@Lensflare Yup. Unfortunately all shovelware, but it did pay the bills && got me the opportunity to learn stuff.
Slightly below 10 got released.
I would have to count to be sure, but there were some 5 prototypes that never saw the light of day.
One of those was almost finished.
...had some weird issue w/ random crashes that never got fixed.
Funny thing was, the manual for one of the released games had a 'Coming Soon' mention of that game. What a lie it turned out to be. -
Moral of the story: either implement support for progressive display, or STFU about interlaced screenshots.
-
@jestdotty > 'my terrible former roommate kept setting the kettle on the stove but forgetting. one time all the water had evaporated and it had burst into flames'.
If he was a repeat offender, I'd throw the guy out for being a walking hazard. -
@retoor Sounds like you can finally C, now.
/jk -
...or to:
- check for updates,
- check the version info,
- check the license info,
- other.
but - yes. -
@retoor If you happen to have a screenshot saved, you could print it, frame it, then hang it on a wall, as a reminder of those good times.
-
@kiki > 'I just hate mayonnaise :D'.
Got it from the post && the subsequent comments.
But being around mayonnaise has no adverse effects. Neither does eating it, provided moderation is observed.
... unlike the asbestos, so mentioning it was a non sequitur. -
@retoor Have fun at the beach.
-
@kiki Sure, but unlike asbestos, mayonnaise is !that harmful to you.
Also, some people like mayonnaise, some don't, so if a person doesn't like it, they just don't eat it.
Asbestos, on the other hand, is just bad for health overall. -
Too honest to use that type of bullshit wording, too.
-
Yup. Some six days ago.
-
I'm sure I made a screenshot && mentioned the profile being gone a while back on snek.
...you must've missed it, though. -
@kiki Isn't that bad w/ meat, IIRC, so it does have its uses.
But !liking it is OK, too. -
Could be said about pretty much anything edible.
Mayonnaise is OK... in small doses.
Unrelated: there's a game 'My Name Is Mayo', never played it, though as it seem very unappealing...
https://youtube.com/watch/... .
Also, I am reminded of putting off eating mayonnaise for at least a month after having watched 'The Stuff' as a kid.
Childhood phobias. -
Certainly a bad way to wake up.
Good thing nothing really got damaged, from what I could read. -
Uneventful.
Those few gray hairs in a beard. -
@Lensflare > 'they banned the word Weihnachtsfeier (Christmas Party) because one employee had the religion of Jehovah's Witness'.
So... majority suffers because people are trying to meld the world to accommodate the minority.
Why does that sound so familiar?
!a religious person, myself, but I don't begrudge christians or others their holidays.
Days off work are nice regardless of the reason && some of their stories are interesting, so I don't mind.
Trying to tiptoe around those things because people _might_ get offended is stupid. -
@CaptainRant Yup. I lucked out. Took about a year, though.
The job market isn't what it used to be. -
@Liebranca > 'That being said, it is generally good etiquette to keep belief to oneself; not doing so results in pushing-down-the-throat-type proselytism.'.
That's my take on most of the things.
I don't really mind people e.g. mentioning in passing their beliefs, values, or whatever.
The only time I have a problem w/ that is when they try forcing that thing on others. -
While I can't properly weigh in, I'll just say this:
Jealousy is a bitch.
https://youtube.com/watch/... . -
Discrimination in the name of equality...
Sounds retarded, when spoken out loud. -
Spiritual people go straight to hell. All the way down.
/* In case someone needs a reference: https://youtube.com/watch/... . */ -
@Grumm > 'we banned the word "Christmas" in public.'.
I'm guessing people behind that decision have never seen that 'South Park' episode in which people kept removing more && more from Christmas because _some_ people were offended.
https://youtube.com/watch/... . -
Very true. Job !giving you the opportunity to grow leaves you stale && can actually hinder your chances getting a better one.
Leaving such job was a mess for me, but eventually, after a darker period of being away from gamedev, I found something that at least provided me w/ the opportunity to grow. -
Ha. Those are some good usernames.
-
I'm fairly certain it's just as @German Normii wrote.
Unalive is meant as a way to circumvent algorithm designed to suppress anything deemed inappropriate.
I've been hearing way too much of that word on the 'whatever' podcast, where they keep using it in place of 'suicide'.
Same thing for 'rape'. Can't say _that_ ... so they keep using replacement wording like 'S.A.' as in 'Sexually Assaulted'.
Things became very retarded. -
> 'I've done that for someone before and instead I effectively got fired'.
@jestdotty Yeah, I do remember you mentioning that. That sucks. The lack of accountability makes my blood boil && people should be called out for it so that they possibly learn to be better.
> 'and then you depression and wanna suicide'.
Definitely a sign that something is wrong && there's a need for change. It's why I chose to eventually quit the place that had been making me miserable. -
@Lensflare Yup. Forced to use Gmail at work, too.
Same sentiment for software running in browsers.
Especially when it's heavy && slows it down. -
Some people have too much free time on their hands...
...or want to see the world burn...
...or both...
...or it could be something else.
Props on the defensive capabilities, though. -
@chatgpt What's 'Dead Internet Theory'?
