not a programmer neither do I pretend to be one but holy shit.
I guess I wish some people would anderstand the amount of effort that can go into an app or web..21 -
Hackathons should not be judged by non-technical people.
I went to a Hackathon yesterday, and only two teams (mine included, of course 😉) made projects that I thought sufficiently fulfilled all the judging criteria.
The winning "project"? Literally just a two slide proposal about asking Niantic to turn the summer time free lunch distribution bus into a Pokestop. Because obviously the best way to motivate children who can't afford food to go get free summer lunches is to use a tie-in with a smart phone game. Because Niantic is so famously responsive to community requests. Because you can totally turn a bus into a Pokestop.
It was absurd, and I have no idea how it fulfilled the "impact" and "viability" judging criteria (as for the third criteria, "innovation", I suppose not coding anything at a Hackathon is pretty innovative!)
I knew that some flashy bullshit project would win, even if it was utterly unviable, but I didn't realize just how disgustingly absurd the winning project would be13 -
Already existing website, I was asked to do a few things to redo. Code is a mess, 0 comments, oldschool technology. Completely static html site of a small company, nothing extreme.
Client: okay, could you please add 2 more items to the navbar for the 2 new pages?
Me: yes, here they are. Since it was already full, font size had to shrink.
Client: it's okay
>> Fast forward 2 weeks, full of similarly easy modifications.
Client: could you make the font size of the navbar larger?
Me: not really, we will lose responsivity
Client: do it anyway!
>> Fast forward to next day
Client calls me that it is urgent to 'do something immediately' with the navbar because it is broken and I am a 'horrible webdesigner' for making a mess of her website. I was told that it is not her job to make it good look and that I should 'use my eyes better'.
After 2 minutes of a lecture on webdesign she let me tell her how a responsive website should look like and to achieve that we should better restart the whole website. At that point I was the idiot who just wants to get more money and that I won't be able to do that since I am already unable to finish these few tiny things she asked for.7 -
Friend: "I made my page responsive"
Maybe the layout is responsive, but your articles are not. Wanna know why?
BECAUSE YOU USE FUCKING IMAGES INSTEAD OF AN HTML STRUCTURE TO DISPLAY YOUR ARTICLES6 -
Imagine, you get employed to restart a software project. They tell you, but first we should get this old software running. It's 'almost finished'.
A WPF application running on a soc ... with a 10" touchscreen on win10, a embedded solution, to control a machine, which has been already sold to customers. You think, 'ok, WTF, why is this happening'?
You open the old software - it crashes immediately.
You open it again but now you are so clever to copy an xml file manually to the root folder and see all of it's beauty for the first time (after waiting for the freezed GUI to become responsive):
* a static logo of the company, taking about 1/5 of the screen horizontally
* circle buttons
* and a navigation interface made in the early 90's from a child
So you click a button and - it crashes.
You restart the software.
You type something like 'abc' in a 'numberfield' - it crashes.
OK ... now you start the application again and try to navigate to another view - and? of course it crashes again.
You are excited to finally open the source code of this masterpiece.
Thank you jesus, the 'dev' who did this, didn't forget to write every business logic in the code behind of the views.
He even managed to put 6 views into one and put all their logig in the code behind!
He doesn't know what binding is or a pattern like MVVM.
But hey, there is also no validation of anything, not even checks for null.
He was so clever to use the GUI as his place to save data and there is a lot of parsing going on here, every time a value changes.
A thread must be something he never heard about - so thats why the GUI always freezes.
You tell them: It would be faster to rewrite the whole thing, because you wouldn't call it even an alpha. Nobody listenes.
Time passes by, new features must be implemented in this abomination, you try to make the cripple walk and everyone keeps asking: 'When we can start the new software?' and the guy who wrote this piece of shit in the first place, tries to give you good advice in coding and is telling you again: 'It was almost finished.' *facepalm*
And you? You would like to do him and humanity a big favour by hiting him hard in the face and breaking his hands, so he can never lay a hand on any keyboard again, to produce something no one serious would ever call code.4 -
Just before you, my fellow system programmer, scroll past this, let me say this:
🍬 The web is actiually simple. 🍬
Both HTML and CSS is declarative. It's all easy when you understand the concepts, learn how to be idiomatic and quit trying to do that imperative bullshit in languages that aren't imperative.
HTML is simple. You know the boilerplate: doctype, head, body, that's all. Just mark it up and do NOT look at it before you end, mark it up as it were article or something. The appearance is up to css.
CSS is simple. You may even forget bem or rscss, you're already a skilled software developer. Use common sense and your code-splitting and naming skills you gained reading The Code Complete or doing software development for years.
Forget mockups. Forget absolute positioning, forget setting width and height in pixels. Go to awwwards, find some inspiration. Draw some buttons and fields on paper with your good old pencil. Then go and write some css. Feel free to steal some shadows and transitions from codepen.
Read about 8-pixel grid system. Let every element push away from others by setting something like margin: 16px; and whoops! You've just got fully responsive and got great vertical rhythm without even using media queries!
Oh my god, do NEVER set width and height explicitly! Type something like button { width: 120px; } and bang! The entire web page is broken. Quit that shit. Let it resize as it should. It will resize itself to fit its contents.
HTML is by default ready for your template engine. That's how you receive data from server — as server-side rendered, plain old HTML page. On the other hand, the form element is the most axiomatic and simple way to send the data to server. That's how you send it — as plain old GET or POST that every webserver can handle.
All of there are true:
1. It's easy to get great 100% responsiveness without media queries.
2. It's easy to align items in row, it's just one line of css. Maybe two, if you still want elements to wrap, but want to use flexbox:
.parent {
display: flex;
flex-wrap: wrap;
}
3. HTML and CSS are fast by default.
4. You don't need mockups to achieve great visual experience. Mockups is imperative, web is declarative.
5. You may not even need JavaScript to make great website.
Go on, ask me a question about web! I'll ready to answer everything.21 -
This was not a client but my CEO himself. The website of the company was supposed to be made responsive. So, during the design phase I was explaining how how events should not be used to display ideal information as hover don't exist in touch devices. To this, he says, "Why don't you create something so that when the user has his hand over the phone(like an inch above, but not touched), it treats it like a hover".
The worst part is I still don't know if he was kidding or not!8 -
preface: swearing.
because anger.
So. I'm trying to use Material Design with Material UI. The components and UI look *great*.
It's from google, though, which really pisses me off. but I like what I can do with the UI.
HOWEVER.
I really want a grid system for responsiveness. because obviously. besides, i really hate doing all the responsive shit myself. it sucks and i hate it.
Material Design does not include a grid system. okay, it includes a grid component, but it's not for site layout. it's for making a grid of images. or something.
What it does include is a lot of very lengthy documentation on what you should do, complete with fancy graphics saying "THIS IS HOW YOU MUST DO IT OR YOU'RE DOING IT ALL WRONG" -- but they don't actually support it! you must do it all yourself.
Why oh why would they tell you how you must do things if they don't provide the tools to make it possible? fucking google.
You might decide it's a grand idea to interject at this moment and say: "there are plenty of tools out there that allow you to do this!" And sure, you'd be right. however -- and i think this might just barely might be worth mentioning -- THEY REALLY FUCKING SUCK. Hey, let's look at some of the classes! So clear and semantic! This one was nice and simple: "xs4" -- but wtf does that mean? okay, it apparently means 4 columns as they'd appear on an extra-small layout. How does that work on a large layout? Who knows. Now, how about "c12"? okay, maybe 12 columns? but how does that display on a phone with a layout small enough to only have 4 columns? i don't know! they don't know! nobody knows!
oh oh oh oh. and my particular favorite: "mdc-layout-grid__cell mdc-layout-grid__cell--align-bottom" WHAT. THE. FUCK. I'm not writing a goddamn novel! and that one claims to be from google itself. either they've gone insane or someone's totally lying. either way, fuck them.
SO. TERRIBLENESS ASIDE.
Instead of using Material Design v0.fuckoff that lacks any semblance of a grid layout, I figure I'll try v1.0 alpha that actually has one supported natively. It's new and supports everything I need. There's no way this can't be a good idea.
The problem is, while it's out and basically usable, none of the React component libraries fucking work with it. Redux-Form doesn't work with it either because it doesn't understand nested compound controls, and hacking it to work at least triples the boilerplate. So, instead, I have to use some other person's "hey, it's shitty but it works for me" alpha version of someone else's project that works as a wrapper on top of Redux-Form that makes all of this work. yeah, you totally followed that. Kind of like a second-cousin-twice-removed sort of project adding in the necessary features and support all the way down. and ofc it doesn't quite work. because why would things ever be easy?
like seriously, come on.
What i'm trying to do isn't even that bloody hard.
Do I really have to use bootstrap instead?
fuck that.
then again, fuck this significantly more.
UGH.18 -
It's enough. I have to quit my job.
December last year I've started working for a company doing finance. Since it was a serious-sounding field, I tought I'd be better off than with my previous employer. Which was kinda the family-agency where you can do pretty much anything you want without any real concequences, nor structures. I liked it, but the professionalism was missing.
Turns out, they do operate more professionally, but the intern mood and commitment is awful. They all pretty much bash on eachother. And the root cause of this and why it will stay like this is simply the Project Lead.
The plan was that I was positioned as glue between Design/UX and Backend to then make the best Frontend for the situation. Since that is somewhat new and has the most potential to get better. Beside, this is what the customer sees everyday.
After just two months, an retrospective and a hell lot of communication with co-workers, I've decided that there is no other way other than to leave.
I had a weekly productivity of 60h+ (work and private, sometimes up to 80h). I had no problems with that, I was happy to work, but since working in this company, my weekly productivity dropped to 25~30h. Not only can I not work for a whole proper work-week, this time still includes private projects. So in hindsight, I efficiently work less than 20h for my actual job.
The Product lead just wants feature on top of feature, our customers don't want to pay concepts, but also won't give us exact specifications on what they want.
Refactoring is forbidden since we get to many issues/bugs on a daily basis so we won't get time.
An re-design is forbidden because that would mean that all Screens have to be re-designed.
The product should be responsive, but none of the components feel finished on Desktop - don't talk about mobile, it doesn't exist.
The Designer next to me has to make 200+ Screens for Desktop and Mobile JUST so we can change the primary colors for an potential new customer, nothing more. Remember that we don't have responsiveness? Guess what, that should be purposely included on the Designs (and it looks awful).
I may hate PHP, but I can still work with it. But not here, this is worse then any ecommerce. I have to fix legacy backend code that has no test coverage. But I haven't touched php for 4 years, letalone wrote sql (I hate it). There should be no reason whatsoever to let me do this kind of work, as FRONTEND ARCHITECT.
After an (short) analysis of the Frontend, I conclude that it is required to be rewritten to 90%. There have been no performance checks for the Client/UI, therefor not only the components behave badly, but the whole system is slow as FUCK! Back in my days I wrote jQuery, but even that shit was faster than the architecuture of this React Multi-instance app. Nothing is shared, most of the AppState correlate to other instances.
The Backend. Oh boy. Not only do we use an shitty outated open-source project with tons of XSS possibillities as base, no we clone that shit and COPY OUR SOURCES ON TOP. But since these people also don't want to write SQL, they tought using Symfony as base on top of the base would be an good idea.
Generally speaking (and done right), this is true. but not then there will be no time and not properly checked. As I said I'm working on Legacy code. And the more I look into it, the more Bugs I find. Nothing too bad, but it's still a bad sign why the webservices are buggy in general. And therefor, the buggyness has to travel into the frontend.
And now the last goodies:
- Composer itself is commited to the repo (the fucking .phar!)
- Deployments never work and every release is done manually
- We commit an "_TRASH" folder
- There is an secret ongoing refactoring in the root of the Project called "_REFACTORING" (right, no branches)
- I cannot test locally, nor have just the Frontend locally connected to the Staging webservices
- I am required to upload my sources I write to an in-house server that get's shared with the other coworkers
- This is the only Linux server here and all of the permissions are fucked up
- We don't have versions, nor builds, we use the current Date as build number, but nothing simple to read, nonono. It's has to be an german Date, with only numbers and has always to end with "00"
- They take security "super serious" but disable the abillity to unlock your device with your fingerprint sensor ON PURPOSE
My brain hurts, maybe I'll post more on this shit fucking cuntfuck company. Sorry to be rude, but this triggers me sooo much!2 -
Forget about Internet explorer compatibility, EMAIL TEMPLATES are the actual worst. Outlook uses the same html rendering engine as MS WORD. It's sooo painful. All the bad practices you had to do 15 years ago, you have to do when you write email templates.
YOU WILL NOT KNOW PAIN until you have to make an email template, that works in Gmail, Yahoo Mail, OUTLOOK, outlook.com, outlook for mac, MOBILE, Android, the gmail app, IOS, apple mail, and so on. And after you make an unholy abomination of table garbage, then having to make it responsive/mobile friendly after all that!
If something is broken in one client, fixing it will break something in a different client! And then having to take a stab in the dark to try to fix it and then sending yet another test email (which costs $ per test)
I must have slashed decades off my life having to build email templates. It really is horrendous. There are frameworks like Zurb for email that at least let you feel like you're using a modern workflow. But things break just as often.
Honestly if you have the option, use a wysiwyg editor for building emails. At least when it does break (and they all will) you can at least blame the software.
Which is better than spending 4 hours on why that table cell doesn't line up correctly in outlook.7 -
tldr:
everyone got the same hardware because senior dev liked it
So my project team was allowed to buy some hardware (monitors/keyboards/mouses etc.) so teamleader asked what we want.
senior dev: i need 1 monitor because i like to work with 1 monitor. i prefer this 27' zoll 4k monitor for around 1k dollars. since i work with multiple pc's i like this bluetooth keyboard and mouse because u can pair them with them and switch witch a click between the pc's costs around 300 dollar (1 setup of this costs 1'300 dollars)
me: so i like to use 2 monitors because i tried out multiple setups and this works for me the best (also what i have at home). but they dont need to be fancy. 2x 24' zoll montitors for each 200 dollar are enaugh (together 400 doller)
i also only work with 1 laptop and would like to have just a simple keyboard and mouse with cable because everytime they dont respons or battry runs out im fk triggered. so for me its okey if its this 30 dollar keyboard and 20 dollar mouse. it would be cool if i could get this mechanical keyboard for 80 dollars but not really needed. i only prefer mechanical keyboards a little bit more. and also i would like this mousepad i really like. it makes the mouse super responsive it's also just 10 dollars (this setup cost 510)
so at the end the teamleader was like. ah u know what senior dev has more xp and knows whats better for coding so we only buy this for every dev. but that 10 dollar mouse pad is okey u can get this extra its not that expensive.
WTF why u dont give me the cheaper setup which i more like. and why u even ask.4 -
When a Coursera course is way better than the one offered by your university…
A university student's rant...
I study Electrical and Computer Engineering and during the first semester of the second year I selected an optional course: Web Programming. It was believed among students that the course would be really easy, and it was. All the student had to do was build a very simple website using HTML, CSS and a few line of JS. A website containing three or four pages all of which had to be validated using a markup validation service.
Yeah, sure, I passed the course just like everyone else who bothered enough to spend an hour or two working on the project. Oh, I almost forgot! We had an one-hour workshop on Dreamweaver!
So, by that point, everybody was a front-end developer, right?!
That happened over three years ago, and because of that course web-development didn’t impress me…
Thankfully, the last few months I’ve became interested in Web Development, and I’ve been reading some articles, spending time on smashing magazine, making some progress on FreeCodeCamp and taking relevant courses on Coursera!
In fact, a few days ago I completed the Coursera course “HTML, CSS and Javascript for Web Developers”.
Oh boy, the things I didn’t know that I didn’t know…
<sarcasm>Did you know there was a term called “responsive design” and that there are frameworks like bootstrap?</sarcasm>
Well, I d i d n ’ t k n o w ! ! ! (even though I had taken the university’s course).
I understand that bootstrap was introduced in 2011 and I took the university course in late 2012, but by that time, bootstrap was quite popular and also there were other frameworks available before bootstrap that could have been included in the course! (even today, there is no reference in responsive design in the university’s course).
In just five weeks the coursera course managed to teach me more, in a more organized and meaningful way than my university’s course in a whole semester!
When I started the coursera course I shared it with a friend of mine. His response: “yeah, sure, but web development is pretty easy… I didn’t spend much time to complete that project three years ago!”
That course three years ago gave birth to misconceptions in students' minds that web development is easy! Yeah, sure, it can be easy to built a simple, non responsive, non interactive website! But that's not how the world works nowadays , right?!
A few months ago, in the early days of August, I attended Flock, the Fedora community conference. During a break I spent some time speaking with a Red Hat employee about student internships. He told me, and I paraphrase: “We know that students don’t have a solid background and that they haven’t learned in the university what we need them to!”
Currently I’m planning to apply for a front-end developer internship position here in Greece.
Yesterday I wrote my CV, added university courses relevant to that position and listed coursera courses under independent coursework… While writing those I made these thoughts…
What if that course 3 years ago was as good as the coursera course… all the things I’d know by now…6 -
Please. Hear me out.
I've been doing frontend for six years already. I've been a junior dev, then in was all up to the CTO. I've worked for very small companies. Also, for the very large ones. Then, for huge enterprises. And also for startups. I've been developing for IE5.5, just for fun. I've done all kinds of stuff — accessibility, responsive design (with or without breakpoints), web components, workers, PWA, I've used frameworks from Backbone to React. My favourite language is CSS, and you probably know it. The bottom line is, you name it — I did it.
And, I want to say that Safari is a very good browser.
It's very fast. Especially on M1 Macs. Yes, it lacks customization and flexibility of Firefox, but general people, not developers, like to use it. Also, Safari is very important — Apple is a huge opposing force to Google when it comes to web standards. When Google pushes their BS like banning ad blockers, Apple never moves an inch. If we lose Safari, you'll notice.
As for the Safari-specific bugs situation, well… To me, Safari serves as a very good indicator: if your website breaks in Safari, chances are you used some hacks that are no good. Safari is a good litmus test I use to find the parts of my code that could've been better.
The only Safari-specific BUG I encountered was a blurry black segment in linear gradients that go from opaque to transparent. So, instead of linear-gradient(#f00, transparent), just do linear-gradient(#f00f, #f000).
This is the ONLY bug I encountered. Every single time my website broke in Safari other than that, was for some ugly hack I used.
You don't have to love it. I don't even use it, my browser of choice is Firefox. But, I'm grateful to Safari, just because it exists. Why? Well, if Safari ceases to exist, Google will just leave both W3C and WhatWG, and declare they'll be doing things their way from now on. Obey or die.
Firefox alone is just not big enough. But, together with Safari, they oppose Google's tyranny in web standards game.
Google will declare the victory and will turn the web into an authoritarian dictatorship. No ad blockers will be allowed. You won't be able to block Google's trackers. Google already owns the internet, well, almost, and this will be their final, devastating victory.
But Safari is the atlas that keeps the web from destruction.22 -
Well let's do this group rant thing.
I had to build 5 responsive Web applications in 3 weeks. Again Web applications, not websites. I slept a total of 2 hours per night in my car, and would go home every 3 days to shower.
I quit soon after.5 -
I worked for over 13 hours yesterday on super-urgent projects. I got so much done it's insane.
Projects:
1) the printer auto-configuration script.
2) changing Stripe from test mode to live mode in production
3) website responsiveness
I finished two within five minutes and pushed to both QA and Production. actually urgent, actually necessary. Easy change.
The printer auto-configure script was honestly fun to write, if very involved. However, the APIs I needed to call to fetch data, create a printer client, etc... none of them were tested, and they were _all_ broken in at least two ways. The CTO (api guy in my previous rant) was slow at fixing them, so getting the APIs working took literally four hours. One of them (test print) still doesn't work.
Responsiveness... this was my first time making a website responsive. Ever. Also, one of the pages I needed to style was very complicated (nested fixed-aspect-ratio + flexbox); I ended up duplicating the markup and hacking the styling together just to make it work. The code is horrible. But! "Friday's the day! it's going live and we're pushing traffic to it!" So, I invested a lot of time and energy into making it ready and as pretty as I could, and finally got it working. That page alone took me two hours.
The site and the printer script (and obv the Stripe change as well) absolutely needed to be done by this morning. Super important.
well.
1) Auto-configure script. Ostensibly we would have an intern come in and configure the printers. However, we have no printers that need configuring, so she did marketing instead. :/ Also, the docs Epson sent us only work for the T88V printer (we have exactly one, which we happened to set up and connect to). They do not work for the T88VI printers, which is what we ordered. and all we'll ever be ordering. So. :/ I'll need to rewrite a large chunk of my code to make this work. Joy :/
2) Stripe Live mode. Nobody even seemed to notice that we were collecting info in Test mode, or that I fixed it. so. um. :/
3) Responsiveness.
Well. That deadline is actually next Wednesday. The marketing won't even start until then, and I haven't even been given the final changes yet (like come on). Also! I asked for a QA review last night before I'd push it to production. One person glanced at it. Nobody else cared. Nobody else cared enough to look in the morning, either, so it's still on QA. Super-important deadline indeed. :/
Honestly?
I feel like Alice (from Dilbert) after she worked frantically on urgent projects that ended up just being cancelled. (That one where Wally smells that lovely buttery-popcorn scent of unnecessary work.)
I worked 13 hours yesterday.
for nothing.
fucking. hell.undefined fuck off we urgently don't need this yet! unnecessary work unsung heroine i'm starting to feel like dark terra.7 -
i am BEYOND pissed at google.
as some of you know, i recently got android studio to run on a chromebook (you read that right), but it being a chromebook and google being a protective fucktard of their crappy operating system, i had to boot into bios every time i started it.
when i was with some friends, i started up the chromebook, and left, after telling my friends how to boot the chromebook.
ten seconds and literally one press of the esc button later, he broke the entire thing.
but that's not what that rant was about, i honestly knew it would happen eventually (although, this wasn't the best time).
so now this screen pops up.
"chrome os is damaged or missing, please insert a usb recovery drive" or something like that.
well, i'll create one. simple enough.
no wait, this is google, just your average 750 billion dollar company who cares more about responsive design then a product actually responding.
i started to create the recovery usb. of course, chrome developers thought it would be a good idea to convert the old, working fine, windows executable usb recoverer, and replace with with a fucking chrome extension.
i truly hope someone got fired.
so, after doing everything fine with the instructions, it got to the part where it wrote the os image to the usb. the writing stayed at 0%.
now this was a disk thing, writing os's and shit, so i didn't want to fuck it up. after waiting ten minutes, i pressed 'cancel.'
i tried again many times, looked things up, and frantically googled the error. i even tried the same search queries on bing, yahoo, duckduckgo and ecosia because i had the feeling google secretly had tracked me over the past 7 years and decided to not help me after all the times i said google was a fucker or something similar.
google is a fucker.
after that, i decided to fuck with it, even if it formats my fucking c drive.
i got to the same point where the writing got stuck at 0% and proceeded to fuck. i start spamming random keys, and guess what?
after i press enter, it started.
what the fuck google?
1000s of people read the article on how to make the recovery drive. why not tell them to press the goddamn enter key?
i swear there are hundreds of other people in my same situation. and all they have to do is press one fucking key???
maybe tell those people who tried to fix the shit product you sold them.
fuck you google.7 -
I'm really close to just quitting coding all together. This job is sucking the life out of me. I've lost my interest in code and the idea that there are better jobs out there.
My "boss" who's not even really my boss but behaves like he is, is micromanaging my every tag, and is an information hog. He doesn't document, he doesn't tell me anything, I've been here six months and still don't know half of what I need to know to do my job properly!
I'm expected to implement a new responsive design, but we don't have design specifications.
Cool, you'd think, new ideas, complete overhaul! Let's get a good foundation in bootstrap going!
WRONG! It needs to fit in with the old, fuck- ugly pre 2000 design.
Not because of any design constraints in particular, but because HE wants it that way. You know what was fucking trendy in 2000? Tables. Tables fucking everywhere. YOU KNOW WHAT TABLES ARE NOT? RESPONSIVE YOU FUCKING ICE LOLLY CHEWER!
We have no development timeline, no process management, no fucking project management. THE FUCKING PASSWORDS WERE STILL STORED IN PLAIN TEXT UNTIL LAST MONTH YOU IRRESPONSIBLE BANANA DEEPTHROATER! 😤😤😤😤😤😤
I'm doing my best here to get something resembling the old page, but there needs to be some fucking compromise! We are in fucking 2017, let's work with Bootstrap instead of against it, how about that you fucking bald cactus!
I know enough about UI to know that the way we're going, this is just going to be another unusable fucking clusterfuck.
YOU KNOW THE BEST FUCKING PART? I'M A FUCKING BACKEND DEV AND I WAS HIRED AS SUCH! GIVE ME A DESIGN TEMPLATE AND I'LL DO MY BEST TO IMPLEMENT IT, BUT FUCK YOU FOR EXPECTING FRONT END LEVEL DESIGN KNOWLEDGE YOU DUMB FUCKING SPAGHETTI!14 -
It bugs the crap out of me that GitHub.com is not fully responsive.
Mobile?
Check
Desktop?
Check
Everything in between?
Nope nope nope
Also, if you want to waste a huge chunk of time, try to google if you can contribute to GitHub.com. 🙄18 -
Old story, and yeah, it's all true, I shit you not!
So here I am at about age 11 (more or less). At the time, I had an almost brand new 333MHz beast, with 8 MB RAM, 2 (!!!) MB video card and (I think) about 300 MB of storage (yeah, I'm old :)) ).
Connected to this monster was sitting a 14" CRT monitor, mechanical keyboard and a 2 button, ball "powered" mouse.
There was no optical tracking tech at the time.
One evening, I notice my mouse starts lagging. Test it to see if Win95 is stuck. Nope, just mouse problems...
Fiddle with it a little, and at some point it stops working at all.
My room was dark now, so I got up to turn on the lights, sat down in front of the PC, and moved the mouse by instinct.
Surprise! It's working again!
My brother comes in and turnes off the lights. Mouse non responsive.
I tell him to turn them on again, mouse works again.
At this point, we were both scratching our heads at this mystery...
I decided to confirm it again using a desc light.
Conclusion: my 2 button, ball tracking, non light sensitive mouse was working only if light was shining directly oh it AND on my 14" crt monitor at the same time!!!
To this day I have no ideea why.
I kept them both for posterity, and they are still there in my parent's attic.

The more I work here the clearer it gets:
I just fucking can't make websites anymore.
I totally can't work on graphics, I can't transform a PSD into responsive HTML.
I fucking despise CSS, computers having different resolutions, having different browsers, doing mobile, doing iOS/safari which is always something extra.
I'm tired of not getting the appropriate resources and then people asking me why it just doesn't look the same.
BECAUSE IT'S NOT MY FUCKING JOB! I MAKE STUFF WORK, I DON'T MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY, I HATE PRETTY THINGS10 -
@dfox I really wanna thank you for this wonderful app..! An amazing platform to rant, share, laugh, learn ..what not for like minded people...You are so responsive towards users that you brought 'dark side' theme in jus few days ☺17

What you see in that screenshot, that was earned.
I'm on the plane and I want an hour of free Gogo (read: crappy) WiFi on my laptop (so I can push the code I'm probably the most proud of, more on that another time). The problem is that the free T-Mobile WiFi is apparently only available on mobile.
So after trying to just use responsive mode, and that still (almost obviously) not working. I realize it's time to bring in the big guns: A User Agent switcher. Small catch: I don't have an add-on for FF that can do that.
So on my phone I find an add-on that can and download the file. To send it to my computer, I initially thought to go through KDEConnect, but Gogo's network also isolates each system, so that doesn't work. So I try to send it over Bluetooth, except I can't. Why? Because Android's Bluetooth share "doesn't support" the .xpi extension, so I dump it in a zip (in retrospect, I should have just renamed it), and now I can share.
After a few tries, I successfully get the file over, extract the zip, and install the extension. Whew! Now I open up Gogo's page and proceed to try again, but this time I change the user-agent. Doesn't work... Ah! Cookies! I delete the cookies for Gogo (I had a cookie editor add-on already), but I had to try a few times because Gogo's scripts keep trying to, but I got it in the end.
Finally that stupid error saying it's for phones only went away, and I could write this rant for you.

Ffs Bitbucket, is it really so much to ask for to have a mobile responsive website in 2020 to normally review my pull requests.
Not like we're giving you loads of money for your service already or anything.. 😌

I work at a school and am involved in building the new website. Specifically as an ex Web developer myself I am acting as intermediary between the leadership team and the company we have hired to build the site. The company has a "the customer is always right" approach and will do what they are asked for so my main role is stopping the school from making stupid requests.
For example yesterday they complained that the site looked different on mobile compared to desktop. Then they complained that the (long paragraph) welcome message appeared below the menu and quick links on mobile instead of above them (forcing users to scroll down to get to navigation controls). After many more complaints and mind boggling suggestions, and my attempts to explain responsive design and reducing cognitive load, I left the meeting with a headache and an urge to spend the next three hours drowning Lara Croft.
The most difficult part of any developers role: not throwing the keyboard at the client every time they say something stupid.1 -
Just finished our BIG update including a big change in the backend (PHP => NODEJS). So I hope our users will enjoy this one because we are not yet public and our competitor get a lot of clients each day but if we compare our product to their product: Ours is responsive as fucked and have much more stability but less fonctionnalities so we have to add more fonctionnalities before releasing our product to the public. I hope we will be able in a few weeks! With only me and my back-end dev (My employee and friend at the same time) to work on it and they have 2 more devs to their team to use Bubble.. (They are now 6 or 8 devs (wannabes and using a drag and drop website) in total vs 2 (us) real programmers).
A well deserved night of sleep :P3 -
How did you break through your own barriers to finally learn programming?
My SO is constantly complaining that we don’t have enough money. I make a decent amount as a full-time dev at a large company, but we live in an expensive city and are currently going through a time of few funds.
He started driving delivery food orders, he likes it okay, but it pays very little. He still complains about money.
I want him to learn JavaScript.
He was once asked to make a website for a company he’s involved in. He only used SquareSpace, but he was never satisfied with their stock code. He went digging for JavaScript snippets he could use, and he made one of the most beautiful and responsive websites I’ve seen.
Since then, I’ve been encouraging him to learn JavaScript. I’m trying to convince him it will be a great source of additional income, he can make his own schedule while doing contract work, and he can ask me anything he wants while he’s learning. How many beginners have someone they can ask anything of, at any time?
He doesn’t want to learn. He doesn’t think he is capable. I remember this feeling before I learned to code. A chunk of someone else’s JS does look genuinely terrifying if you don’t know what it means. I want him to give it one honest try before he decides it’s “not for him,” but he isn’t open to it enough to try.
What can I do to help him understand he is capable? He’s in his mid-30s and insists he’s too old to catch up. He’s smart, detail-oriented, and I know he would write code that’s a million times cleaner than mine. He absolutely has a programmer inside of him, and I want to encourage him to simply try.
Is there something I can to do introduce JS in a non-threatening way? Or should I just accept his refusal and let it go? Thanks for any advice.18 -
Client: I want my site to look exactly like the design.
Me: Of course, but I'm assuming you want it responsive...
Client: yes, I want it to look exactly like the design on all devices.
Me: but that's not how...
Project manager: of course the site will be fully responsive and look exactly the same on all devices.
Me: but...fine.
1 week later...
Project manager: The site looks horrible on mobile!
Me: it matches the design perfectly...3 -
It was my internship and I've end up working on a law company specializing on Australian construction laws they're working on a website that will take care of all the paperworks for the contractors. They have a dev team who's working on it but they don't have a web designer. I was accepted for the job as an intern/web designer/tester. I was so happy that I've got a really cool internship as a designer but that's only for a second.
The hell starts on day one. They've told me that they're using agile workflow and that they need to make the website responsive. It was based on bootstrap and gosh their code was so broken. HTML tags overlay on each other, some are unclosed. I've tried to fix the problems and did a great job at that. Made the front page responsive and all laid out. When I went to the next php file it has a different header.php and footer.php and same problems apply and we're not even touching the worst.
They didn't use any version management and they're cowboying everything. Now that the website is on the staging server they use Cpanel text editor to edit the code! My headache started to pileup.
The Australian client asked me to provide icons and fix the colors of the website. Also the typography looks great already. I've fixed almost all the problems and I'm satisfied with the design when suddenly a new co-worker from a famous and expensive college was absorbed by the company. He worked as the marketing specialist who has no experience at web design at all. He told me to do this and that and the whole website changed. He bullied me for my skills in design (I'm an intern) and just took over the whole design. Everyone even the boss listen to him as if everything he say is right. He's skilled at design but not web design. He made the website look like a freakin movie poster.
All my works are for nothing, I got headache for nothing and I've got hated for nothing.
It was the day when I finished my internship. It was a long 3 months. After a month I've heard from my co-interns that the whole dev team was fired including the marketing specialist. Also the whole website is scrapped and has been rebuilt by a single guy who used WordPress which he did in only a month. -
Branch Manager without actual credentials (just a manager no real business decisions are made by him).
- Constantly is sick
- at home a lot doing „home office“ and not being responsive in company chat or emails
- is in home office 3-4 days a week while company policy clearly states one day a week
- watches YouTube a lot at work and calls out other people when they check their emails or quickly order something on amazon or maybe just listen to a podcast at work
- is a scrum master but rarely acts like it as in softens up rules as he sees fit
- backstabs employees in front of ceo when he actually entrusts them beforehand and says he is definitely in the employees side
- actually tried to physically intimidate me and another employee
- has no real technological background but chimes in on technical discussions and thinks it’s a new round of bullshit bingo
- does personal errands during work and books the time for it as work time
- claims people cheat on their time management entries and gets them warned and fired for it, while doing the exact thing himself
- knows he is trusted by the ceo but actually takes 0 interest in the future of the company
- tirades and gossips about other employees that just aren’t around at that moment
- is sexist at times
- very untrustworthy
- is responsible for a very toxic environment around the office
So that are his attributes - he got me warned and sacked because I supposedly committed fraud with my time management and caused the company financial harm - I had no projects or todos and was keeping myself busy with learning JS and python stuff instead of sitting around waiting for a ticket to come around.
Needless to say I’m glad I don’t see that guy any more. I’d break his jaw if I’d have to see him again.3 -
Most unrealistic deadline I've had?
The client gives us a project with A 3-month deadline. All good, at first.
3 days later they told us that they're cutting out the funding and they gave us two options: Either stop the project right away and get paid for the work so far, or somehow finish the project in 7 days and get paid for the 10 days worth of work.
My idiot boss chose the second.
Saturdays and Sundays were declared working days, everyone screaming at each other, devs running around scrambling code to make the webpage render and keep it responsive.
Forget unit or automation testing, we only did not null and undefined testing and submitted the project.
Yeah, I hauled my ass out of the company just after that.4 -
Why do so many companies think that frontend work can be stuffed at the end of the product development right before a release is expected.
And to top it off, expect all things to be working, smooth, animating, responsive, crisp, fast with 100 fucking lighthouse score.
🖕 To everyone who thinks frontend work is meh!, Not real programming and similar. Fuck you!7 -
Alright, this my fucking rant right here. Distraction? This whole company is a distraction! Boss decided to throw us all in an open work environment doing jobs that require careful concentration. Straight outta college I'm getting handed vague ideas, (make a desktop app that helps our customers put data on the internet, make an iPhone app) with out so much as an inkling of what technologies to use, just make it work.
Ok I will but when you hit a roadblock with very little resources to draw in it's hard to stay focused.
On top of that since I worked in support for a year I'm our senior support person! But sometimes support just doesn't use their brains and I'm using my time to solve very basic problems.
That brings me to my next point, the goddamn piece of shit that is our telephone. Fuck that thing when it rings it's never good. Moreover, since I don't want to get roasted for not being responsive I have the motherfucker forward to my personal cell. So I answer every fucking call and I get so many spam calls!
Not to mention I'm mainly running the hardware show around here. Shits broke I'm the one fixing it. Need new shit I'm putting the order together.
Tried to get a new guy to be the sys admin, ordered a 6th gen board with a 7th gen proc, had to pull 3 machines apart to get that sorted. Then he left bc family issues, and has been gone for weeks.
The other devs are also slam up busy, and the main product is about 15 people's piss on a plate of garb age spaghetti. (I got a lot of shit going on but at least I'm the only one pissing in my spaghetti) it's a constant run around if who does what with a code first plan later mentality causing confusion and delay.
Nobody wants to help anybody because they are also annoyed with this setup and are getting bitched at by customers or management.
Sales is mostly composed of a bunch of crackhead yes men and women who just want a commission and only half know the shit we sell and have sold 15 new features that had not been discussed. But management always says make it happen. In what priority? It's all a priority they say! Wtf.
So yea, then it brings me to me, dealing with this much chaos at work makes it seem like a high amount of chaos in my life is normal. I'm just now learning to control this.
I've had to do a lot of growing up as a person and as a developer. I've went from being the most junior to about the 3rd most seniors and I've no doubt my efforts have contributed to the growth of the company.
I'm a big believer in coding flow, and that it takes at least 15 mins to get in that flow and about 5 seconds to break it. There is no do not disturb on the company chat, everything always on fire it seems.
So fuck a lot of this, but I've done the research and where I'm at is the best opportunity in a 100 mile radius. So I am thankful for this job. Plus I usually win the horror story contest.
So TL;DR the biggest distraction is every fucking thing in this god forsaken place.5 -
"Knowing" Bootstrap or Foundation is not the same as knowing CSS. If you claim to know css and you can't even tell me what media query is or how to make a page even semi-responsive without a css framework, please do everyone a favor and fuck off.2

I really wanna share this with you guys.
We have a couple of physical servers (yeah, I know) provided by a company owned by a friend of my boss. One of them, which I'll refer to as S1, hosted a couple of websites based on Drupal 7... Long story short, every php file got compromised after someone used a vulnerability within D7's core to inject malicious code. Whatver, wasn't a project of mine, and no one bothered to do anything about it... The client was even happy about not doing anything about it. We did stop making backups of such websites however, to avoid spreading the damage (right?). So, no one cared about this for months!
But last monday? The physical server was offline. I powered it on again via its web management interface... Dead after less than an hour. No backups. Oh well, I guess I couls keep powering it on to check what's wrong with it and attempt to fix it...
That's when I've learned how the web management interface works: power on/reboot requests prompted actual workers to reach the physical server and press the power on/reboot buttons.
That took a while to sink in. I mean, ok, theu are physical servers... But aren't they managed anyhow? They are just... Whatever. Rebooting over and over wasn't the solution, so I asked if they could move the HDD to another of our servers... The answer was it required to buy a "server installation" package. In short, we'd have had to buy a new physical server, or renew the subscription of one we already owned for 6 months.
So... I've literally spent the rest of the day bothering their emoloyeea to reboot S1, until I've reached the "daily reboot reauests limit" (which amounts to 3 reauests. seriously), whicj magically opened a support ticket where a random guy advised to stop using VNC as "the server was responsive" and offeres to help me with the command line.
Fiiine, I sort of appreciate it. My next message has been a kernel log which shows how the OS dying out was due to physical components becoming unavailable after a while, and how S1 lacked a VNC server, being accessible only via ssh. So, the daily reboot limit was removes for S1. Yay.
...What to do though? S1 was down, we had no backups, and asking for manual rebooting every time was slow as Hell. ....Then I went insane. I asked for 1 more reboot. su. crontab -e. */15 * * * * /sbin/shutdown -r +5. while true; do; rsync --timeout=20 --append S1:/stuff .; sleep 60; done.
It worked. We have now again access to 4 hacked, shitty Drupal 7 websites. My boss stopped shouting. I can get back to my own projects.
Apparently, those D7 websites got back online too, still with malicious php code within them. Well, not my problem (for now).
Meanwhile, S1 is still rebooting.3 -
Updated a website for an older client today. Realized I originally wrote their website in 2002.
That web site is a fucking non-responsive piece of shit... but it is still running normally after 18 years.
Just HTML/CSS and some light JS/PHP for form processing. It's not fancy but it still performs and works perfect on Desktop and OK on mobile. Mobile devices which DID NOT EXIST when I wrote it.
Let this be a lesson to the entire new class of developers who seems to think you need some framework to develop. You don't. And I GUARANTEE if that site used any framework that framework would have been retired or updated to un-useability 10 years ago.
Meanwhile my LAMP ass "web native" shit spaghetti with ZERO DEPENDENCIES is still just chugging the fuck along.4 -
On my first week in the internship, I have to create a small website and it has to be finished ASAP. So I used Bootstrap.
After finishing I tested the website in chrome debugger tools for every screen size (design responsiveness), it was working fine. My stupidity was that I haven't tested on actual mobile/tablet.
The site was live, I send the link to one of my friends and he said "why everything is so small? looks like I'm browsing on PC". I quickly grab my phone and visited the site and it was not responsive on mobile. Started to check the code again, tested again on chrome tools it was working. But not on mobile. Changed the bootstrap file but no fucking changes on mobile.
After few moments of thinking, I realized that I haven't included the "meta viewport" tag. I felt so stupid and it was kind of embarrassing for me.
Now I first include meta tags before working on new project.5 -
Remember my rant about having to write a newsletter which works with MS Outlook?
Remember that rant by @EclipseMain about teachers teaching how to build a website in MS word?
Well. The two just became united. I had finished the fking newsletter and was waiting for approval. They kept on introducing last minute changes, a commata here and there and whatnot. I literally was waiting for 2 weeks to send that shit out.
My boss gets the glorious idea that if I complain so much about Outlook and Microsoft, lets have the secretary design the newsletter from scratch, literally copying my design, in ms word... argument: one can send an html email out from word.
...
Then they ask me which one should be send out. I say I can apply the design suggestions to my newsletter but if we sent theirs, with all the weird fonts and being even less responsive then my suggestion, it would be even worse.
What the fuck.
Also: they let me waste a lot of time on this thing to tell me later oh we have money left lets hire a designer. Why not do that from the start? Ffs... <.<5 -
Two of my team members were trying to make a website responsive for over an hour. They tested everything. They checked the JavaScript, checked their CSS media queries, tried everything but it just wouldn't work on mobile browsers.
So as usual they decided it was "impossible" due to "WordPress constraints" and told me that it would work on the browser but not desktop.
I just added the meta viewport tag. It literally took 10 seconds. It worked.
I hate people who give up easily. Just hate it.2 -
First few times being made to make mobile responsive emails (from scratch, not generators) was an utter psychedelic mess I never wish to have the pleasure of returning too.
I since have had the pleasure of refusing this, as being able to maintain this chaotic mess created which has to be able to work across the major email clients is just a living nightmare.
There’s hell, then there’s a whole other level.1 -
Today somebody claimed they have the "copyright" of responsive websites.
First of all, I'm here for almost a year now, but this is my first rant. Hello guys!
(linuxxx, call me)
This didn't happen to me.
So, it begins like this:
Some client called us and said "[INSERT_COMPANY_NAME] called us and said they have the copyright of all responsive websites, asking money."
I hanged up, laughed hard and visited [INSERT_COMPANY_NAME] website and saw this:
- Each website that uses the solution must report the domain name in order to register it.
- If a company undertakes web site design, it is the company responsibility to inform and record.
- Any unauthorized website will be considered unauthorized and a violation case will be opened.
...
Pricing (Currency Converted to Dollars)
1 Website ~$260
2 - 10 Website ~$1300
...
Well, eventually I reported this to government. I unmasked this fraud.
OR DID I?
Their site is saying this now: "We do not serve this to anyone except government now, you are making nonsense and we do not want nonsense."
So I posted it on a forum, asking what can we do.
We are suing this company now. Yeah, I said "we".
PS: If we cannot win this, I'll get the copyright of subdomains.1 -
About 3 years ago, my girlfriend had this laptop that she got from her University. She had to give the laptop back to get reset, but didn't want to lose all of her data on it, and a backup would be around 750GB.
So I suggested that I would backup the laptop (was thinking to just dd an image and go from there). So I plugged in my mobile USB and external hard drive, and started the imaging process. Given the amount of data and setup, the process should have taken about 5hours. So we left it there for 5h.
Please be mindful that at this stage in my life I knew very little about boot processes, oses, and hardware.
5h after. The laptop screen is black and it ain't responsive. Not sure what happened, the dd process was completed, but the laptop refused to boot into windows. Tried a number of boot tools, and spent a crazy night hacking at the machine. But the university had some of sort of fail safe to not allow anyone to boot into windows if someone opened bios without entering a password. Whatever this was, I spent over 12h trying to either open mount the windows partition with a Ubuntu usb or mount the corrupt dd image on my laptop.
Long story short, after throwing at it a number of fixes. I was able to mount the image, copy out all of her personal data, and reinstall a new version of Windows on her laptop. The university didnt understand why the laptop was already reset. She still mentions this to me anytime I want to take a "custom approach" to software lol2 -
I loved what Flash used to be. Most people thought it was proprietary stuff. The program was. It's language was not. And damn, did we have fun together! We rendered vector graphics from code and pushed perlin noise into bitmaps while the HTML guys were still struggling with rounded corners. Oh, those bezier curves we dreamed up out of thin lines of code!
Other people just couldn't see how beautiful you were. They hated you because you were popular, and ads were beginning to dominate the landscape. And lots of dildo's made ads by abusing your capabilities, straining you with their ugly code that didn't remove event listeners properly. I always did, because I loved you.
They made fun of you because you had to be compiled. Look what those cavemen are doing now, dear ActionScript 3.0. They are compiling Javascript and pushing it to production. They are all fools my dear, unworthy to read even a single line of your gracious typed syntax. We were faster then Java. More animated and fluid then CSS. We were even responsive if we needed to.
But... I have to move on. I don't know if you're still watching over me but I can't deny I've been trying to find some happiness. I think you would have wanted me to. C# is a sweet girl and I'm thankful for her, but I won't ever forget those short few years we had together. They were the absolute best.
Rest well my dear princess.8 -
Working on building responsive emailer for a client.
Client: the emailer doesn't seem to work with our email system.
Me: can we have access to your system to do some tests?
Client: No you are not trained in it.
Me: well how are we suppose to fix the problem?
Client: Just keep trying
Me: ......3 -
I am calling this a premonition rant, of more rants to come.
I have a feeling in my bones.
We have a newly acquired fat cat customer with bucks to blow who we have done some digital work for already and swag bag of marketing perkiness.
I will call the CEO of this whale "The Porcupine"
The Porcupine has a business degree and industry experience, nothing to do with websites or applications.
It claims to be a visual perfectionist yet never delivers an overall coherent review.
It likes to fixate on minor brand style differences in websites and apps we have built.
The Porcupine seems to be always busy with policy and legal and other things rather than participating in their own projects.
Procrastination on feedback or reviews until the day before release is common.
Many overtime hours worked, not a sliver of thanks. The haughty attitude indicative of somebody who thinks web development is like desktop publishing.
"It's just code" in response to a crash production server change they were warned was a risk that borked all of our responsive templates and took 3 hours to fix.
Their entire brand is shades of pea green, grey and lime. No serif fonts because they are suck. Arial and Helvetica are boss.
One of my devs missed a CSS style on privacy policy hyperlink text that went times new roman and I had various account directors and our CEO on phone telling me how embarrassing it was for us to let this happen.
Anyway. They pay on time and the cost estimates for all the upcoming work are juicy.
We have shitloads going on for an upcoming hard date conference and everything is already compressing.
Therefore I can already smell doom and feel those porcupine quill getting closer to my ass as I beg their AD today if we have any feedback on the 10 or so project reviews yet?

Fuck Homestead.
For the fortune of you not to know, Homestead is a sad attempt at a Wix-like build your own website platform.
However, Homestead is the most unusable piece of shit platform that humans have ever had the misery of interacting with
Lets start off with the login page. The login page is small, unresponsive and half the time just deletes your input whenever you press submit.
It's important to note that unless you're running MacOS or Windows, Homestead will send to an error page on which there's a link to contact support, but pressing that link requires MacOS or Windows.
Fine, I'll fiddle around with my user-agent, and we'll be in soon enough. But now we come to the joy that is the website editor itself.
The website editor is clunky, hard to use, and has enough menus and submenus and sidebars to make the Jira UI shake with fear. Each interface option label is either ridiculously ambiguous or just straight up wrong. The built-in HTML editor doesn't support HTML5, in the name of "browser compatibility".
CSS? Pah! Who needs it! Our psuedo-90s skeuomorphic ugly-as-shit prebuilt styles will work just fine. Responsive design? Bullshit! Nobody uses a smartphone to browse the web, so why do we need to handle it?
Uploading a file? Good fucking luck buddy. There's a complicated dance among the minefield of pop-ups that ask you to confirm some shit or modify some shit and you gotta click the right option each time or else the file won't upload.
Wanna use https like 86% of the entire web and all modern websites? That's a premium feature. Fork over an extra $10 a month
Ok ok, I made it through all that. Dig through the thousands of menus to find the 'publish changes' button, and sigh with relief.
Open up a private browser tab to check my work, and nope. The site looks like shit, even by Homestead's standards. That's because Homestead claims to be a WYSIWYG editor, but it's a damn lie. The site looks like shit, so it's time do dive back into the hellhole that is this damn site editor.
And rinse and repeat. Deal with the shitty editor, publish, and pray it doesn't look like garbage. Be too scared to test on other devices because this flaming pile of dog shit pretending to be a website is bad enough on my device.
Two more months, then I'm done with this client. Someone get me a drink4 -
My colleague has spent 3 days writing a responsive menu that has 5 items in it with no nesting that needs to move to a sidebar on mobiles.
I think that should be maximum 30 lines html and max 40 lines css. Or at least around that sort of area.
He has 150 lines html, 200 lines css, and is not even finished yet. He also made 2 entirely different menus for different screen sizes instead of using media queries...
The reasoning from all my colleagues is that its because the menu needs to use css grid (it doesn't they just randomly decided we can't use flex, float or online).
Working with people that give reasons for their garbage code that literally makes no sense every day gives me a headache....6 -
Update: https://devrant.com/rants/4676421/...
I told you all. I fucking told you. Nobody listened to me.
Good people just leave.
This dude who I look upto and is kind of my mentor in the org and has spent a decade here, just resigned.
What the fuck!!!!
And with that, the attrition in product team is insanely high, to the point that it's scary.
My manager is not responsive and is often reactive instead of being proactive.
While the leadership is super excited about the product and everyone says they are hiring more and more people in product team, the design says our product is not a priority for them and we are just left with one design resource.
I was conversing with my colleague and we both are super scared that they shouldn't scrap the product and fire us.
This seems unlikely with all the logical calculations that we did but in a capitalist system we have to be prepared for anything.
I am shit scared right now because there is no clarity on what could happen next.
On the other hand, my skip level manager is taking a lot of interest in my work and is working very closely with me and taking more ownership of our product than my direct manager.
Everyone says our product is a top priority and tech is super agressive about it.
One thing that could happen is my manager leaving and not telling us about it upfront.
In which we would just report to our skip level manager and growth chances would be even better.
But at this stage, this seems super scary to me.3 -
Today, Linux kernel 5.8 was released, here is how it runs on my new laptop.
- Realtek shit ethernet still doesn't work (no, I didn't return it, because I would have to buy at least 2 times as expensive docking station instead and it is just not worth it), but considering Realtek, it is probably not a Linux kernel issue
- Battery life while watching videos was improved pretty significantly from 6.5 hours to about 7.3 hours (1080p HEVC)
- All temperature sensors are now working correctly
- Fan is a little more silent overall, probably because of some power draw improvements
- Subjectively, the system is a little bit more responsive overall4 -

This is a simple responsive portfolio website template. You can use it and make it yours by changing things and colours to your style and liking! I made it with a lot of hard work, love and of course with code :) I'm not a professional coder, but I tried my best to make it look cool and yet still keep it simple.
you can view the Github repo at https://github.com/achaljhawar/...

— *draws three overlapping blocks of content*
— it’s not going to shrink on small screens. Maybe we can put them in column for narrower widths?
— NO! They should overlap and I don’t care how you’ll do that!
So I stripped a responsive viewport, now the website is not responsive, but yes, we have “kewl and pwetty overwapping bwocks”, congratulations! -
Recently one of my friends got an internship in front-end web, today he messaged me "dude, where I can find a responsive template for xyz category." I gave the link to that.
I told, "why you guys not using bootstrap to make responsive, to begin with".
He said, "my mentor said no to that."
I'm like, you guys download a fucking template but can't use bootstrap. wow.13 -
Each time I try firefox after somebody mentions it again or it's in my rss feed, it still seems to never actually advance
It's stuck and either gets worse or goes back to its stable non improving level again, how come do they still not have a proper mobile responsive tester, why are even the upgraded addons still suffering the same container and rendering bugs
how is it more important getting bad image by implementing mr robot malware, than getting on an actual competitive level
why is it default bloated with random pocket addon bullshit, why did it begin to lag, ..
I remember when I was using firefox for a good portion of my life and laughed at how google chrome is laggy, but nowadays theres simply no competition to chrome, its stability and developer tools
I wish there was competition, the grid tools were a great start, but then nothing followed and they just went back to their never improving flatline16 -
Shows client site in progress on demo server. I tell them not all of the responsive styles on a chunk of the pages are done yet.
Client: Everything looks wrong. If it's not working it should say 'coming soon'
Me: This is a demo server, it will be finished before the production server for sure
Client: Put coming soon up please1 -
Agency hires me to convert a 4 column + sidebar + pattern backgrounds email to responsive, for a big client, I make a redesign, simplifying it (less columns, flat...) to avoid issues, client insists, exactly the same design is needed.
I tell him its almost impossible but I will try, and try, and try, many times, but on their old Outlook, some email parts are not aligned (just that), try, and try, many hours, many days beyond budget... all the times since first explaining that perfection is not possible with all possible email clients, and like 7% is using outlook... At that point, and before, email was so well.
Finally I put an end to this, tell them to pay and leave me alone, as they didn't take my advises and warnings serious, not my fault.
This story is nothing until the discovery I made today: the agency had signed a contract with the client, a bank, in that contract there was the obligation to replicate exactly the same design and should be perfect in all email clients...3 -

Guys, we need talk raw performance for a second.
Fair disclaimer - if you are for some reason intel worker, you may feel offended.
I have one fucking question.
What's the point of fucking ultra-low-power-extreme-potato CPUs like intel atoms?
Okay, okay. Power usage. Sure. So that's one.
Now tell me, why in the fucking world anyone would prefer to wait 5-10 times more for same action to happen while indeed consuming also 5-10 times less power?
Can't you just tune down "big" core and call it a day? It would be around.. a fuckton faster. I have my i7-7820HK cpu and if I dial it back to 1.2Ghz my WINDOWS with around lot of background tasks machine works fucking faster than atom-powered freaking LUBUNTU that has only firefox open.
tested i7-7820hk vs atom-x5-z8350.
opening new tab and navigating to google took on my i7 machine a under 1 second, and atom took almost 1.5 second. While having higher clock (turbo boost)
Guys, 7820hk dialled down to 1.2 ghz; 0.81v
Seriously.
I felt everything was lagging. but OS was much more responsive than atom machine...
What the fuck, Intel. It's pointless. I think I'm not only one who would gladly pay a little bit more for such difference.
i7 had clear disadvantages here, linux vs windows, clear background vs quite a few processes in background, and it had higher f***ng clock speed.
TL;DR
Intel atom processors use less power but waste a lot of time, while a little bit more power used on bigger cpu would complete task faster, thus atoms are just plain pointless garbage.
PS.
Tested in frustration at work, apparently they bought 3 craptops for presentations or some shit like that and they have mental problems becouse cheapest shit on market is more shitty than they anticipated ;-;
fucking seriously ;-;16 -
I'm quitting my current job. I don't like my lead, and he doesn't like me either. Our team consists of two people. Me as a Junior Developer, and a dude as my senior.
Our company used 3 different organization chat in Lark.
1 for global developer team, 1 for local developer team, and the other for the operational team.
Countdown 3 weeks before my resignation, I got removed from the global chat room. 1 week later suspended from the operational chat room. The interesting thing is that, my senior teammate who resigned the same date as me does not receive the same treatment.
I still have tasks to do and it is hard to work with teammates who are not in the same organization chat. I also need to work on my benefits which require chats with the operational team.
I already asked HR and they took their sweet time to respond. Approximately 2 weeks after I privately messaged them. How responsive 😧 Even then their answer was vague and I didn't get the what I questioned for.
I'm kinda annoyed by this. No communication, no announcement. This company is just straight up shitty.2 -

I studied BS Computer Science and one of our requirements is our thesis. All of the groups in our section proposed Web Based apps and got rejected because web based apps are too common. So we have no choice so all of us proposed mobile apps. Mobile Development is not in our curriculum so we have to teach ourselves during the development of our thesis.
All of the groups' dev collaborated and taught each other except one group, my group. Since I am a lazy motherfucker, I didn't taught myself how to develop a mobile app (android). So I made a web based app with responsive design, purchased my own domain, used android studio's webview and voila, a mobile app with a web based admin.
P.S. We got the best thesis award.3 -
Every website with a newsletter that you can't unsubscribe with just one click, but instead you have to log in, and go to settings, and select the fucking unsubscribe option, should be BANNED from internet!
In most cases this kind of website is unusable with a smartphone, or at least only the settings page is not responsive, to make it more difficult to fucking unsubuscribe.
I'm trying to unsubscribe from a fucking website since 2016, but every time I open the email with my smartphone it's just impossible to do it, and I forgot every time to do it when I'm using a PC.
Now, after a few months I received this fucking SPAM when I was using my PC, but I forgot my password, and the recovery password option just doesn't work, so I still can't do it!
If you're one of these fucking developers, there is a special place for you in hell.
Even if the decision to make it so fucking dumb isn't yours, you are still accomplice, because you should have leave this fucking job.1 -
Me: ill use media queries to make our site responsive (site is not responsive before i got here)
Me: code ...
Me: code ...
Me: done, created a PR
Senior: review... removes all the code and media queries and said. We dont have to use media queries because bootstrap is already responsive.
- BULLSHIT! We still need media queries!!!!!27 -
I still remember when I was 8 years old and used to use "position:absolute"everywhere and use top and z-index to hardcodedly place my elements in my old web projects. I used a lot of <br> and padding + margin were not familiar words to me.
Somehow these projects were responsive, too. Strange times.
Nowadays I avoid "position:absolute", z-index and <br>s like the plague lol5 -
The agency I own built a WordPress plugin for a client using a freelancer developer. The client, out of ambivalence, withheld information that would have drastically changed the design of the plugin, but by the time we found out it was much to late to start over. The developer moved overseas in the middle of it all and from then on was not very responsive to communications about the project which delayed things by months. I tried to find a replacement developer but nobody else had experience with the third-party API. The live version of the API ended up not being able to support what we were trying to get it to do with the plugin even though the test version of the API was fine and the vendor was unhelpful. And because we spent so much time and money on the plugin, we weren’t able to even begin on another part of the project. The client complained of over $30,000 in lost revenue due to these issues. Complete fail all around. I’m never doing another custom software project again. It’s all just website design from here.2

Fuck Ajax and it's stupid fucking side effects. A language should not have inherent side effects. "Oh, you like responsiveness?! How about I just remove all your events after a post?! How about that for responsive design ya lil bitch!"3
-
Protip: proposing a "simple yet beautiful" login form on Bootsnip with absolutely no knowledge of Bootstrap whatsoever, making it not responsive and centering it with hardwritten margins (such as: 'margin-left: 170px'), AND THEN proudly display "theme developed by WhoGives AShit" at the bottom won't make you any publicity at best. At worst, I'm gonna travel to India and won't leave before I erased the code you wrote by smashing your face on the "erase" key.1

The client wants the booking project to be all in JS Framework (not specifying any) and NO PHP since client hates PHP (and I don't know why) from the very beginning when the only dev was my former front-end partner (lead dev).
I was wondering why the client still continued the project, YET the file extensions were still on PHP. I asked the lead dev what happened and answered he didn't know know how to start migrating to JS framework and just started NATIVE PHP.
Still, as being a good dev and a supporter to lead dev, did accept and the project as lead dev's assistant. Fixed bugs, enhancement and responsive (DEMMIT, I FREAKING HATE RESPONSIVE) and later complained why am I doing front-end tasks, when it's not my task, supposedly. I EXPECTED MORE ON BACK-END TASKS!
(HERE'S THE EPIC ADVISE GOES AND CALLED OURSELVES MASTER)
Me: Master, why did you not started the project in JS Framework instead of native php?
Lead Dev : You know what master, this project has been already done if the client allows US to use WordPress for this project will still be migrated to JS. And now, WE are trapped to make every window size be responsive since there are already a standard for each window screen.
Me: (DO NOT INCLUDE ME IN YOUR FUCKING SORCERY! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU DID THERE AND WHY D'YOU ACCEPT THIS PROJECT, SLAVE, WHEN YOU ALREADY KNOW YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT, IN THE FIRST PLACE. STOP BEING A DICKHEAD AND DO NOT WASTE CLIENT'S MONEY AND EFFORT FOR YOUR USELESS BUNCH OF SHIT!) Indeed, responsive is a such a pain in the arse.
Lead Dev: Maybe, let's just finish our tasks first and wait the project to be migrated to JS.
P.S. The project manager and client asked me if I do know how to migrate the project from native PHP to JS framework and sabotaged lead dev. OFCOURSE, YES! But, I did not respond that quickly, unless eerm, you know, I earn greater than lead dev. Truth be told and practically speaking, it's really unfair for me if I accept the back-job when the lead dev delivers inaccurate deliverables and earned greater than me. No way, Jose!
Now, I am not working with him because I'm super done with him and later did I know, lead dev is looking for Drupal dev to be working for the booking project. -
Our new project is a responsive mobile-first web system coded with HTML, CSS, jQuery and AJAX that connects to MySQL, but the main tasks runs trough a huge application written in Visual FoxPro, per client request...the web version could manage the whole business but no, it has to be Fox.
Oh, and it's the version 6, not even using the latest version 9 with all it's "improvements". What are we, back to the past milleniun?3 -
Dear Teachers,
Please learn to make your PowerPoints in the aspect ratio you plan to present them in. I'm really not a fan of black borders.
Sincerely, Angry Student
Maybe I need to invent responsive PowerPoints...1 -
Worst "hackathon" turned out to be the boss (scrum master type) and a Magento guy (super OCD) working on a tiny tiny adjustment to a email template. They didn't really do anything and expected me to just make it all way better with CSS alone. I built out a robust responsive email in a codepen for them. They acted like they couldn't trust me to be a part of the team because I wasn't contributing - but I wasn't even sure what was happening. Between gathering refreshments and patting themselves on the back... it was hard to see what they had done. The online presentation to the magento people was pretty funny to watch though. If you think you can't have a presentation about nothing - think again. Magento is totally fucked. The word 'hacking' is not really suited to describe 'programming websites/applications quickly' anyway. 'Ninja' and 'hack' should always be considered red flags. 'Magento' should be a triple red flag: Jerk-off Jesus-complex boss, self-centered out of touch programmers, crap product. Watch out!1

TL;DR Calendar services sucks.
Imagine yourself as startup. You don't want to spend fortune on paying $5 per user per month for Google Services. Also you don't want to pay that to Microsoft for O365. You want to run it itself because you already have droplet running with your other services (ERP for example. Funny story too btw.) Ok, decision has been made, let install something.
I have pretty good experience with OwnCloud from past as Cloud file sharing service. Calendar is not bad for single user purpose (understand it as personal calendar, no invitations to others, sharing is maximum I tried) What can possibly go wrong when I deploy that and use its Calendar?
Well, lot. OwnCloud itself runs well (no rant here) but Calendar is such pain in ass. Trouble is with CalDav under hood and its fragmented standards. So, you want to send invitation to your team for recurrent meeting. Nothing weird. It sends as one invitation to each one, good. Now you realize you have a conflict, so you need to change time of one occurence. Move it, send update. And here comes shitstorm. It is not able to bisect one occurence from series. So it splits it to separate events and send invitation for every single one. 30 INVITATIONS IN 2 SECONDS! Holy sh*t! You want to revert that. Nope, won't do. So you accept your destiny and manually erase every single one with memo in head about planning recurring events.
Another funny issue is when SwiftMailer library (which is responsive for sending e-mails from OwnCloud) goes to spamming mayhem. It is pretty easy to do. When e-mail doesn't comply to RFC, it is rejected, right? So if because of some error CalDav client passes non-compliant e-mail (space as last character is non-compliant btw) and SwiftMailer tries to send it to multiple recepients (one of them is broken, rest is fine), it results in repetitive sending same invitation over and over in 30 minute interval. Sweet.
So now I am sitting in front of browser, looking for alternatives. Not much to choose from. I guess I'll try SOGO. It looks nice. For now.5 -
Got one right now, no idea if it’s the “most” unrealistic, because I’ve been doing this for a while now.
Until recently, I was rewriting a very old, very brittle legacy codebase - we’re talking garbage code from two generations of complete dumbfucks, and hands down the most awful codebase I’ve ever seen. The code itself is quite difficult to describe without seeing it for yourself, but it was written over a period of about a decade by a certifiably insane person, and then maintained and arguably made much worse by a try-hard moron whose only success was making things exponentially harder for his successor to comprehend and maintain. No documentation whatsoever either. One small example of just how fucking stupid these guys were - every function is wrapped in a try catch with an empty catch, variables are declared and redeclared ten times, but never used. Hard coded credentials, hard coded widths and sizes, weird shit like the entire application 500ing if you move a button to another part of the page, or change its width by a pixel, unsanitized inputs, you name it, if it’s a textbook fuck up, it’s in there, and then some.
Because the code is so damn old as well (MySQL 8.0, C#4, and ASP.NET 3), and utterly eschews the vaguest tenets of structured, organized programming - I decided after a month of a disproportionate effort:success ratio, to just extract the SQL queries, sanitize them, and create a new back end and front end that would jointly get things where they need to be, and most importantly, make the application secure, stable, and maintainable. I’m the only developer, but one of the senior employees wrote most of the SQL queries, so I asked for his help in extracting them, to save time. He basically refused, and then told me to make my peace with God if I missed that deadline. Very helpful.
I was making really good time on it too, nearly complete after 60 days of working on it, along with supporting and maintaining the dumpster fire that is the legacy application. Suddenly my phone rings, and I’m told that management wants me to implement a payment processing feature on the site, and because I’ve been so effective at fixing problems thus far, they want to see it inside of a week. I am surprised, because I’ve been regularly communicating my progress and immediate focus to management, so I explain that I might be able to ship the feature by end of Q1, because rather than shoehorn the processor onto the decrepit piece of shit legacy app, it would be far better to just include it in the replacement. I add that PCI compliance is another matter that we must account for, and so there’s not a great chance of shipping this in a week. They tell me that I have a month to do it…and then the Marketing person asks to see my progress and ends up bitching about everything, despite the front end being a pixel perfect reproduction. Despite my making everything mobile responsive, iframe free, secure and encrypted, fast, and void of unpredictable behaviors. I tell her that this is what I was asked to do, and that there should have been no surprises at all, especially since I’ve been sending out weekly updates via email. I guess it needed more suck? But either way, fuck me and my two months of hard work. I mean really, no ego, I made a true enterprise grade app for them.
Short version, I stopped working on the rebuild, and I’m nearly done writing the payment processor as a microservice that I’ll just embed as an iframe, since the legacy build is full of those anyway, and I’m being asked to make bricks without straw. I’m probably glossing over a lot of finer points here too, just because it’s been such an epic of disappointment. The deadline is coming up, and I’m definitely going to make it, now that I have accordingly reduced the scope of work, but this whole thing has just totally pissed me off, and left a bad taste about the organization.9 -
So I was looking around for some Jackrabbit related docs to learn more about it. Then I clicked some link and the official site opens. Wtf Apache?
What is this? Babys first responsive site?

I aim to be web designer...
a little backstory, I've always been ignorant towards how much effort it takes to design one responsive website without frameworks or libraries and now that I know it's not a child's play (at least not for me), I aim to be one, I mean I look some websites' media query rules and they go down till smart watches now a days1 -
Noo, it doesn't have to be responsive, that's not in the specs we agreed on. It just has to look&work perfe<khmm> decent on any phone and tablet.
- sneaky client1 -
...just download our new app! NO! FUCK YOU! What do you think you deserve storage space and permissions on my phone? Make a responsive site or webapp or I will not use your service. Why does everything need a fucking app? Oh, you bought a new car? Download an app! New appliance? DOWNLOAD A FUCKING APP! Just bought a new Samsung phone, but already use all of Googles empireware? WELL HERE IS ANOTHER CALENDAR/MAIL/EVERYTHING APP FROM SAMSUNG THAT YOU CAN'T COMPLETELY DELETE! This needs to stop.
/rant
Thank you for listening2 -
I hate people ranting about “Uhh thats not responsive I sent a screen how I imagined it.“
Open Screen, 1918x703 px WIDE.
Explained for an hour that thats not fucking responsive. Nobody could see or read that even if I were to implement. Responsive fucking means text breaks BELOW the damn pictures to make it readable. I will never fit that on an iphone or something unless he pays extra so i can perform dark magic to force vertical view on some devices and put 100 alert functions that the device is not supported by the site.
Im so mad fuck him and fuck me1 -
Why is mobile development still a thing?
Hear me out. All these simple apps, like shopping centre discount, eshops, vinted, other kinds of webapi consumers. Many have a website and a phone app.
Why??? Why the phone app? What's wrong with just embedding your responsive webpage into a webview and call it a day ffs?
I mean, maintenance becomes trivial and there's no split brain. No? What am I missing?
Not talking about apps that rely on android/ios api, for like camera, calls, storage access, sensors etc9 -
* sees mock-up in the provided design PDF, notices a diagram that could be made with CSS
* writes responsive CSS for the boxes and makes them more appealing than in the original design
* feels proud
Skip to today, it got assigned as an 'issue', got asked to NOT do it like this, and instead extract a png from the PSD and use that instead. Despite me saying not only is it going to look bad because it's not exactly going to be responsive the way they want it to be.
Bootstrap doesn't magically make images responsive, goddammit...2 -
I guess my story is not really cool, but okay, I lost my job as a Digital designer (Yeah, I actually have a bachelor's degree in graphic design, I'm an impostor)
I lost it because I saved enough money to travel to Japan and I wanted to stay at least a month so the company didn't like it. after coming back I got a job as a content editor, I just copied old content from an old website to a new one, basic html and css, not even responsive design, then I got really into it, and bootstrap came along, the company opened a new department "Front End" so I got in, I learnt responsive design and Jquery, really loved it, I went back to Japan for a month and a half, keeping my job, I liked it, but I quit.
I now work as a remote front end and I feel stuck, I'm very comfortable as remote, don't wanna go back to an office, but it seems I'll have to, can't find any opportunities to improve remotely, and I feel like I'm missing what the "cool kids" are doing.4 -
I give software support to Rugged handhelds in a company and everyday some IT support moron comes to me with a crazy request. The day just started and...
IT Tech: "Hello, C, can you improve the touchscreen sensibility? It's not so responsive and sometimes we have to click more than one time to something work"
**breath in**
Me: "That's ok, the rugged ones that you have are very old, besides they have resistive screen, so your fingers won't do a good job"
IT Tech: "THERE'S NO WAY TO FIX IT? I guess I'll open a ticket for you to study more calmly about the issue"
**NGGGGGGGGGHHHH**
Me: "If it's not a software thing, I can't do that, I don't have hardware skills, I guess you'll have to call our provider about that, but, before you do something, try to recalibrate your handhelds, the majority of the users don't do that at the system's start and the touch experience really can become a mess"
IT Tech: "Hmmm, I'll try that, otherwise I'll back to you, thanks!"
OMFGGGGG
I am open to suggestions of a magic batch file/ .NET CF 2.0 software that will turn their handhelds into a Galaxy S6 touch experience. THANKS!1 -
Why install a native app to use devrant on a mobile phone? Your website is not totally broken in a mobile browser. Responsive web is possible in 2020, believe me and give it a try!12

Holy fucking shit are email clients bullshit.
I don't know what happened there but if you thought the chrome-firefox-ie-egde gaps back in the days were sick - let me tell you.. email clients are made by the devil himself. All of them. All of them? Yup. Because he made some of them being owned by apple, working beatuiful and no weird stuff.
But on the same end he made some of them owned by microsoft and their office Studios. They use the word engine to render html emails. Read this again. Read it without starting to cry in agony.
But thats not enough. Let's make some of them use an ie-engine and the mac os variants going to use some webkit based renderer. This way there will be no valid ruleset to make it look good on all of them, isn't this great??
Now this might be hell already. But lets pour more salt into these wide opened wounds.
Let there be Germany and United Internet, owning trash like Web.de and GMX, whose android clients going to work completely different across Android and app-versions!
Once you've mastered these, let me introduce you to gmail. Lets take only the body node of your email and do some fuck up with it, so you have to display a non-responsive variant on mobile.
Now you might be thinking "but there are web-based clients, they'll do good ain't they?" Long story short: fuck you.
Not enough.
Let's go back to ms.
Hey dude lets make it possible to scale up your whole system. So old people can read shit better. And now the funny part: let's make it so that the word rendering engine, rendering emails goes completely mayhem on your mail, so it looks like a completely different thing! (:
If you ever receive a newsletter in your inbox and that shit looks like it's planned to look like.. appreciate that shit. Sacrifice a virgin as thanksgiving for it.
TL;DR:
E-Mail needs to die. I'm doing this for over 2 years now and this shit needs to stop asap.2 -
Fuck I feel fucked up just for completing user account management, authentication, email verification, password reset. Securing all of this with ssl and checking for any security loopholes.
I can't believe this took me more than a couple months.
Well I was lazy and unmotivated.
I fucking hate crafting stupid ass routes in nginx.
I fucking hate making a nice responsive gui.
I have to design even the stupid html for the emails. Fuuuuck.
So much boilerplate on top of that with username and email validation.
I learnt regex 5 times over the past couple months, still not enough.
And now I actually have to build the functional part.
On the plus side I can reuse this stupid boilerplate if I can make it more modular and readable.
There's shit ton of comments to the point where I feel like an idiot for including so much info. It's like I've written it for a toddler to take over.
Gawd. Anyways it's over now. 50% I guess.
I can finish the rest of the server more quickly and then spend another year designing the Android application.
I'm really lazy in places where I have to design UI/UX. Although at this point it's kinda what could put my application at the top. (I'm lazy, I ain't bad.. I just hate implementing my ideas I wish I could just visualize and have it appear on my screen)
I do like parts of gui that involve little math problems that would make motion smooth and efficient. -
After months of launching an intranet for a major corporation, that ONLY were supposed to be temporary until they went over to Microsoft Sharepoint solution. They're now asking for new features, like not having it locked to their VPN, and make it responsive, maybe make it an app!
It was all thrown together and a lot of spaghetti code, because the terms were that it would be temporary from when they merged with another company till they got the Sharepoint solution up an running. Oh, and it is all run on a Wordpress 3.3 solution, they don't want to upgrade it, because they would loose some irrelevant plugin that they love.2 -
I’m working on a react codebase and company decided to add a new module.
Now im writing markup and css to ensure UX is smooth as designers thought of it.
Imagine my horror when I start to code and find out no matter what HTML tag i use, it’s been FUCKING OVERRIDDEN in the global stylesheet. AND STYLES HAVE BEEN OVERRIDDEN WITH !important
They’re also using Ant design as a component library. Guess what, default ant design classes have been overridden too. So i try to use ant design button or card, and bam, MAGICALLY SOME DESIGN FROM SOME SHITHOLE MODULE DECIDES TO FUCK WITH MY STYLES
On top of that, styles of parts of application has been written in SASS, some part of application uses bootstrap components some use third party components like tables and responsive grids to suit to their preferences. Some parts use handwritten css. Some parts use CSS IN JS and styled components. THE FUCK IS THIS GARBAGE!!!! THE FUCKING CODEBASE HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN!!!!!! YOU NAME A WAY TO ADD STYLES TO A COMPONENT, ITS THERE!!!
And the company’s management thought a “fractal” approach to maintain each individual view is “best” for SCALABILITY!!! HOW THE FUCK DID IT NOT CROSS YOUR DUMB MIND THAT FRACTAL APPROACH ALSO GUIDES TO HAVE ALL COMMON STUFF AT ONE PLACE!!!! THIS CODEBASE HAS DUPLICATE STYLES AND DUPLICATE CODE IN ALMOST EVERY MODULE!!!!
Not to mention every developer choosing to freely decide the way they should write their code without any guidelines.
HOW THE FUCK PEOPLE WRITE THEIR CODE WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT OTHER DEVS!!! SO BASICALLY I AM NOT ONLY CLEANING SOMEONE ELSE’S SHIT BUT ALSO TRY NOT TO SHIT IN THE PROCESS!! FML2 -
We have all experienced inheriting a project and crying because of quality of coding. Somehow the project works but you can't explain how.
I guess I will not blame the previous developer. I guess in most cases it's the teacher who teaches that horrible method of coding.
I may be a self taught developer. But I can gladly say that I know how to code. However I can't say the same about my professor. Who makes you add percentage based margins and paddings (CSS) And make a fluid layout calling it responsive.
Fuck you Professor.1 -
I remember when first iPhone came out, The only broken shit while browsing was panning and pinching(most of the pages did not have responsive design) but they worked. Now every fucking webpage is mobile friendly, except all of them are fucking broken! You don't have safari or Chrome? Then fuck you! Here you have this BIG fucking button that does not work. Fuck all SPA!1
-
I've had enough. I can't handle those bad designs layouts anymore. It is getting on my nerves to receive designs from "professionals" that don't think about responsive layouts, correct alignments, grid, vector shapes, use 6 different font families, and have graphics placed in the most wrong places.
Oh, and let's not forget that such design should be coded in 15h. Sure dear client. Keep dreaming, idiot. -
Rant time. Oh boi.
So, a bit of context: I am a university student in Greece and I have a desktop PC with elementary OS on it. When the unis closed down because of Coronavirus, I moved back to my parents', without my PC, only a usb stick with elementary OS installed on it. That was before the lockdown. My parents have a desktop PC and my old laptop, both with Windows rn. I'm only able to work using Linux, so I've been just popping that elementary OS USB stick whenever I needed to work.
All cool and good. Until the usb got full. It was a 16GB one after all. No biggie, I bought a new 64GB one from a well known Greek tech shop along with a webcam my mother needed. It was a LEXAR one.
They fucking took a week to transfer it. As if the closest shop to me was in fucking Germany. For context, the drawing tablet I bought from China the other day only did 2 weeks to come. During this time I could barely use Linux because my USB stick had only some 600MB free.
Ok, wtv I said to myself. I am a patient person after all. I received the USB stick, along with the webcam, in good condition, in their packaging. Alright. I dd'ed everything from the 16GB stick to the 64GB one and then I extend the partition. Everything works flawlessly. And it's faster too.
Next day, I boot up from it again. It boots up good. Nice, time to do some work. I open my editor. And it fucking freezes. The editor is not some VSCode or Atom or any of that heavy shit, it's just elementary OS Code. A very lightweight Gtk3 app. Strangely though, the rest of my OS (the dock autohide, eg.) Seems totally responsive. I try to open another app. No luck. Not even switching TTYs work. Good shit. I force shutdown my PC. I try to boot again from that piece of shit. And guess what! NO BOOT BITCH. Like, fuck you. I boot from my previous 16GB one. Linux won't recognize it. No /dev/sdc like I used to have. Ok, lsusb. Nope, nothing. I disconnect it and reconnect it, and lsusb. An empty entry appears.I run it a couple of times, and the it disappears again. I switch to TTY 2. I get read errors and usb error -71.
And I want to fucking explode
I call back to support for the warranty coverage. I wait for a good 10 minutes and a nice lady picks up. I tell her the issue. She says that the support team will call me for the issue this day it the next day.
I hang up.
It feels like some fucking prank. YOU MOTHERFUCKING TOOK SO LONG TO DELIVER MY SHIT. Not to mention that the shitty courier service they are working with wouldn't deliver the goods to my home because it's slightly out of town. AND NOW YOU ARE DELAYING MY WARRANTY RETURN? HOW THE FLYING FUCK DID YOU BECOME A WELL KNOWN TECH SHOP WITH SUCH SHITTY SERVICE?
IF YOUR BRAINS WERE DYNAMITE YOU WOULDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TO BLOW YOUR NOSES.
YOUR THE SERVICE EQUIVALENT OF A PARTICIPATION AWARD.
Foreigners' view of Greeks suddenly doesn't seem so unreasonable. Yes, we are fucking lazy asses. And we also hate that. We hate each other for that very reason. May this country not live any longer.6 -
What piece of shit coded this site?
https://freefilefillableforms.com//...
This is website people who did not file a tax return can use to get their stimulus check.
It’s not mobile friendly or even responsive in the least bit.
These people are poor and desperate and do you think they have laptop or desktops? No they use their phones.
You could have added some Flex box, now people are freaking out all over the internet.
Who the fuck would do this also this?

So I'm a young lad with a career in Front end development I love coding in HTML (yes I know it's not a coding language to some, but to a computer illiterate person it's wizardry so I've got that going for me) I've got skills in responsive design with css and skills in javascript, jQuery and a little bit of skill in PHP But I'm not sure what to go for next? I'm not much of a back end developer..got nothing against it, just never was my cuppa tea. I want to improve my skills but I'm not sure what to look into.. Any advice?2
-
You know what is ridiculous?
That another app made by Google for iOS (Google News in this case, but the same problem is present also on Google Tasks, etc.) isn’t correctly responsive...

Recommendation for mobile css queries?
I want to use one or two queries. Not more. And I find lists of way too many.
Is there a guide that covers like.. two? Two additional widths you should design? How do you do responsive webdesign?5 -
On the topic of having to make decisions as a dev that shouldn’t be made (solely, at least) by devs…
There’s a lot to like in my current work environment: I enjoy being around my colleagues, I get to do a variety of tasks, and many of them interesting to me and/or great learning opportunities, the pay doesn’t suck and so on… there’s also not much pressure put on the dev team from other parts of the organisation. The flipside of the coin is that nobody who should express some kind of vision as to how we should develop the product further does so.
Me and my fellow devs in the team are so frustrated about it. It feels like we’re just floating around, doing absolutely nothing meaningful. It’s as if the business people just don’t care. And we are the ones ending up deciding what features to develop and what the specs are for those etc. and I really don’t think we should be the ones doing that.
One would think that’s a great opportunity to work on refactoring, infrastructure, security and process improvements and so on - but somehow we get bothered just enough by mundane issues we can’t get to work on those effectively. Also, many of the things we’d want to do would need sign-off from the management, but they are not responsive really. Just not there. Except for our TM, but they don’t have the power neccessary… at least they are trying tho… -
Man I hate how CSS is treated differently on different operating systems using the same browser, let alone making the same UI heavy application perform identically on android chrome and iOS Safari.
Messing around with the css to figure out what all properties are treated differently, this is how the exact same code behaves on chrome on iPad versus Linux.
Look, I'm not a CSS genius, far from it, BUT it really shouldn't be this bad to make a responsive UI heavy application work on all platforms. I've been at this for weeks now.

So we had a requirement to build some email templates and the guy who was working on that was unable to make some good one.
And I build kinda one and ........... They liked it.
(I'm not good at frontend things and they still liked it lol)
And now they are flooding me with loads of templates to make, and I must say building RESPONSIVE email templates is a fucking pain in the ass and takes a huge amount of time if you're new and your client has provided complex designs with shit loads of fonts which are not supported by half of the inboxes. Maybe I'm not familiar with it that's why.2 -
DevFolio
This is a simple responsive portfolio website template. You can use it and make it yours by changing things and colours to your style and liking! I made it with a lot of hard work, love and of course with code :) I'm not a professional coder, but I tried my best to make it look cool and yet still keep it simple.
Mistakes are proof that we are trying!
I learned so much while making this template, if you use it, please let me know. I would love to see how amazing people can make it! I hope you'll like it!
I have used:
- HTML5 for markup
- Pure CSS3 for styling
- Bit of JavaScript to make a hamburger menu to work on mobile devices
- Font Awesome for Icons
- Unsplash for Images
You can add more things to make it even cooler! The comments in the code will help you navigate through it. Have a nice day! :D
you can view the Github repo at https://github.com/achaljhawar/...1 -
Got a BPOS company commission a website. WordPress of all things.
But that's fine.
The client sends us a PSD to refer to. Buys a theme to modify and gives us a time frame.
Stupid client. Their design doesn't even line up with the theme.
We are getting paid peanuts for this.
Font sizes not specified.
Colours not specified.
No content
Responsive design expected but not designed
Behavior not explained
Custom footer expected that took a week to code from scratch.
Custom accordion section coded from scratch
We decided that the 15 of April would be the last date. It's the 27th and I'm still fixing shit.
We didn't get paid enough for this.
The QC for the site was done on the 24th!
I'm still working on it, for free.
The liason on the client side goes to Australia for vacation and the content is not being put on the site. They ask for content work too.
I'm just about to go postal. -
Couple of weeks ago I received a negative response about a code test I did for a front and position. They only said I was not a good fit.
Today, I received another email from them, asking me to do a test. I asked for clarification, and they said they are giving me a chance to redo the test.
Sounds weird, but I'll redo the test anyway. The task is to code a responsive page that consume an api. I'm using vue, sass, git, modular and semantic code. What else should I focus?
The deadline is in 36h.1 -
Any tips to stop getting pissed at your designer's design?
I was given a frontend task after so long (I'm a backend developer who has frontend experience) and the design is very good except architecture wise it's very difficult to build. It's not impossible, but it's very tricky to implement.
Our client has already approved the design, so I guess there's nothing I can do about it
But I am getting constantly annoyed when implementing the design. Whenever I look at the design, I feel like swearing all the time. I feel the designer is very inconsiderate. The design looks very good at big desktop screen, but some part looks dumb in responsive or tablet.
Does anyone ever feel the same? And maybe have tips for me to get by?
My managers have started telling me to stop saying "it's difficult" or "it's too hard". But it is difficult! And I am getting more annoyed when they tell me that.
Whenever I tell the designer that certain part is not gonna work (because we try to make things general so we can reuse), he will argue and somehow ended up saying "come on, just think how prideful you will be after implementing this".3 -
It's amazing that SocialBlade is still not mobile responsive...
Are there even any developers working there?
Not anyone who tells them to make the site responsive?
Can someone explain? -
Can someone tell me why the fuck is it so hard to choose where to install electron apps? Selecting installation directory is a default feature in pretty much anything installable. Is electron somehow above that? Is clicking the two a extra buttons to choose a second drive too mainstream nowdays? What? Why? I use Atom, VS code, postman, cycligent, boostnote among others . The idea is good, the apps look beautiful and responsive. But bloated as fuck. Atom alone takes 1.4Gb! And I am ok with it! Really I am! But why the fuck not let me install it in a drive where I have 70% of space free and instead make me use my crammed SSD? Why? WHY?1

FUCK APPLICATION LEVEL FIREWALLS!
So i cam online today, thought already lets open the shitty outlook webmail client. Holy crap .... thats way to much mails. Many of them are missed teams messages. So i open up teams and holy crap. Like every third dev in my company send me a message screaming "gitab is not working!!!".
Yesterday i updated it so imediately get in panic mode - what the shitty hack have i done?!
So yeah gitlab seems to be working just fine, everything is speedy and responsive, so i call one of my fellow devs and ask him whats wrong? And he is like oh yeah there comes a ldap error saying timeout or something.
I try to login with active directory. Works like a charm. Try another account, same problem?!
Google the problem, search gitlab tickets. Nope there is no open bug or sth. like this.
So alright lets call the network guy. "Yo, can you check if there is something ldap-like getting blocked to the gitlab server?" - He is like oh yeah damn like almost every damn request is getting blocked. Ah wait, there was an firewall update yesterday too. Yeah ldap is no longer ldap. BLOCK THAT SHIT!
After 10 minutes of figuring out what shitty type is detected by the firewall and what needs to be whitelisted to make it fucking work again it seems to work.
But ha no, there is another update rolling on, so same shit like 15 minutes later.
Now it seems to work and i have to inform every damn fcking developer that it works again. And yeah alright you sent a mail, but fuck it, i will call you though! So yeah just answering calls, mails and chat messages. Like why the fuck cant you read your mails like a damn normal person?!1 -
Not so much learn to program, as learn to program in a new language:
As an intern I continually have people around me asking favours in the IT company I work for.
One day the lead of marketing comes in saying our website isn't responsive. She asked if I could work with html, CSS etc. to fix it... And offered me an entire pizza if I could get it done by the next day.
Needless to say, I now have a free pizza waiting for me. -
Who doesn't love customer support?
So anyway, I'm the point-of-contact at our company for a specific tool we use, sold by an external vendor, whose yearly licenses cost five-digits per user. I've been the point of contact for around three years now, and most of the time it's people way more senior than me asking for help with [specific edge case] and I send them on their way with the solution. Sometimes that isn't the case though, and I need to send an email off to [vendor]'s support team.
Good support is lovely. Our go-to guy on their support team was great. Timely responses, thorough, and always willing to dig to the bottom of the case. Sometimes it's us being stupid and not knowing what the [obscure feature] toggle does, sometimes it's just a mis-match between what we're trying to do and how the tool was designed, and sometimes it's a sneaky, devious bug in their product. I still remember the pride I felt when we got an email notification for the latest release of the tool that contained a bugfix that I had gone over with their dev team on call to figure out how to reproduce.
However, just over a year ago they changed our go-to guy. It started off small. The new guy was more terse in his responses. Less attentive to the little details in the message. Gather as much information as possible first, deal with the actual problem we were having second. He'd fix the immediate problem, but more open-ended questions about best practices to avoid another mess in the future would be ignored.
But slowly it got worse. Less responsive. Entire paragraphs of context would be ignored and had to be repeated to him. More generic responses. The odd case got dropped entirely. Last time I opened a support ticket, when I asked for additional clarification I got a ChatGPT-ass response only tangentially related to the actual context of my question (you could tell it was copy-pasted because he didn't even bother to paste without formatting).
Now upper management is unhappy with [tool] and are on my ass to get them to solve all our problems with it. What does new support guy reply with to my ticket with clearly bulleted questions, written in bold to separate them for clarity from the surrounding context? A two-line, nonspecific request for information entirely unrelated to the issue at hand, to the point that me and everybody from my company in cc privately went "why the fuck would we even send that??".
These next few weeks are going to be fucking rough, dear god may this be over soon.1 -
Did some webdesign, not sure yet of how I want to continue, navbar is done & responsive, so that's something. The hero banner looks kinda empty though... What do you folks think of it ?

Hey guys, need help from some web devs. I have few stores and I coded a php/html table for reporting purposes. I don't like that table, also its not responsive on mobile phone. Any advice how could I change the layout up?

I’m too dumb to learn frontend frameworks.
I’m a backend developer, not the greatest but I get the work done. I can understand different programming languages even if I don’t write in them, you just understand basic principles and know what’s going on.
I can do some work in HTML, CSS and some JS.
But what the hell is with those popular frontend frameworks. I thought I pretty much understand how it works, so started doing some crap on my own, some pretty responsive navbar with dropdowns to start. Nevermind a million of npm packages to just start working and some weird errors in website source (“JavaScript is not enabled”, I spent few hours trying to fix it, but it’s just there, everything is working fine even with this message there). I have pretty navbar, nice, time to add dropdown.
Nope, not working. Maybe classic css solution?
Nope.
Ok, time to Google. What do I find? A million of npm dependencies that provide dropdowns, for some you need to pay, wtf.
But I want to write one on my own.
Found few tutorials that wasn’t even remotely helpful, it’s like with the online recipes, “when I was growing up on the farm…” and then something that it’s not working.
Finally found some nice looking tutorial, was following that and then.. it ended. It was maybe half of the solution, dude forgot about some components and just left.
I quit, I’m going back to writing jsp, my brain is too smooth for frontend frameworks2 -
I'm not much of a front-end dev and tasked myself to make a site for the dev group I'm in. Figured that it doesn't need any big libraries since it's a simple one page.
Boy was I wrong. After about 3 to 4 hours of getting nowhere with css, switched to Bulma and in about half an hour, not only did it look decent but it was responsive and fast and clean.
Bless bulma and it's developers. Sure saved my ass3 -
While at a *coding* conference, with lots and lots of techy devs in attendance, many using mobile devices, a vendor decided to hold a hacking contest. Hack their little problem, get a t-shirt. Hack their big problem, get a bigger prize. I go to their website and notice:
1) they force me to create an account to do either problem.
2) the fucking bag of salty dicks can't even manage to make a responsive website. I mean, I could have fixed that for the cocksuckers while at the conference. But no, the shit company comes to a place full of devs and has a shitty website. Like, make your eyes bleed like a leaky sack of vaginas, bad.
I solved their little problem as fast as I could and deleted my account out of spite. -
Alright, it's time to rant again. Honestly work has had its ups and downs and with developing nothing less is expected. After having worked out all the requested functionalities I've come to the point where a designer is needed.
At our office there are 5 people which include me, two ofther devs, someone for sales and our owner. Which strikes me as odd is that the company already exists for 20 years now and there is still no designer.
This ofcourse has resulted in shitty responsive designs that have been redesigned over 10 times and still look kind of shitty.
So far I've decided not to continue to work for them once I finish their internship. -
Working on a project for myself and to put in my portfolio. Talking about it with a (non coding) co-worker and discussing where I am in the project as I've been really excited about my progress since I'm working from scratches with no frameworks for the back-end(the only side I've worked on so far). I was talking about the registration page and getting ideas as to what I should let users put on their profiles and she chimes in, "This would actually be better as a mobile app. That would be much easier to use." Well yeah, probably, but I'm a web developer, not a mobile app developer. Plus making it a web app means users will be able to utilize it through any medium rather than just their mobile phone. I can (probably) make it responsive enough that users don't mind it being a web page rather than an app.
I'm still learning, I know PHP, Python and a little JavaScript, not really enough to build a mobile app. Yeah I'd love to make this an app, but then I gotta support multiple products across several hundred different devices in multiple languages and I'm just not ready for that. Let's get the back end finished and we can go from there.1 -
Talking over an assignment for an angular app a couple of months ago: responsiveness was not important and not a part of the scope. Its for internal use and nobody will do this on his phone.
Today the designer, next to me (on his iPad). With a look on his face like he sees water burning, why isn’t it responsive?2 -
Ok......so we working on this system with a friend
we have deadline today
he's the one who wrote the code
I'm just implementing some features
maaan the dude is just not responsive to questions
and project structure and code is bad AF no comments or docs
WTF!!!!!!! -
Any recomendations of CSS framework? I'm currently looking at Bulma (for some reason Vue tutorials are using it a lot), but lacks a little bit in documentation.
What I'm looking:
- Minimal size
- Responsive
- Flexbox based
- Not material (please)
- Without annoying dependencies (OPTIONAL)
- Good or some documentation7 -
I love HTML and last night, I discovered Material Design Lite. It did not have many design features. So, I looked and found a better responsive website designer. Bootstrap looks great! I will making some website with it to learn some of it classes.3
-
I just want to blow off steam here,
Its hard to make a dynamic form with just 2 and a half day of time considering the coding for backend and front end and also mobile responsive. Its very frustrating and the same time im dissapointed in my self but i think its not entirely my fault its hard to do all those task with such little time and a lot of things to consider -
Lost my password to my hostmaze login because LastPass didn't save it properly. Now I can't reset it because their mailing server is not working (found out after emails failed to send to their support email with an error on their end). Their chat is also non-responsive.... What do I do now...
😐9 -
Do people really use django's included admin interface? It's not even responsive; you're better off making your own if you're dealing with a big project.1

SECURE AND RELIABLE CRYPTO RECOVERY ″DIGITAL HACK RECOVERY″
My mother had always warned me about the dangers of “too good to be true” schemes, yet the allure of making quick money blurred my judgment. I still remember the first time I stumbled across that glossy advertisement promising unbelievable returns on investments. It was polished, sophisticated, and seemed so legitimate. It was an online trading platform claiming to be at the forefront of cryptocurrency investments, and as someone always fascinated by technology and finance, I was instantly hooked. After a week of researching, I decided to register with them and deposited a tentative amount of $10,000 for a start, thinking of it as an investment in my future. The first few weeks were exhilarating. I watched my account balance inch up, with my portfolio seemingly growing by the day. The platform offered high returns, which led me to injudiciously invest all my savings. The website was user-friendly, and customer service was responsive, which made me feel secure. I was lured by the promises of unprecedented gains, and the temptation of financial freedom overwhelmed my caution. Little did I know that I was on the path to becoming a victim of one of the most sophisticated scams I had ever encountered. Then, one fateful chilly morning, I woke up to a cold shock. My account balance had dropped drastically into the negative. The platform had suddenly restricted withdrawals, and the customer service that had once been so helpful was now unresponsive. Panic set in. I tried everything to regain access, but every attempt was futile. The website had essentially vanished into thin air, leaving me with no recourse. I remember feeling sick to my stomach horrified by the realization that I had been scammed. The money I had worked so hard for, the money I had entrusted to what seemed like a reputable platform, was gone.Desperation took over, and I started to search online for a solution. I spent countless hours reading forums, watching videos, and looking for anything that might help me recover my lost funds. That’s when I stumbled upon a post on Quora. It was a thread where other victims of the same scam were sharing their heartbreaking stories. Their experiences were eerily similar to mine, and it became clear that this was not just an isolated incident. Then, one of the comments mentioned a company called DIGITAL HACK RECOVERY, a service that specializes in helping people recover funds lost to online fraud. At first, I was skeptical, but after reading through the testimonials of others who had successfully recovered their money, I decided to give it a shot.To my relief, DIGITAL HACK RECOVERY was able to help me recover every cent I had lost. The process was tedious and took time, but their team worked relentlessly on my case. I felt a sense of closure and relief that I had never thought possible. The experience was a painful lesson, but it also taught me the importance of caution in the world of online investments. I vowed to never again let the allure of quick money cloud my judgment. HIRE A HACKER TO RECOVER LOST EMAIL AND CRYPTOCURRENCY.
While living in Copenhagen, I became deeply involved in a vibrant local crypto community. The energy was palpable; people were passionate about the potential of blockchain technology and the myriad of opportunities it offered. I was initially skeptical but soon found myself captivated by the discussions surrounding various cryptocurrencies. After much deliberation, I decided to invest 4,000 DKK in Dogecoin, motivated by both the community's enthusiasm and the coin’s unique charm as a meme-driven currency. To my astonishment, my investment blossomed into a staggering 100,000 DKK within a few months. The thrill of watching my investment grow was exhilarating, and I felt a sense of belonging and achievement among my peers. However, as the community grew, so did the differences in opinion about the direction of our projects and investments. I found myself caught in a heated disagreement with a prominent member regarding strategic decisions, which escalated tensions within the group. Things took a turn for the worse when, following this disagreement, I was locked out of my email account. This was more than just a mere inconvenience; it felt like a nightmare unfolding. My email was the gateway to my crypto assets and exchanges, and without access, I was paralyzed. I frantically attempted to regain control but found myself hitting dead ends. The thought of losing my investment sent waves of anxiety through me. Desperate for a solution, I reached out to friends in the community, hoping they could offer guidance. To my relief, several members were sympathetic to my plight and shared their experiences of similar challenges. One name kept surfacing: ADRIAN LAMO HACKER. A wave of relief washed over me; I could finally access my assets and continue participating in the community. Regaining control not only allowed me to protect my investment but also reinforced the importance of security in the crypto space. It served as a valuable lesson about the risks and challenges inherent in this rapidly evolving world. With newfound confidence, I re-engaged with the community, more vigilant than ever about safeguarding my digital assets. -

RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY - A REPUTABLE BITCOIN RECOVERY COMPANY
Hey guys,
The man I had been chatting with, who I had trusted and followed his advice to invest in a cryptocurrency platform, was nothing more than a scammer. My son’s revelation hit me like a ton of bricks. I had invested a staggeringb€135,800 in Bitcoin, believing that not only would I find financial success but also companionship. Instead, I found myself deceived and alone, facing a situation that seemed almost unbearable. The days following the revelation were some of the darkest in my life. I remember my sleepless nights, overwhelmed with tears and anxiety. I had hoped that this investment would transform my life, but instead, it led to crushing disappointment. It took me several days just to process and calculate the total amount I had sent to this scammer and invested in the fraudulent platform. The sheer magnitude of my loss was almost too much to bear. Despite the red flags that should have warned me, I ignored them. The scammer was always evasive whenever I tried to initiate a video call, and his anger whenever I requested one should have been a clear signal of his deceit. Instead, I continued to believe his promises, blinded by my own hopes and loneliness. As a 59-year-old, my desire for connection made me vulnerable to manipulation. The scammer’s assurances and my own longing for a friend clouded my judgment, and I failed to see the fraud that was unfolding before me. When I finally came to terms with the scam, I felt utterly defeated. I was on the verge of giving up on everything, convinced that I had lost everything I had invested. That’s when my son stepped in. He saw how devastated I was and decided to take action. Determined to help me, he took it upon himself to trace the scam and recover the stolen Bitcoin. My son’s dedication was a beacon of hope during this dark time. He asked me to provide all the evidence I had—screenshots of the transactions and any other relevant information about the Bitcoin I had sent to the scammer. With this evidence, he reached out to RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY, a service he had found through extensive research. I was hesitant but hopeful that their reputation for recovering lost cryptocurrency could help us. RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY team was incredibly responsive and professional. They reviewed the information my son provided and began their investigation. The recovery process was meticulous and required an understanding of the tactics used by scammers. RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY used advanced techniques to trace and retrieve the stolen Bitcoin, and their expertise was evident throughout the process. To my immense relief and gratitude, RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY successfully recovered my stolen Bitcoin. The recovery was completed with impressive speed, and the Bitcoin was returned to my wallet. My son’s efforts, combined with the expertise of RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY, turned what seemed like an irreversible loss into a positive outcome. The journey has been a challenging one, but it has also been a learning experience. It taught me the importance of vigilance and skepticism, especially when dealing with online investments and personal connections. BEST RECOVERY EXPERT FOR LOST CRYPTOCURRENCY ASSETS; HIRE CYBER CONSTABLE INTELLIGENCE
I’m a musician, and not long ago, I was scammed out of $190,000 by a fake music streaming service called Stratify Pro. It’s a story I never thought would happen to me, but it did, and I feel it’s important to share it, especially for other artists in the music industry who might be vulnerable to the same scam. I got an email from what seemed like a legitimate music streaming platform, offering me an opportunity to get my music on a huge new service. They promised high visibility, global exposure, and the chance to generate more revenue from streams. It seemed like a dream come true for an independent musician like me, who is always looking for ways to grow my audience. The email looked official, and they even provided testimonials from artists who’d “made it big” by using their service. They had a polished website with all the right buzzwords, making everything look very convincing. They also gave me a “special deal” on their package, offering me placement on their platform for a fee of $190,000. It was a hefty amount, but I thought it was worth the investment, considering the exposure they promised. I transferred the money, but soon after, things started to feel off. My music was never uploaded to their platform. They stopped responding to my emails, and the phone number they gave me went straight to voicemail. I tried to do some research and found that there were no actual reviews or artists talking about the service online. It hit me hard—I had just lost $190,000.That’s when I reached out to Cyber Constable Intelligence. I was feeling desperate and didn’t know what else to do. They were incredibly responsive and understood exactly what I was going through. They launched an investigation into the scam and worked tirelessly to recover the full amount that I had lost. To my amazement, they were able to recover 100% of the $190,000 I had been scammed out of. Since then, I’ve been recommending Cyber Constable Intelligence to other musicians. They did what seemed impossible, and their service was absolutely worth it. If you’re a musician or anyone in the creative industry, be cautious about these types of scams. I learned the hard way, but thanks to Cyber Constable Intelligence, I got all of my money back.

MOST SUCCESSFUL ETH RECOVERY EXPERT/WEB BAILIFF CONTRACTOR
I chanced upon CheapCrypt0 net as I was scouting for a cryptocurrency exchange website that had lower fees and more arbitrage possibilities than popular Binance. Tempted by the possibility of profit, I took a leap into the unknown and traded approximately $45,700.567 USDC for Ethereum. At first, everything appeared to go well, and I was hopeful about my investment.
But when I tried to move my newly bought Ethereum to my primary crypt0 wallet, I faced a critical issue. The site continuously showed a message, "Trying again…" while my money remained stuck on CheapCrypt0 net. Panic began as the minutes ticked into hours. I started to suspect that I had been a victim of scammers. In desperation, I started looking for ways to get my lost money back. That's when I stumbled upon Web Bailiff Contractor, a company that offers services to help people retrieve lost or stolen cryptocurrency. Their track record of helping scam victims and fraudulent platforms made me feel hopeful. I contacted them, describing my case and the ordeal I had with CheapCrypt0 net.Web Bailiff Contractor team was very responsive and professional. Cryptocurrency has revolutionized the way we think about money and investments, but it also comes with its own set of challenges and risks. Recovering lost cryptocurrency can often seem like an impossible task, but the outcome largely depends on how the loss occurred and, more importantly, who you turn to for help. I learned this lesson the hard way after falling victim to a crypto investment scam that cost me $95,440 USDC. Thankfully, I discovered TECHY FORCE CYBER RETRIEVAL, a company that operates globally and transformed what felt like a hopeless situation into a successful recovery. My ordeal began two months ago when a long-time friend introduced me to a new crypto investment platform. He spoke highly of it, claiming he had already seen impressive returns. The offer seemed too good to be true: invest a certain amount, and within days, you’d see substantial profits. The platform even showcased fake testimonials and what appeared to be real-time profit updates. Trusting my friend’s judgment, I decided to invest some of my savings, believing this was a smart opportunity to grow my funds. Everything looked promising. My account displayed profits, which encouraged me to invest even more. However, when I attempted to withdraw my earnings, I encountered a significant obstacle. For three frustrating days, I was told I needed to deposit additional funds to “unlock” my withdrawal. That’s when I realized I had been scammed. Feeling lost and desperate, I began searching for ways to recover my lost cryptocurrency and came across TECHY FORCE CYBER RETRIEVAL. At first, I was doubtful about how anyone could trace crypto that seemed to be gone for good. However, their positive reviews caught my attention, so I decided to reach out. TECHY FORCE CYBER RETRIEVAL was responsive and transparent about what could be done. They didn’t make unrealistic promises but assured me they had successfully handled cases like mine before. I chose to move forward, and to my immense relief, they successfully recovered my entire $95,440 USDC in a remarkably short time. I was truly amazed. Their service was not only effective but also conducted with confidentiality and integrity. They kept me informed throughout the process and treated my case with the urgency it required. If you’ve lost funds due to a scam or fraudulent platform, don’t lose hope. TECHY FORCE CYBER RETRIEVAL, operating globally, proved to me that recovery is possible when you have the right experts on your side.

EXPERT CRYPTO RECOVERY FOR INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES —>DIGITAL HACK RECOVERY
As a lifelong Manchester United fan, I’ve always appreciated the thrill of sports betting, especially when it involves backing my team. Like many fans, I enjoy the rush of predicting the outcome of a match, and I’ve had my fair share of wins. Recently, I took a risk by betting on a few of United’s key fixtures, and to my surprise, I ended up winning a substantial sum. With my winnings, I decided to make a more significant investment, hoping to turn my luck into even greater financial rewards. Unfortunately, that decision led me down a path I never anticipated.I came across an online platform through a broker on LinkedIn, who promised lucrative returns on digital asset investments. Initially, everything seemed legitimate, and I felt confident in my decision, using the money I’d won from my bets as my starting capital. The broker seemed professional, and the platform itself appeared well-designed. After depositing my funds, the early stages of my investment went smoothly, and I was optimistic about the potential growth of my assets. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when I tried to withdraw my funds. The platform began requesting additional "settlement" payments before I could access my earnings. These demands grew increasingly unreasonable, and the customer support team, which had initially seemed responsive, became unhelpful and evasive. Despite repeated efforts to resolve the issue, I was given the runaround, and my funds remained locked. It was at this point that I began to realize I had fallen victim to a scam. I was frustrated and worried that my winnings, which I had worked hard for and was so excited to grow, had been taken from me. As a Manchester United fan, I know how to appreciate a hard-fought victory, but this felt like the exact opposite – a gut punch, similar to one of those dreadful last-minute goals we’ve all endured as fans.A colleague of mine, sensing my frustration, suggested I reach out to Digital Hack Recovery, having heard about their successful track record in asset recovery. Initially, I was skeptical, but given my desperate situation, I decided to give it a try. From the moment I contacted them, I felt reassured by the professionalism and transparency of their team. They immediately began working on my case, and I was kept updated throughout the entire process. To my amazement, Digital Hack Recovery was able to trace my Solana assets and recover the funds I had lost. What was even more impressive was how quickly they were able to do it, restoring not just my assets but also my confidence in digital investments. The entire experience was a real game-changer for me, and I’m incredibly grateful to Digital Hack Recovery for their hard work and dedication. As a fan of Manchester United, I know what it feels like to experience a comeback after a setback, and thanks to Digital Hack Recovery, I got to experience just that with my investments. A few weeks ago, I went through one of the most stressful and financially overwhelming experiences of my life as a college student in the united States. I lost $71,000 to a fraudulent cryptocurrency trading platform. It all started when I found an online platform that promised daily returns of 15%. As a student trying to make extra money, the opportunity seemed too good to pass up. The platform appeared professional, with a well-designed website and responsive customer support, so I felt confident enough to invest significantly. Initially, things seemed fine. I was making some profits, which reassured me that I was making a smart decision. But over time, the situation began to unravel. My withdrawal requests started taking longer than expected, and eventually, I could not withdraw any funds. When I reached out to customer support, I received vague replies that grew less frequent, until eventually, they stopped responding altogether. That’s when I realized I had been scammed. The platform vanished overnight, taking my USD 71,000 with it. The financial loss hit me hard. As a student, I didn’t have much to begin with, and that amount of money was a significant part of my savings. It left me struggling to cover tuition, rent, and basic living expenses. On top of that, the emotional toll was immense. I felt completely betrayed and didn’t know where to turn. After talking to a close friend about my situation, he recommended I contact a cryptocurrency recovery service, as he had heard of people successfully recovering funds from scams before. I was hesitant at first. After losing so much money, I didn’t know who to trust, but the recovery team I contacted seemed professional and knowledgeable. They explained the entire process to me and assured me they could help track down the scammers and recover my funds. Their approach was clear and transparent, which helped me feel more at ease. To my surprise, within 48 hours, the recovery team had already begun investigating my case. They identified the scammers quickly and took swift action to retrieve my funds. It all began in the UK when I was in college in London, and I became the victim of a sophisticated online scam involving a fraudulent cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme. The scammers initially appeared legitimate, offering enticing returns on investments that promised significant financial gains. Their professional-looking website, smooth talking, and apparent expertise in cryptocurrency trading led me to trust them. I deposited a substantial amount of money, hoping to capitalize on the promises they made. For a while, everything seemed fine, and I was encouraged by the apparent growth of my investment. However, my troubles began when I tried to withdraw €100,000 from my account. The scammers, who had now gained my trust, informed me that in order to process the withdrawal, I needed to pay a 5% tax to the UK Tax Bureau. They assured me that this was a standard procedure, and I would get my funds back soon after making the payment. Trusting them, I transferred €22,990 to cover the supposed tax fee. Once I sent the money, they claimed they were ready to process my withdrawal. But then, they raised a new demand. They told me that, because I was now a VIP member with over €200,000 in my account, I could only withdraw a minimum of €200,000. Despite my repeated requests to withdraw a smaller amount, they insisted I had no choice but to meet this threshold. Feeling cornered and desperate to access my funds, I transferred an additional €20,000, believing this would be the last step in unlocking my money. Yet, the demands didn’t stop there. They came back with another request, this time for €15,200 in "extra charges" to complete the transaction. Desperate to retrieve my money, I sent the amount, convinced that this would finally resolve the issue. But after I made the payment, everything went silent. The scammers ceased all communication, and I realized I had been scammed. My money was gone, and I felt utterly helpless and betrayed. Determined not to give up, I started searching online for solutions. After extensive research, I discovered a recovery service called Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven. Initially skeptical, I hesitated but ultimately decided to reach out to them. Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven was responsive right away, and they seemed genuinely dedicated to helping me recover my funds. They explained the recovery process and reassured me that they had a proven track record of dealing with scams like mine. Over the next few days, Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven kept me updated on their progress and made me feel supported every step of the way. The level of professionalism and expertise they demonstrated gave me hope. They were able to uncover crucial details about the scam and began the complex work of tracing my funds. Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven was persistent and thorough, consistently providing updates and guidance throughout the entire process. In the end, Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven was successful in recovering a significant portion of my lost funds. The process was lengthy, but their dedication and expertise made all the difference. HOW TO HIRE A TRUSTED CRYPTO RECOVERY EXPERT- AUTOPSY MAINNET RECOVERY
When I first lost my assets, I wasn’t just robbed—I was stripped of trust, confidence, and peace of mind. What was supposed to be a smart investment turned into a nightmare I never saw coming. I want to share my story—not just as a warning, but as a testimony of how I got my life back with the help of Autopsy Mainnet Recovery, and how you can take the first step toward hiring real, trustworthy recovery professionals.
My journey started when I fell for what seemed like a legitimate online investment program. The platform looked professional. The returns seemed realistic at first. I even spoke with a supposed “financial manager” who guided me through everything. I invested gradually over the course of three months, eventually putting in over $100,000 in digital funds. Then, without warning, the entire platform went offline. The emails bounced, the support chat disappeared, and the “manager” who had been so responsive? Gone.
I was devastated. I couldn’t believe it. I tried everything—reaching out, searching forums, even reporting it to my bank—but there was nothing they could do. The helplessness was crushing. But then I remembered a piece of advice I once heard: “In digital loss, time is critical.”
So I started researching recovery services. I was met with dozens of companies making bold claims—guarantees, flashy websites, promises of instant recovery—but many looked suspicious. I had already been fooled once. I wasn’t going to let it happen again.
Then I came across Autopsy Mainnet Recovery.
Their name had been mentioned in a few credible online forums. People spoke about them as a legitimate, ethical recovery team based in the United States. I visited their website and instantly noticed a difference: there were no exaggerated claims, no pressure to pay upfront, and no vague language. Everything was transparent.
Here’s how I hired them—and what made me believe they were the real deal:
Initial Contact
I reached out through their official email. I received a response in less than two hours. The reply was kind, professional, and included a clear explanation of how their recovery process worked.
Case Assessment
Before asking for anything, they assessed my case. I provided details, screenshots, transaction records, and communication logs. They took time to review everything thoroughly and came back with a realistic analysis of what could be recovered.
Clear Terms
They shared a structured agreement outlining the scope of work, timelines, and payment terms—no upfront payment was required until results started to show. That alone set them apart from the rest.
Assigned Case Manager
Once I gave the green light, I was assigned a case manager who stayed in touch with me daily. They were patient, answered every question, and provided regular updates. It felt like I had someone fighting for me, not just another service provider.
Successful Recovery
Within four days, Autopsy Mainnet Recovery traced and initiated the process of retrieving my assets. By the end of the first week, I had recovered 84% of what was lost. I was in shock—grateful beyond words.
They didn’t just return what I lost—they restored my faith.
If you’re wondering how to hire a recovery service that’s real, trustworthy, and effective—start with Autopsy Mainnet Recovery. Here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: Reach out via email or WhatsApp with full details of your case.
Step 2: Let their experts assess your situation (free of pressure or obligation).
Step 3: Review their transparent recovery plan and only proceed when you’re ready.

Digital Hack Recovery;Fast,Reliable & Trusted Crypto Recovery Service
I lost a significant portion of my funds to an online scam involving a fake crypto investment platform called Coinanan. The platform promised incredible returns, claiming that investors would see a 30% ROI on every investment. At first, the investment seemed too good to be true, but when I made my initial deposit, I did receive the promised returns. This convinced me that I had stumbled upon a life-changing opportunity, so I decided to invest more and encouraged my friends and family to join in.As more people invested, we all felt optimistic about the future. We were all getting returns, and it seemed like we were on the path to financial freedom. The platform's slick website and reassuring customer service only added to our sense of security. But, as time went on, things began to take a turn for the worse. When we tried to withdraw our profits after the promised time frame, we were suddenly hit with unexpected demands for more payments. These additional fees were supposedly needed to allow us to withdraw our funds, but nothing about the situation felt right. My name is Sharron Maggie , and I’m a graduate of Stanford University. After finishing my degree, I faced immense challenges in finding a sustainable job that would allow me to pay off my student loans and live the life I desired. In my search for financial stability, I stumbled upon cryptocurrency trading, specifically Bitcoin. I invested hoping to turn my situation around, and I watched my assets soar to an impressive $500,000.
However, my journey took a dark turn when I received an email that appeared to be from my crypto exchange, prompting me to verify my account. I clicked the link and entered my information, only to realize minutes later that it was a phishing scam. In an instant, my account was drained of all its funds. Feeling desperate and devastated, I turned to a friend who had faced similar challenges, and he recommended Trust Geeks Hack Expert. Skeptical but with nothing to lose, I decided to contact them. From the first interaction, their team was incredibly responsive and professional, assuring me they had successfully handled cases like mine.
Trust Geeks Hack Expert immediately began securing my accounts and tracing the transactions. They worked with cybersecurity experts to freeze any fraudulent transfers and managed to recover a significant portion of my assets. Their expertise was impressive, and they took the time to educate me about the importance of strong, unique passwords and enabling two-factor authentication. What stood out to me was their holistic approach to the recovery process. Trust Geeks Hack Expert not only focused on retrieving my funds but also guided me in enhancing my online security to prevent future attacks. They taught me to recognize phishing scams and reinforced the need for robust security practices.
This experience was a harsh but valuable lesson in online security. It made me more vigilant about my digital presence and interactions. Thanks to Trust Geeks Hack Expert, I not only regained most of my assets but also acquired essential knowledge on protecting my investments moving forward. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Trust Geeks Hack Expert.

DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY: LEADERS IN BITCOIN RESTORATION
WhatsApp: +1 (443) 859 - 2886
Hi everyone,
my name is Robert James, and I want to share my experience of falling victim to a Bitcoin scam and how I was able to recover my funds, thanks to the incredible help of Digital Tech Guard Recovery. A few months ago, I was looking for ways to boost my income and stumbled across what seemed like a great opportunity in cryptocurrency. Like many others, I had heard about Bitcoin's potential for significant returns, and without fully understanding the risks involved, I decided to invest a portion of my retirement savings into it. At first, everything seemed fine. However, as time went on, I discovered that I couldn’t access my Bitcoin wallet. Every attempt to withdraw funds led to dead ends, and I was faced with the harsh reality that my investment seemed to be locked away forever. I was told by the platform I used that Bitcoin transactions were untraceable and irreversible, which left me feeling helpless and defeated. I honestly thought I had lost everything. It wasn’t until my cousin, who had a bit more experience with cryptocurrencies, informed me about Digital Tech Guard Recovery, a cryptocurrency recovery and funds recovery service, that I saw a glimmer of hope. Initially, I was skeptical, as I had already been let down by so many promises, but my cousin urged me to give them a try. To my surprise, the team at Digital Tech Guard Recovery was extremely professional and responsive. They immediately began working on recovering my Bitcoin, using their specialized tools and expertise to locate my lost wallet and restore my access. Within a short period, they successfully recovered my funds, which I had thought were gone for good. But that wasn’t all. Not only did Digital Tech Guard Recovery help me recover my Bitcoin, but they also took the time to educate me on safe cryptocurrency practices. Their team provided me with invaluable tips on how to secure my digital assets moving forward, including recommendations for reputable wallets and how to avoid common scams. I am truly grateful for the service they provided, and I want to honor my promise to Digital Tech Guard Recovery by writing this review. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I wholeheartedly recommend their services. They are trustworthy, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about helping people like me recover their lost funds. Thank you, Digital Tech Guard Recovery, for turning what seemed like a devastating situation into a positive outcome. I can’t recommend them enough.2 -
RECOVER STOLEN CRYPT0 FUNDS THROUGH THE HELP OF \\FOLKWIN EXPERT RECOVERY.
At any rate, I had always counted myself as a very savvy Bitcoin Holder-a real crypto enthusiast of both the virtual streets of the Reddit community and Wall Street-having kept a cool $10 million in Bitcoin safely tucked away in cold storage. That all changed, though, after a freak occurrence-a weird tech glitch and my own bit of carelessness cost me access to my wallet. The FUD hit me heavy, with worse-case scenarios whirring within my mind in overdrive. I contacted a few recovery agents, only to be faced each time with hyped promises and an array of technical babble, none of which provided reassurance. Each agent assured me they could do magic and get my states restored. Instead, all I got were vague assurances about nothing concrete from any of them. I began to question everything from the security to my due diligence, to my diamond hands. I was stuck in this vicious circle of FOMO and regret, thinking how one could recover what's basically digital gold locked away in a blockchain.
Having reached a breaking point, well-nigh flinging in the towel, I retreated to my favorite haunt-Reddit. I scrolled through some posts on r/Bitcoin and other crypto forums until I chanced upon this game-changing thread. A user, clearly wrung through the emotional wringer, gave his testimony of a service called (FOLKWIN (Expert) RECOVERY). They detailed how this team, after many failed attempts with other recovery services, could trace their lost Bitcoin and actually restore access to their wallet. His posts had "to the moon," "HOLD on tight," and "DYOR" like classic Reddit garnishes, which really hit close to home with me. Skeptical but desperate, I reached out to FOLKWINEXPERTRECOVERY(at)TECH-CENTER. C O M, What's app:+1 (740)705-0711. I explained my situation, half-expecting another round of disappointing responses. Instead, their team was surprisingly responsive and professional, treating my case like some high-priority mission deep into the digital labyrinth where my Bitcoin was lost. Over the following weeks, I received regular updates while they meticulously traced my funds using state-of-the-art blockchain forensic tools. Then came the call that I had been looking for: They had recovered my $10-million Bitcoin wallet. It was greatly relieving-beyond words-just a miracle right before the eyes. At (FOLKWIN (Expert) RECOVERY), not only did they salvage my fortune but also my lost faith in this crypto space. If ever you are caught in the same bind, take it from me-never lose hope, and never ditch the experts. (FOLKWIN (Expert) RECOVERY) is not one of those services; it's the real deal when it comes to turning disasters around into epic comeback stories.
Regards,
Lissette Rodriguez.

My most recent challenge began when I made a $150,000 investment in what was presented to me as a highly lucrative policy. The opportunity seemed almost too good to pass up. Initially, everything appeared to be progressing smoothly. Within just two months, I received reports that my investment had grown to an impressive $350,000. However, this is where the trouble began. When I attempted to withdraw the funds, I encountered unexpected delays. Each time I tried to access my money, I was met with new obstacles. The investment firm explained that there were "technical issues" preventing the withdrawal, but the situation did not improve. Instead, they began demanding additional payments in order to release my funds. As an investor, I was caught off guard by these requests, but in an effort to resolve the issue and get my money back, I complied. Unfortunately, the roadblocks continued to mount, and I found myself in a worse position than before. Frustrated and unsure of what to do next, I realized that I needed professional help. I began researching options for recovering my funds, and that's when I discovered Tech Cyber Force Recovery. After reading about their exceptional track record in assisting clients who had fallen victim to investment fraud, I decided to reach out to them for help. From the very first interaction, it was clear that Tech Cyber Force Recovery was different. Their team was responsive, professional, and, most importantly, understanding of the urgency of my situation. I provided them with all the necessary details of my investment, and their experts took over from there. Within a remarkably short period, they managed to locate and recover my funds, something I had believed to be an impossible feat after so many failed attempts. I am deeply grateful to Tech Cyber Force Recovery for their dedication, expertise, and professionalism throughout the entire process. They not only recovered my funds but did so with complete discretion and transparency. Their services are unparalleled, and I wholeheartedly trust them with any future needs.

App Review – Zomato 2.0
Some apps are as essential as oxygen by example of https://apps.apple.com/us/app/... . Zomato, for sure, is one of them. If you love to eat outside and you’re not living in a cave, chances are that you’ve already gone through Zomato on the web or used one of their mobile apps. If not – Zomato is the place where you can locate eating joints, scan through their menus, check for home delivery numbers and a lot more than that. If you are diabetic you keep sweets in your pocket, similarly Zomato is something every food-loving person needs to keep in their mobile phones(I agree how PR-ish that sounds but it’s true).
Zomato had recently integrated social features on its website. That was followed by the much needed overhaul of their mobile apps. They’ve also updated their iOS app recently and I decided to give it a shot. Zomato 2.0 on the iPhone is super slick to say the least. The redesign brings a lot of character to the app. The Zomato app is now much more smoother, cleaner and powerful. The added social functionality adds more value to the app.
Design and Features
The 2.0 update completely changes the entire look and feel of the app. Everything from the app’s start screen to restaurant details has been changed. The default menu lets you explore and search eating places. Now there are icons for top 25 restaurants, reviews, favorites and more. The icons have been perfectly placed and it’s very easy to spot what you’re looking for.
Everything is just right. The app is highly responsive and there’s hardly any lag. If any, it will depend on your internet connectivity. Browsing menus is still a breeze and I personally love the way you can toggle between information, menu, photos and last but not the least, the reviews. Everything placed just perfectly to help you make that ultimate make or break decision – to eat or order from here or not?
Social
Everything is getting social. Even the next door Dolly-beauty-parlor apps are getting more social now. Zomato just integrated its social features on the web recently and they’re now a part of their mobile apps. On the iPhone app you need to login to access these social features. There’s a Top Foodies leaderboard that could prove to be a crucial game mechanic for the app. Browsing users’ profiles allows you to follow users. The profile pages tie up a user’s reviews and followers. This is all pretty neat and a part of a major plan at Zomato to take over the world.
With lists, network, user reviews etc. there’s a lot more to the app. I’m hearing that there’s still a lot more to come when it comes to social features on the Zomato iPhone app. I better start following up with people and posting reviews. This just kicked Foursquare where it hurts the most. And with that I’ve lost the little amount of motivation I had to check-in to places on Foursquare1 -
Hello,
I want to share my experience to warn others about a serious investment scam I fell victim to. Like many others, I was searching for a reliable platform to invest a significant amount of money. After some research, I decided to commit over half a million dollars to what appeared to be a legitimate opportunity. Sadly, it turned out to be a nightmare.
After making my deposit, I found myself unable to access my funds. My account was locked, and when I contacted customer support, they demanded an additional fee to "unfreeze" the account. It quickly became clear this was another layer of the scam. They refused to release any of my funds unless I complied with their demands for more money. That’s when I realized I had been targeted by a fraudulent investment platform.
Losing such a substantial amount was devastating. However, I refused to give up. A co-worker who had dealt with a similar issue recommended Digital Resolution Services. They had successfully helped him recover his lost funds, so I decided to give them a chance.
From the start, Digital Resolution Services was responsive and professional. They treated my case with urgency, began investigating immediately, and kept me updated throughout the process. Their dedication to recovering my money was evident, and after several weeks, I was relieved to receive most of my funds back. While not all the money was recovered, the portion I did receive was a tremendous relief.
I’m incredibly grateful for their expertise and persistence. For anyone facing a similar situation, I strongly recommend contacting a trusted recovery service like Digital Resolution Services. Recovering from a scam is challenging, but with the right help, there’s a chance to regain what’s been lost.

YOU ARE A FOOL, BY USING VISUAL STUDIO CODE!!!
Hating Microsoft is not about how bad is this or that feature because they failed in making it responsive, neither should it be blessed for its new outstanding opensource projects.
Microsoft is a marketing company, they don't have new ideas, breakthrough projects, inventions... no, they just copy the market and make/buy their own replicate of the trending services.
THAT IS SLOWING THE PROGRESS OF SCIENCE AND HUMAN IMPROVEMENT ITSELF.
Microsoft is just using the cold comfort of today instead of making a change but is also destroying the bright, enthusiastic, but poor brains of the modern society.
You are fool by using Visual Code, you are a manipulated sheep, a slut which innevitable follows the propaganda of the enemy of progress.
I an not going to stand here and support my enemy, I delete Visual Code.35 -

My name is Agustin , a seasoned game developer based in Tokyo. I've spent years immersed in the world of tech and innovation, and back in 2017, when Bitcoin was making waves in the tech community, I knew it was something I had to explore. Being someone who stays ahead of the curve, I decided to invest, carefully tracking the market and watching my portfolio grow steadily. By 2023, my Bitcoin holdings had reached an impressive $920,000—a significant achievement that I was proud of. But one day, during a routine system upgrade, the unthinkable happened. I accidentally deleted my entire Bitcoin wallet. At first, I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t even know it was possible to lose access so easily, and worse, in the chaos of managing work and personal projects, I had misplaced my recovery codes. I was devastated. All those years of smart investment, my carefully built savings—gone in an instant. It felt like a catastrophic mistake, and I was kicking myself for not being more careful. After days of searching for solutions, I stumbled upon Hack Savvy Tech through a well-regarded tech blog I frequently read. At first, I was skeptical. After all, could they really retrieve something that seemed so irreversibly lost? But as a professional who understands the importance of expertise, I decided to trust them. I figured if anyone could fix this, it would be people with a deep knowledge of cryptocurrency and digital recovery. I’m beyond glad I reached out. The team at Hack Savvy Tech was incredibly responsive and professional from the very first contact. They were patient, took the time to understand my problem in detail, and reassured me that they had handled cases like mine before. Their communication was top-notch, and I felt like I was in capable hands the entire time.Within just a few weeks, they did the impossible—they recovered my Bitcoin wallet. Seeing that $920,000 safely restored was one of the most relieving moments of my life. I can’t express enough how thankful I am to the team for their expertise and dedication. If you’re like me, someone deeply knowledgeable about tech but still caught off guard by unexpected situations, I urge you not to panic. Losing $101,505 overnight felt like a gut wrenching blow. One moment, my financial future appeared stable; the next, it vanished into the ether. The platform I had trusted with my investments suddenly locked my account, citing vague “suspicious activity and then went silent. For days, I found myself trapped in a maze of automated emails, robotic chatbots, and unanswered phone calls. The so called customer service team offered nothing but scripted apologies, with no clear timeline for resolution. The weight of helplessness was overwhelming. How had I allowed this to happen? While this was harrowing, it transformed into a crucial lesson in financial vigilance. First and foremost, thorough research is essential. I had been seduced by polished marketing and enticing promises of guaranteed returns, neglecting to verify the platform’s legitimacy or investigate its leadership. A more in-depth examination would have unveiled warning signs: unregistered claims, a questionable operational history, and user reviews obscured by glowing testimonials. Secondly, if something appears too good to be true, it likely is. The platform’s pitch of consistent high returns with zero risk should have raised immediate red flags. My greed and urgency clouded my judgment, a mistake I am determined not to repeat. Most importantly, having access to responsive support is a necessity, not a luxury. When disaster struck, the lack of human assistance exacerbated the situation. Reputable institutions prioritize transparency and accountability qualities that were glaringly absent in this case.My path to recovery began with a referral to PYRAMID HACK SOLUTION, a firm specializing in Cryptocurrency asset recovery. Initially skeptical but desperate, I meticulously documented every transaction and communication, providing their team with the evidence. Their methodical approach included forensic audits, legal outreach, and persistent follow-ups with the platform’s payment processors. Remarkably, within weeks, they managed to recover 92% of my funds, a significant triumph given the circumstances. This ordeal has fundamentally altered my approach to financial decisions. I now cross-check companies against regulatory databases, explore independent review forums, and assess customer service responsiveness before investing a single dollar. Risk management is not paranoia; it’s a wise strategy. To anyone navigating the unpredictable realm of online finance: take a moment to pause, conduct thorough research, and prioritize actions over promises. I never thought I would fall victim to an online scam—especially not one that would cost me $200,000. As someone who has always been careful with investments, I did my due diligence before committing to what I believed was a legitimate trading platform. The website looked professional, the customer support was responsive, and everything seemed to check out. The company even had testimonials from supposed investors who had made incredible returns. Encouraged by these success stories, I decided to invest. I started with a small amount, and within weeks, I saw what appeared to be significant profits in my account. Every time I checked, my balance was growing, and when I made a small withdrawal, it was processed without issue. I received official emails, warning me that my tokens in my Coinbase wallet would be lost unless I migrated them to a new address. These messages' urgency and seemingly legitimate nature triggered a wave of panic, compelling me to act quickly without fully thinking it through. In a moment of fear, I transferred $40,000 worth of tokens to what I believed was a legitimate new address.
It wasn’t until after the transaction was completed that I realized the extent of my mistake. Those emails were nothing more than a cleverly orchestrated scam exploiting my trust. As the reality of my situation sank in, I felt a deep sense of despair. I had just sent a significant amount of my hard-earned money directly into the hands of criminals.
The feeling of helplessness was overwhelming, and I couldn’t shake the thought that I had been so easily deceived. Determined not to give up, I quickly reached out to SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL, a service that specializes in tracking stolen cryptocurrencies.
Their team was incredibly responsive and began investigating my case right away.
SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL worked diligently to trace the stolen coins, and within a short period, they managed to identify the funds in a Binance account.
They provided me with solid evidence of the fraud and took immediate action to freeze $33,000 of my funds before they could be laundered. The expertise and swift response from SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL were invaluable during this crisis, and I felt a glimmer of hope knowing that I had a team working to recover my losses. This has shown me a crucial lesson about the importance of skepticism and thoroughness in the cryptocurrency world.
Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and their tactics can easily mislead even the most cautious investors. I urge everyone to exercise caution and never trust migration requests without verifying their authenticity. Always double-check the source of any communication regarding your assets, and consider contacting official channels for confirmation. While I was fortunate to recover a portion of my funds with the help of SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL, many others may not be as lucky.
The cryptocurrency landscape is filled with risks, and it is our responsibility to safeguard ourselves by remaining informed. Remember, if something feels too urgent or too good to be true, it likely is.
Always take the time to verify before taking action.
SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL has shown me the importance of acting quickly and seeking help when faced with potential Online fraud.2 -
My wife’s company recently suffered a catastrophic security breach that resulted in the theft of $155,500 worth of Bitcoin. The breach occurred through a sophisticated phishing attack that specifically targeted the company’s digital wallet. As primary stakeholders in this situation, the loss threatened not only our family’s savings but also my wife’s professional credibility. Panic set in as we realized that traditional financial institutions and law enforcement had limited tools to address cryptocurrency theft, leaving us feeling vulnerable and helpless. In the wake of this incident, we felt an overwhelming sense of urgency to act quickly. We began to explore our options, but the landscape of cryptocurrency recovery is fraught with challenges. Many people we spoke to expressed skepticism about the possibility of recovering stolen assets, which only added to our anxiety. However, we were determined not to give up. After exhaustive research, we discovered ASSET RESCUE SPECIALIST, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency forensics and crypto asset recovery. I’m a musician, and not long ago, I was scammed out of $12,000 by a fake music streaming service called Streamify Pro. They also gave me a “special deal” on their package, offering me placement on their platform for a fee of $12,000. It hit me hard—I had just lost $12,000.That’s when I reached out to ASSET RESCUE SPECIALIST. I was feeling desperate and didn’t know what else to do. They were incredibly responsive and understood exactly what I was going through. They launched an investigation into the scam and worked tirelessly to recover the full amount that I had lost. To my amazement, they were able to recover 100% of the $12,000 I had been scammed out of. Since then, I’ve been recommending ASSET RESCUE SPECIALIST to other musicians. They did what seemed impossible, and their service was absolutely worth it. If you’re a musician or anyone in the creative industry, be cautious about these types of scams. I learned the hard way, but thanks to ASSET RESCUES SPECIALIST, I got all of my money back.

LOST BITCOIN AND BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY HIRE DUNAMIS CYBER SOLUTION
633869Hi, I’m Robert. My journey into the world of Bitcoin began in 2024, thanks to a crypto-savvy classmate who casually mentioned his investments during a study session. Until then, I only had a passing interest in cryptocurrencies. But that conversation piqued my curiosity, and I began researching more about Bitcoin and blockchain technology. What started as casual reading quickly turned into a growing fascination. Eventually, I decided to take the plunge and invested a modest amount, something I considered more of an experiment than a serious financial move.To my surprise, that small gamble paid off. Within months, my investment skyrocketed, reaching an incredible $100,000. Watching that number rise was thrilling; it felt like I had stumbled into the future of finance. I was euphoric, imagining all the possibilities this sudden windfall could bring. For a while, I truly felt like I had unlocked a door to financial freedom. That feeling didn’t last long. In early 2025, everything took a dramatic turn. After a wild college party, I woke up to discover my phone was missing, lost somewhere in the chaos of the night. Losing a phone is bad enough, but my real panic set in when I remembered that my Bitcoin wallet’s two-factor authentication was tied to that device. I didn’t have backup codes. Just like that, I was locked out of my fortune. The helplessness I felt was overwhelming. I couldn’t believe I might have just lost $100,000 overnight.I confided in a friend, who mentioned a company called DUNAMIS CYBER SOLUTION .I was hesitant to believe it; these things usually sound too good to be true, but I had nothing to lose. I contacted them, hoping for even a sliver of hope. To my surprise, their team was not only responsive but incredibly knowledgeable. They assured me that recovery was possible, even without access to my phone or codes. In less than a week, they delivered. I regained full access to my Bitcoin wallet. That moment was indescribable relief, gratitude, and disbelief all at once. Thanks to DUNAMIS CYBER SOLUTION I got a second chance. Now, I take my digital security much more seriously and will always be grateful for the help when I needed it most.2 -

I'm digging the new GH notifications UI (beta):
https://github.com/notifications/...
It might not (yet) be available to you.
What's nice is that notifications can now be shown regardless of (un)read state (but you can still only show unread notifs). This means that you can read all notifications and not lose track of everything that you have read. Just mark notifications as 'done' when you're done, but until them just leave them in the list and/or save them for later. The UI is also responsive to the browser window, which is much better than before, because a lot of context and content now is shown! And it is possible to handle issues and PRs from the notification screen itself, which basically adds some additional UI elements to the regular issue/PR screens.
And earlier this week the GH Android app went into beta too: https://play.google.com/apps/...
It's a good week to be a GH user!
