My farmer mindset already made not use them. It all doesn't make sense to me.
-
Test succeeded.

@djsumdog you can find the dutch people with filtering on "verzonden" because many mails say "verzonden van mijn iPhone".

Made a swift snekbot now with 70 functions. Most impressive is the deep research. All functions: dice_roll, dice_d20, dice_d6, dice_coin, eightball_ask, eightball_detailed, eightball_stats, web_search, web_fetch, calc_eval, calc_help, calc_percent, calc_tip, karma_give, karma_take, karma_check, karma_leaderboard, timer_set, timer_check, timer_cancel, timer_list, note_save, note_get, note_delete, note_list, note_search, quote_add, quote_random, quote_search, quote_count, poll_create, poll_vote, poll_results, poll_close, poll_list, todo_add, todo_complete, todo_delete, todo_list, todo_list_user, todo_clear_completed, seen_check, seen_list_active, seen_stats, seen_first, random_choice, random_shuffle, random_number, random_password, random_hex, random_uuid, random_pick, random_color, convert_length, convert_weight, convert_temperature, convert_volume, convert_data, convert_time, timezone_now, timezone_convert, timezone_list, timezone_diff. It's 39mb :P

On 700 books, only one two words difference:
⎿ Python:
Total Words: 81426008
⎿ Swift:
Total Words: 81426006 -
On the server, C always wins and it's a tie between Rust and Swift: https://retoor.molodetz.nl/retoor/...
I am now normalizing the C output to the same as the python version output (just like I did with Swift) because i'm taking that as the one with the good output. Python does seem to do some stuff under the hood. It's not good for the performance of the apps to normalize the output. -
Maybe we should also try the crystal language :P

@12bitfloat their new models actually produce tokens for a lower cost. The hope is that significantly decreases. I couldn't understand from the beginning why they offered so cheap. Anthropic knows how to do it. Crazy that they're not profitable either, so many people have claude max. That costs a dime.

Sharing his knowledge and wisdom on Snek.
-
Yeah, OpenAI is so fucked. Don't forget that they have now more competition than ever. Sam Altman already sent some `code red` email about stagnating growth making them back into creating better models again instead of ads. But the ads are here now if I believe. I don't use it for a long time anymore. Also, they phasing out gpt4o for api now, i think many will be pissed.

Replaced database with just a json file, sqlite is overkill. Also less dependencies.
-
Not my proudest moment but at one employer i just stopped showing up. It was a kind of sweatshop. They really didn't give a fuck about quality software.

@Lensflare there was a beautiful dock for the Nokia lumia to make a desktop from it. I got attracted by the idea too. I loved the gui of those devices. Windows mobile was more comfortable to develop for.

Gemma3:4b is enough.

There are two types of people. The one who write clean code and the one that gets shit done. - tsoding.
-
What about versions from chrome.
-
@donkulator I checked your story with https://zoekii.app.molodetz.nl and your statements are quite based.
-
@jestdotty the same reason they're paying me now 😁
-
Don't worry, we'll always find a way to pretend to be important and even believe ourself in it. I'm in important because without me, my future robot won't have an owner. Medabots vibes anyone? Much more fun than that obese yellow electric mouse. Flutbeest.
-
The same as I'm doing now, getting high and code. I won't notice. People being replaced? What people? :p I often see no one for days. Maybe the people that'll be replaced will come to control you, just like the supermarket employees that are replaced by the self scanning thingies. They're now checking your bag. I once laughed to one of the girls, I said "what if you find a product that I didn't pay? I do not expect the police to be called at all 😂 Did it ever happen?" > she said no. I'm probably the biggest bastard in town for donating so low to church. Imagine that poor police guy that has to come on his horse from another city because someone shoplifted a meatball.
-
@Lensflare air traffic control is so easy compared to a self driving car. Self driving car is probably one of the hardest things ever ironically. But hey, it's vouched for the sake guy that wants to live on mars. You have to be a bit optimist.
-
@Lensflare you should work for black mirror.
-
@wojtek322 it's very annoying that I can't find it because I spend quite some time to create it. I had to export all rants and comments of a few weeks to create the song with the profound disses. A new song could be a good idea because less people to diss.
-
The only frontend system doing it totally right what I've worked with is vuetify. But frontend development sucks anyway but js is a lot of fun.
-
That's why we don't like designers. That's what happens when you give them a computer. Happy they're phased out.
-
@wojtek322 gamification in a b2b phone app.. Terrible. It's like gamification of my bank app. It's crazy. I spend and receive money and on top I get some bonus points and everything. How can such serious thing as banking be gamified... That bank is illegal anyway, they don't offer phone support. Imagine that. There are laws in the EU and especially in the Netherlands regarding availability trough phone. For example, a webshop requires phone support here.
-
@12bitfloat I barely review my AI code anymore. I know the models so well, I know what they did.
-
@Lensflare well, in 95% of things what you do for a living is being wrong not that big of a deal when it happens I guess, so go for it!
But seriously people, people are vibing complete distro's with it. It's not the AI being bad. Its the user not taking it serious.
You can buy a high quality slack mvp using your favorite tech and preferences within a day including CI and documentation for contributors and users. Before AI, I didn't do docs. Now it became one of my favo things. Projects are more finished than ever. Even when I write something myself, at the end it will go trough AI for finishing touch, without exception. -
Sometimes it makes mistakes, but when it doesn't, it generates MONTHS of work in better quality than you would write yourself if you instruct it well. Type annotations everywhere!
