How did devRant find it's initial users, in other words, solve the network cold-start problem?

For my startup, my concern is that users join only when other users / content creators / friends are on a platform, and content creators join platforms that have users... Any tips on solving this?

Read about tiktok, and the reason all the content there is.... very commercial sexualized crap.
    Same for FB.

TL;DR horny teens will jump start the social network.

you solve it by putting friend groups / circles in

Facebook did it just at one college then added college by college. this way people had a use for it until it grew

so you take a small community and make sure everyone in it is using it then expand it to other small communities until it gains critical enough mass

friend groups have to join together

or in my case I'm into interest groups but that's rare I think amongst humans

I remember the day I found devrant.

I literally googled after a place for dev to rant about their shit.

    Exactly what I needed

@blindXfish I'm building a community driven platform for gamers, placing it somewhere between Discord and Gameram (Instagram for gamers)

It let's content creators, community managers and indi-game devs connect with users more efficiently, while giving a social platform to players to create their own content.

@blindXfish I'd share it with you lol

Do you mind sharing your email ID through a survey link? DevRant might go out any day :P

    The platform is WIP.
