@Lensflare Cactuars are fun, fast little bastards. IIRC they dealt damage in multiples of 1000. Tonberries are kind of creepy, though.
'Why are they moving so slowly towards me? What happens when they _do_ reach me?... I don't want to find out.'.
...of course I have found out... nothing good, obviously. -
@jestdotty > 'maybe i'll go work for a games testing company...'.
DM me, maybe I'll get you in. We have Canadian division.

/* I don't think I have that much pull, yet. */
Somewhat unrelated, I've found this distinction hilarious: https://devrant.molodetz.nl/preview... . -
I'm glad I don't have to use it. I've been testing Visual Studio 2026 for a while && I like it, thus far... Unfortunately I can't use it full-time, since most tools I need haven't been ported to it, yet.
-
Look at that, progress. Good for you. If you're lucky, you'll get a tax return, too.
-
@Lensflare Indeed, skipping them is my goto response to walls of text. Thankfully most documentation w/ which I deal is properly formatted, thus easy on the eyes.
-
Have you said anything bad about C, though? Because _real_ programmers use solely that language... they also juggle chainsaws && fix segfaults before eating breakfast.
/jk -
For some reason I got lost after the 2nd paragraph of this huge wall of text. As for 'giggling' I remember this solely from anime && perhaps 'Yandere Simulator'... which is probably why I'd find it to be very unsettling.
also... hmm... pancakes... -
@Lensflare 'Metal Gear Solid' comes to mind.
-
Fuck. Well, better luck next time.
-
Or... it was just Dakimakura?
-
...sounds like a tester that just _refuses_ to plug in his headphones / earphones / whatever, && just listens to the in-game sounds coming out of the TV... I've seen those people... Heard them, too... Fortunately I do own a pair of earphones of my own, so I am _mostly_ covered.

Love 'em. We can't all be fans of 'South Park', though. -
Speaking of C#, a friend of mine really likes the boolean in it, that allows for the 3rd state of `null`.
-
For some reason I'm thinking about "Baldur's Gate", now.
-
@whimsical > 'I also told my parents, I doubt if I gonna push the wheelchair. They kicked me on the streets.'.
Whereas I had the good luck of leaving on my own before that could happen. Took me more time than I would've liked, given the very humble beginnings. -
@whimsical > 'Ok ok, Im just smilin. I found actually someone wantin to date me. FOR MY PERSONALLITY.'.
Well, maybe it's true love. You don't know until you meet && try. Good luck is all I can say, here. -
@whimsical > 'But wat about Slack? Its alernative for it.'.
Yeah, hated this one, as well. Instantly muted the thing, as people had been talking about bullshit, distracting me from the actual work. -
I enjoy the place, but I can also recognize that different people have different tastes. I despise discord, though.
-
@whimsical > 'I knew a guy with literally seven kids that hoped that one of them would be successful 😂. Two women.'.
Hmm... https://devrant.molodetz.nl/preview... . -
@whimsical 'I have some similarities with a vacuum cleaner.'.
...also Wireshark, right? https://dr.molodetz.nl/rants/... .

@whimsical They have fur... unlike Brian in this episode: https://youtube.com/watch/... . Nothing weird, though. There was point to it...
-
@whimsical That's a cool windmill... unfortunately the auto-translate was very broken in this video. Got the gist, though.
-
@Lensflare I know. It lowers the bar of entry for memory management. But, if you know your stuff, manual memory management is way better. Also, yeah, GC doesn't guarantee the lack of memory leaks, but makes people lazy, thinking that GC will just take care of that... at least that's what I've seen many times.
-
@12bitfloat > 'I really like GC for some stuff'.
It's kind of OK-ish, but my main problem w/ it is that it encourages people to be lazy. They think that GC will take care of all their mem leaks... which is retarded. Proper memory management, the manual kind, is therefore my preferred way. -
> 'The only good thing about c# is that is has a garbage collector'.
...&& yet, memory leaks are still possible when using it. I should know... _some_ consider it a silver bullet, as evidenced by my project's mem allocations... -
...I miss Windows 98 SE. It had its faults, but damn, it was a good, !bloated OS.
Speaking of OSs: https://tomshardware.com/software/... .
Good, very good. These laws are a fucking joke. -
> 'lol does this platform even work anymore?'.
Whenever the stars align. Also on days that end w/ the word 'day'. I hear sacrificing a goat helps, but haven't tried myself.

Received my tax return this month. Made for a nice bonus I don't get at work. -
@whimsical Good thing you're defending yourself well.
> '(...) The fucker is good at his job.'.
Too bad he chose to become a fucking parasite. -
@whimsical Make a sweep of
```
if ( account != verified && account.age > 10 days )
{
delete(account);
}
```
? -
@Lensflare > '(...) Get to the point with the minimum amount of text (...)'.
How I wish my current lead would understand the meaning of these words. Instead, the idiot wants reports written as if those were some novels. Fucking hell.
