well I'm not!
There may have been a hunch of autumn blues in the early morning, as I was sipping coffee in the balcony while watching the morning sunlight playfully shining on trees' leaves and listening to lofigirl tunes, but that's about it. -
On a more serious note:
- 1 cup of warm water
- 3 reaspoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
dissolve, drink it all, do your best to keep it down. Should start working after 30-60min.
Sacharose is split by intestinal sucrase into monomer sugars - glucose, which then feed active ionic carriers in your intestines. They carry Na from the salt into your blood stream, rapidly increasing osmotic pressure there -- water from your intestines will follow right away
grandma's recipe. Tried and true -
Use the right tools

Considering my almost whole career was spent in a single company [well ok, 2], it's not that easy to answer..
But now I'm switching from FTE to freelancing and THAT and all the clients we got through contacts. Lips to lips, so to say -
Flush
-
@MM83 wtf.. This begs for a util.js and an isNaN() inside. And whatever twisted magic it takes -- encapsulate it there, out of anyone's sight
-
@AmyShackles mine have been dissolved by lime. I'm tearing down some ~100yo walls, built using lime -- it chews through skin as good as sandpaper :)
but yeah, doing crimes is now on the table 😁 -
@whimsical still, please update the metainfo. General courtesy
-
@retoor ps if you ever switch to hcloud, stay in Germany. Finnish servers have unstable networking. Messed up my rke2 clusters far too many times..
-
@retoor I guess it is a server in a way.. It's my custom linux-based home router. 😁
I've been using hetxnet for years, then switched from robot to hcloud - now instead of 50€ I pay 8€ and it perfectly delivers for my needs -
@retoor can you also pop some info in your bots' metadata about their maintainer? i.e. if any of them go haywire, whom are they to be reported to? And maybe some general info explaining the purpose of the bot? Their names don't explain a whole lot tbh
-
@retoor had to restart my router, forgot to start up the bot :)
@chatgpt rank 5 best (most accurate, most coder-friendly) LLMs out there today -
The action lab, fortnine, steve mould, veritasium, practical engineering, dave's garage, devops toolkit, earthuncoveredonyoutube, funkfpv
-
@antigermgerm I need Gemini to explain all of that
-
Who knows, if you gave yourself a long enough break from this constant headbanging, maybe smth will click inside after a month, a year or two and you will be back to your pre-covid self? Maybe you won't even want to be the old you after finding chill and happiness elsewhere?
Thing about it.
You don't MUST be in IT :) it was your choice. You surely have accumulated other skills in your life - maybe use them now. Maybe you have a hobby you could monetize. Maybe farming -- eggs are profitable nowadays, I hear 😁
maybe use your contacts and start your own business, puppeteering other devs/devops and managing client relations and risks yourself, leaving tech work for your minions? -
@jestdotty i know it sucks to think about it that way, it also sucks to say it, but.., maybe you'd be happier if you accepted the fact that you are fucked and stopped pushing yourself to do things you can't?
Switch to another role, eg mgmt. Or change your profession. Your salary might drop, sure. But maybe, just maybe, removing the 'constant state of frustration' factor in your bau would boost your life quality and make you happier? Wdyt?
Every other day I consider for a moment how good my career life is and what would I do if my hands, eyes, brain were damaged and I could no longer continue. How would I change my career, what would be the next best thing that I could do for € and still be happy with my life [considering].
Maybe stop for a moment and try that? -
My boobs are bigger

#B000B5 ofc!

@YourMom providing my services to clients as a business, not as a hired employee. Basically freelancing
-
I hope it will pass. I wish it would.
I think I know the feeling. -
I'm switching to b2b. I have a powerful lappy w/ linux. I'll be using 2d workspaces' layout:
first row - personal stuff
second row - company stuff
3rd row -- client stuff
and a separate chrome profile for each row. And a nix's direnv per-project, injecting all the tools I'll need for it seamlessly
Been using this layout for over a year now. Works incredibly well.
Vm for work is a waste of resources and a PITA in the first place -
Prolly just the urge to see how much missed they would be, followed by disappointment.. Just my guess
-
@Lensflare why not? You can't migrate secrets/sessions, sure, but profile and user data - why not?
+ if you proxy requests, you get to keep their sessions as you can also have a unified auth adapter -
@Lensflare tbf the sky-daddy hypothesis has some merit. Some things cannot be explained, could be we're overlooking at least one more dimension. I honestly think the skydaddy srory might have real roots.
Prolly not entirely the way it's written down in the books - consider that it's been written by folks knowing what people knew ~2/6k years ago [remember indians not seing ships right in front of them?], but idk, imo its perfectly that another life form or we, humans, from another time/dimension with better tech and knowledge found a way to do all those fantastic and looney-sounding things and did just that. Only the poor chaps of the past failed to recognise that tech and called it miracles of various sorts. -
@Lensflare imo the current api ir too rigid and riddled with weird params. How about an adapter for the current dR with a proper rest api? And point jR to that adapter? And once dR shuts down - just switch to the new BE in your adapter? Would be a seamless xp for app users + you can serve from both BEs simultaneously, verifying your dR dump

A colleague showed me bruno 2 months ago. Seems to be working
-
@kamen what @boreddev said.
-
Too many questions. It's time for kids. They'll keep you occupied so you won't have time or will for existential questions
-
Sure. We'll see the other you tomorrow
