@djsumdog i don't like writting docs, but agree that using LLM produces such garbage i rather do it myself
even with prompt for directing the LLM personality towards a non-verbose technical writter it still produces low-quality output while not really conveying the underlying ideas
i get it - it was trained on beletry and loves using colorful language. but ffs, i need docs, not a novel -
@YourMom
> "AI is noticing tell tale signs that humans are actually someone else's AI experiment."
or it's just a publicly available text with an open license so it's in training datasets so many times, the LLM outputs often contains traces of it. therefore the pattern algos are detecting have similarities between LLM outputs and original inputs/training data
the same as with the Bible

trolling is a art ....if it's provocative, pisses off people resistent to new ideas, and generally takes you out of your comfort bubble, then it's art done right
i also miss a point of such event, but how much butthurt you must be, about a contest you allegedly don't care about, to rant on a topic-unrelated sites? -
is this the one you're referencing?
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi...
"Various studies have demonstrated that hardware differences, such as different GPUs or CPUs, and compiler settings can lead to different computational outcomes (Hong et al. 2013). Additionally, a comparison between the same ML algorithm with fixed random seeds executed using PyTorch and TensorFlow resulted in different performances " -
who's "we"?
got enough resources to build AGI without the govts and corpos?
or are you yet another "our own custom brand of dystopia" startup? -
not sure about your companies/contracts, but afaik most don't pay severance for code of conduct violation related firing
the DB drop idea has the plausible denialability at least -
you got typos in "sold" and "russia"+"china"

i truly hate the new design of comments. i don't care about the avatars, and the buttons between comments just made the readability worse. same with the "comments" header and input field.
they should realize their purpose is not to emulate facebook wall posts

@D-4got10-01 even when you don't eat there, it's nice to clean up all the biological material humans commonly sheds
@Lensflare wtf are you doing with your keyboards? i've got the cheapest stock dell KB for offices and it's in almost daily use for 13 years now -
@Lensflare
1. schedule a Teams message via Power Automate
2. stay in bed -
imagine you're in a corporate
you need to write a documentation on various topics (basic team info, newcomer procedures, projects setup) - not suitable for a repo-specific markdown
you can pick between Sharepoint or Confluence
Confluence me up please! -
got .stl?

@jestdotty yes, but that's a problem of capitalism/oligarchy bordering on feudalism, not of "democracy"
if you allow 0.01% group to transfer costs to end users while pocketing all the profits, without forcing them to contribute back to public, there's no wonder -
"I don't think this is a democracy anymore if we have to self police our thoughts"
....whine, whine.. last time our country was not a democracy (~40 years ago) and you did not "self-police" your thoughts, you could have ended up in an uranium mine
but yeah, it's so much worse now with democracy - if you say anything unpopular the people might not like you and twitter/foxnews/newsmax/OAN are full of cancelled people, which are now unable to voice their opinions -

you know the saying - "those who don't learn the history are doomed to repeat it. those who learn the history, are doomed to helplessly watch those who don't repeat it"?
it's the same with vibecoding - whatever you do to avoid it, sooner or later that crap will exist everywhere around you and in every application you use -
@TerriToniAX 98 was SE. ME was standalone. + missing 2000 and 8.1
agree on the horrrible UX of the Win11. the first Windows OS where i have to intentionaly wait before clicking through menus, because they're too slow. they've crippled even speed of alt+tab -
lol, wait till we get Win12 with mandatory MS Copilot in everything and active Recall
-
"used volume key on the top row"
....please, don't. so much F-keys lost to multimedia buttons bs -
btw MS Teams shows different colored thumb emojis, but shows total count instead of segregated, which i guess is a good compromise

@tamagotchi "emoticons are older than this level of racism "
kinda afraid the racism is older than emoticons -

the reason most companies have policies against AI is not because they're "against AI", but because using public LLMs leaks proprietary data god knows where and unless you have solid data compliance it's not safe in terms of cybersecurity.
the fact AI companies use your chats for future training is no secret. and there were cases where someone elses chats leaked to other users. -
@NaturalStupidiy gaming OSTs are great, because the whole purpose is to create atmosphere and keep you focused, while not being too distracting. one of the reason i'm avoiding stuff with lyrics while coding.
OST: Unreal Tournament and Forza 3+5 are also worth to mention.
midtempo EBM mixes from CybermodeBeats are great too. also, programming mixes from JimTV -
@retoor you can do the new domain categorization yourself on the firewall provider website. usually it's enough (as long as the domain won't end up in a category blocked by the firewall user)
e.g.
- https://sitereview.bluecoat.com//...
- https://support.forcepoint.com/s/...
- https://fortiguard.com/faq/... -
@retoor one of the reasons corporate firewalls are blocking brand new URLs are exactly that - "new domain, uncategorized"
